Rooting P605? - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

Hi
If I just want to root my P605, what's the best way? Will this allow me to get rid of a lot of the Samsung bloatware?
What is the best way to remove all apps, is there a list anywhere which details what can be got rid of?
Also will this 100% trip Knox?
Thanks
Andy

You should be able to root it without triggering the Knox-flag. I didn't tried it yet, so I can't give you any more information on this topic.
But, you have to be careful while you're getting rid of "all" apps (system apps in particular), because afaik some of them will trigger the flag.

Rooted and knox tripped .

Unless you have been living under a rock and haven't upgraded your firmware from the very 1st generation of Note 10.1 2014 tabs you will most DEFINITELY trip Knox... There is no safe way anymore...
This is true of all Samsung phones that have Knox in the phone natively from the start....

I've got KNOXED on my Samsung Galaxy Round on MJ2

Knox triggered to 0x1 using Universal Root De La Vega on firmware SUAMJ2 and root was successful.
So, be aware for those who want to try rooting Samsung Galaxy Round SM-G910S (SK-Telecom).

So you successfully rooted the Round? Was that with Android 4.3 or 4.42. I've been looking for a way to root mine which I bought from a shonk who claimed it could be rooted until he tried and failed when I sent it back
do you mind sharing the procedure?

1. I was using Root De La Vega Method(MJ2 firmware, 4.3).
2. As alternative, you may try CF-Autoroot meant for Note 3 sm-n900s (Korean SK-Telecom).
Hi, I have a galaxy round with kitkat on it, but i want to upgrade to lollipop, is that possible?!
Can i install another firmware/rom on it, like for the note 3?

P605 - Where do you guys get your custom ROMs?

When we go to development section there's just like 2 threads for custom ROMs for this device. HAL9000 and the 4.3 Stock KNOX free.
And HAL9000 thread is locked.
There are few more options for P600 and P601. So where do you guys get ROMs to try? I just rooted mine recently for added multiwindow apps and 4 window screen. I want to try something different from stock like CM, Jedi, Tweaked, LiquidSmooth, etc (which are all present in snapdragon Note 3) but there are very few to none.
I'm going to search android tablet forums now

Sorry for off topic, but how did you root your P605? I just got my unit last week.
When you rooted yours, does it trigger knox counter? also would you know if All Share Cast still works when you root?
thanks in advance!

I PMed you the link I followed. And yes you will trigger Knox. I dont think you will lose any apps just from rooting the device.

[Q] Root 4.4.2 without tripping KNOX?

I know its only been a day since its been released, but does anyone know if it will be possible to still root 4.4.2 without tripping KNOX? And yes I know I can just trip KNOX, but I own my phone and when I go to sell it, I want KNOX still at 0x0 since some people actually need it for their jobs. Thanks in advance.

Well, KNOX will be tripped regardless if rooting, custom kernel, or custom recovery.

Don't think he meant to 4.4.2. Think he was just saying it had been done for 4.3

You might try Google translate. Worked for me.
Any with KNOX 0x0 try this yet? There is another thread saying he did it with a special bootloader file, but not seen proof yet.

[Q] Those Flipboard-Widgets...

... is there any way to get them to work on an alternative Launcher? They're cool and Flipboard's own is not. But they seem baked into the Magazine UX and I don't want to use Touchwiz. Any way to extract & use them? My tabPRO 8.4 is rooted.

This method works like a charm. Yes it triggers Knox/the eFuse element. It's a quote personal decision - want your warranty and Knox or do you want root. My choice was root because I just can't enjoy Android devices (I have plenty) without it.
So, no chance to recreate those widgets? I'm on CM11 now.

Hi,
Sorry to imply an obligation but would you be able to point to a Tutorial for 5.11 root? I've been looking and it's a bit confusing. A step by step would be most helpful. If you do not know of a tutorial, maybe just point me in the right direction? I could care less about knox. i just need root.
-NJ
You have to install custom recovery before rooting your device.
