Charging via Micro USB cable or USB 3.0??? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

I had a question. I know our phones can charge using a standard Micro USB cable but will it charge at the full 2 amps or is a USB 3.0 cable required to utilize the full 2 amps?
I am using original Samsung charger.
Thanks!

It is the wall unit that puts out the 2 amp

Yes. As per Samsung a long time ago the cable does not play into changing just the wall adapter

There are some differences between cables cuz I have an app on my phone that monitors the amperage and it differs with some cheap cables

Absolutely, have USB 2 charging cable that came with my BT headphones and charging rate is much slower than original cable.

I agree but I have yet to run into a cheap cable that will slow down my charging to the point I noticed.

Is there a way for me to use my Netflix app and display it on my TV using the USB cable?

You need a USB-MHL adapter, very easy to find, and relatively cheap.
Hmmm haven't heard of those. Thanks for the info!

Oh I see now, just googled it. I can't just cut an hdmi cable and write to a USB cable? I have extra of each.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
Nope, the adapter needs power to work. It goes like this...
Plug micro-usb male into phone
Plug micro-usb female into power source (AC or USB)
Plug hdmi male into TV
PROFIT.

Faulty Charger/Cable?

So I have notice that charging my phone takes really long using out of box charge and cable. I had 15% when I plugged it in 3 hours ago and now that I go and get it it's just at 50% :banghead: Any ideas if this is normal or if I should contact Sprint or Samsung for a replacement?

You're probably running the stock ROM, right?
Stock ROM uses software to limit to 2A wall charger to only input 500mA to charge the battery at 5V

I'm running Jellybomb v15.5. Also cable or charger has no physical damage to it.

Note II Not Charging Properly...

I have a relative who is has note 2 that was recently rooted. We have gone through many different roms trying to resolve the issue, but to no avail. The phone can sit on the charger for over 12 hrs straights, and will not reach 100%. currently it has been charging for 8 hrs, and is only at 35%. could the wise minds of XDA assist me in coming up with a solution to this particular issue?
Likely a faulty usb cable.

Call Samsung they'll fix it under warranty.

The note 2 uses a stock 2amp charger. If you are using any other charger, you will have that problem. Most other chargers only output .5amps

All valuable points, one more to go with them, a faulty battery can do the same thing.

Help charging issue!!?

I have a T-Mobile note 3 and I just bought it 2 days ago and I've noticed that the phone stops charging when I move it even slightly, and the only way to make it start charging again is to bend the cable so it is straight, again from the end, also it(the cable) seems loose and look's As if it hasn't gone in fully into the charging port, because It wiggles a lot. Please help!!?

Sounds like a hardware issue. I would take it back to the store and get it replaced.
Sent from my SM-N900T using XDA Premium HD app
Could it be an issue with the cable, because I charged it using a USB 2.0 charger and it worked perfectly?

Solution, just buy a new usb cable, could not be easier than that!
You can use either a usb 3.0 cable which came with
the phone or a usb 2.0 cable, it works fine either way.
Good luck!
OK thanks guys, it turns out the clip on The plug was broken, which is why it wasnt firm when I plugged it in, but I just bought a new one and that solved the problem.
