You can use the e988 ROMs on an e980 with no issues. As for the baseband, you might have to flash the BM9615a baseband, or suffer from no deep sleep

Usually someone would create a thread to include all the available radios/modem/baseband...(why call different names when all the same) do we have a thread like that here ?

Again I'm new to the device so don't know everything and all variants in one forum is very confusing. I guess when you don't have a working recovery or wanna go back to 100% stock

Use this recovery, here. Been using it since it's release and have had no flashing problems.
https://db.tt/bQeSgkEJ
Flash it in whatever recovery you're using then reboot into recovery and you're good to go.

I know with the optimus g, there are kitkat recovery and prior to kitkat recovery (excuse my lack of fancy terms)... Kitkat ones can't flash 4.3 and below roms, non-kitkat recoveries can't flash kitkat. Is it the same situation with G Pro ?

What you could do is try other universal root methods, doubt most would work with knox intact... And you run the risk of bricking your device.

Always thought flashing different modems/radios from other variants were not a good idea.
The stock kernel that comes with the GE rom works on our TMo variants and aside from that I've had LTE working on GE as well.

I downloaded the deodexed version but am hesitant to flash. Has anyone flashed the deodexed version? Does it install with no issues using CWM, does it break root (I read in other forums this happened to people), does it play nicely with supersu? Are there really any differences from Android 4.2.2? I am just curious if anyone has any feedback on the rom. Thanks.

[Q] Need baseband for AT&T e980

I'm trying to flash the baseband for the LG Optimus G Pro AT&T version using this file (unfortunately, I'm a new user so I can't post the URL here).
Unfortunately, it errors out during flash:
set_perm: some changes failed
E: Error in /data2/media/clockworkkmod/backup/E980_Baseband.zip

Installation aborted.
What permission does it need? Does anyone have working baseband for AT&T?

Thanks for the response. Actually, that's what I have on my phone right now but this baseband causes me to loose connectivity periodically and there's no LTE. It would be great if I can get the stock baseband. Actually, I won't mind as long as it works reliably.

It only has one option -- "att ap.cingular". Hmm.. maybe the flash didn't work properly. I'm using clockworkmod 6.0.3.8. I don't have much experience flashing baseband but the flash went through without any issue.
I just flashed this again successfully but still getting connection dropped. The installed baseband listed is APQ8064/MDM9x15M. Is this the right version?

I got tired of it dropping and having to remove my google account and readd it to solve the problem of PlayStore not able to download so I flashed the phone back to stock. I've tried just about every ROM out there for this phone but they're all unstable. Stock, although has some AT&T junk, still runs the best with good batery life.
Will have to wait for the next stock ROM to be released.
