USB OTG is not supported in Q1000. Some told that using OTG-Y cable this feature will work.Not checked.

You need to root the device to make it USB otg support
Usb otg support not possible in xolo q1000.
i have tried several methods none worked what i figured out is it is related to Kernel.
if media tek releases kernel source code then only developer can enable or add this otg feature.
I am also following OHD forum they are also unable to do it.

Even if after root, there is no option to enable OTG.

there is not any custom kernal made for xolo q1000 still. if you flash xolo q700 kernal you will brick your phone .
otg working with micromax unite 2 not with my xolo q1000
Otg is working with micromax unite 2 but not with my xolo q1000
I know its a problem related to kernel but some others have said
Kernel supports otg. Is it possible to import kernel from micromax unite 2 ?
And then flash on Colo q1000.
I have tried to flash almost every ROM available for Colo q1000 but none supports otg
Not even with any of the apps like stick mount.

There are many custom roms available for micromax canvas hd but none have been started for xolo q1000 with similar but slightly better specifications (only the camera with bsi sensor and dragon tail glass protection). If some experienced dev can port one of those roms to xolo q1000 it will be highly appreciable. I want to take active participation in this process if any help is needed.

I recently acquired a USB OTG adapter, but can't make it work with any flash device. My question is: Does it support it? Do I need a custom kernel with OTG support? I'm using stock kitkat samsung rom with root. Thanks.

Yeah you need a kernel with otg support and also you need to use a y-otg (power needs to be taken externally, the S4 Mini can not power it).

And for stock kitkat rom there is no kernel that supports OTG So for now u have to install a custom rom like CM/Carbon etc that supports it

But there are people like saawi singh trying to port kitkat roms while i am still trying to port custom kernels..
But until xolo themselves provide us kernel source code for the device, i will have to continue my trial and error method..
While saawi is stuck at boot, and his device is damaged. So i guess it wont be coming up soon. But dont get your hopes up.

I believe Xolo has discontinued this device & you can consider it as dead.
Warning: If you will send an email to Xolo it will be stuck in black hole for eternity....

Would anyone know if there is a ROM/kernel which has the usb otg ethernet connectivity (ie asix chipset drivers). Stock android L and above have this feature.....

There is no need for any changes in the settings.if the Ethernet is supported it would work.
