Google Dialer on Note 3 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Has anyone gotten the Google 4.4 Dialer to work on the stock Kit Kat ROM?
I've flashed the flashable zip and the app is installed to system/priv-app, and it has proper permissions, but it keeps force closing when opening it.

Lol was just looking for the same thing. I am about to attempt to flash the google dialer out of the pa gapps after I finish the backup. Has anyone tried this or am I the guinea pig?

Wow don't know how I missed that part of your message.... well that saves me from doing a restore. Hopefully someone has a solution since the google dialer is awesome with the auto caller id etc.

Does the aosp roms have the google dialer? I havent deviated from tw yet on the n3. I like the samsung calendar and the note3 specific features (spen etc) too much to give them up.

From what I've read, no. Although so me devs might choose to include it in their ROMs.

Tried out PAC-Rom using PA full gapps. With a light browsing it appears to have the google dialer. When I am around a nexus 5 tomorrow I will compare it and see if it is actually the same thing. Late and my memory is failing me atm.

I wish there was a way to do this on the Tochwiz ROM. Search inside the dialer and caller ID.... nice.

[APP] Ice Cream Sandwich Dialer [Themed Contacts & Phone]

Well, I tried to come as close as possible to the ICS dialer and this is what I came up with.
Themed contacts.apk and phone.apk
I tested it on stock deodexed no-CIQ ROM, but it should work on any deodexed ROM, but make a backup first!
Flash in recovery.
thx for this ill give it a try, looks very good.

Yea my bad, not too familiar w/ ADW, prefer LP and GO...were you able to resolve this? Is anyone else having this issues? This dialer looks sick, its the closest one to the real thing that I've seen but haven't tried it yet and just wanna make sure its working, so any feedback would be appreciated, TIA!...And just curious, what ROM are you on AvatarOfFrost?

Yea unfortunately it doesn't work w/ Calk's ROM, it just removes both apps , tried both flashing it and manually pushing it via Root Explorer....
I tried pushing these with rootexplorer. After pushing, they don't show up in the app drawer and I got FC with the contact storage and messaging after that. I tried pushing my backed up phone app and contact app and they both were still missing. Only after pushing the other ICS contact apk was I able to get both my phone and contacts back. Something is wrong with both of your APKs. I'm running stock deodexed no-ciq

For ICS ROMs, is there a way to get the AOSP dialer working if it came with TouchWiz?

I'm running Darkside Evolution 2.
I'm really not digging the Touchwiz Dialer, which inexplicably leaves off the contacts tab.
Is there a way to replace the dialer with AOSP, or is this one of those things that pretty much needs to be baked into the ROM?

Just doing that doesn't seem to work, seems like phone.apk is very finicky.
Based on the lack of responses from anyone chiming in saying they've done it, doesn't sound like anyone has managed to pull it off yet it's so finicky.

It's possible. There was a zip somewhere that was posted on the Skyrocket forum. I can't find it, so I decided to upload it. Not taking credit for it, just can't remember where it came from: AOSP Patch.zip
Edit: Was having problems before, but reflashed from scratch, now all is well.
Just as a warning, if you flash the zip above, you well also be theeming your market and contracts etc. Also it's a darker version of the dialer without the blue accents.

Good luck during learning and thanks for sharing the goodness! In the spirit of brainstorming, suggest these ones would be cool:

Thanks for mod.
Is it compatible with Cleanrom 4.1.2 base?

Moving t-mobile dialer to i9505 rom?

Make a backup of the i9505 dialer and give it a shot. Worse that could happen is you gotta restore the backup.

I'm probably going to flash a rom from the i9505 forums which has a lot more features than the infamous one and its updated to the current one MF9! I would imagine so. Without knowing exactly, I think secphone.apk is, at the very least, the one you would need for the dialer. Main thing is that once you're using the i9505 ROM, make a backup of whatever files you plan on replacing in case they don't play well with the i9505 ROM.
