Camera fails - Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, 10.1, 8.4 Q&A, Help & Trouble

It's probably something I froze with TiBu, but does anyone know why I would get "camera failed"? I'd hate to have to unfreeze everything one at a time until I find the culprit. Thanks.
Update.. I have defrosted almost everything, cleared camera cache, data, everything I can think of, and still camera fails. Anyone?

This probably doesn't make any sense, but since I installed TWRP recovery, my camera works again!

What has happened to my camera

I went to open my camera app on MIUI the other day and it forced closed. I thought it was a fluke so I wiped my camera app through titanium backup and launched it again. It still forced closed. I wiped my caches but that didnt work.
I have tried different kernels and roms and they all force close. Anything else I should try?

So... it force closes no matter what? Every ROM you try? After full wipes?
Mine did that on MIUI too, then when I would open it I'd get an error that said "cannot connect to camera". Other camera apps worked fine. Wiping data for the camera from "manage applications" solved the issue for me. If it's across multiple roms and wipes then it probably isn't rom or app related. Have you tried third party camera apps?
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
Yes I have tried a couple apps and they just freeze on a black screen. I did a full wipe coming from my last rom and the problem is still there. Guess it is time to give the credit card company a call.

Just after making my last post I tried it again. The camera comes on but everything is tinted purple and pink. I had this problem many months ago but it went away before I could get a sprint tech to see it haha. I posted here about it and I think people just thought I was crazy. Anyways, I'm conveniently a month out of my one year warranty without insurance. What are my options at this point?

Edit:
Here is that thread for completeness
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=993064
I heard insurance was open to enrollment for the month, but I'm not sure of the exact dates or if my info is correct. You can look that up or call Sprint & ask. If it's open, I'm not sure if there's a time limit on when you can use it - I'd think not. The month ends soon, so I'd go ahead and call.
Without insurance, I'm not sure. You can always take it in, maybe you'll get lucky. I'm not up to date on Sprint's policy for such things, I just pay my insurance every month.

Camera doesn't work out of the box.

Got a Galaxy Nexus from Google yesterday, and the camera app doesn't work. Tap on it, and nothing happens, app doesn't launch. What is the issue? Everything on stock of course.

That's not normal. Try Google if there's an apk of the camera app floating around, uninstall then reinstall the camera. If that fails, try a factory reset?
EDIT: better yet try another camera app from the Play Store if it works
Force Close and Clear Data/Cache?

Honestly, this is one of those times I'd send it back, and get another one. The work around of installing another camera app, or uninstalling/reinstalling the apk are simple solutions, but it still doesn't change the fact that you may have gotten a faulty device. I'd suggest doing a factory reset and seeing what happens. If the camera still won't launch, call Google, and have them overnight a new one to you. We pay enough for our phones, that we should expect them to (at least) be fully functional out of the box...if/once you root the thing, normal functionality can no longer be expected though.

Why do my gapps keep force closing?

Why? Happens randomly... and frequently... one is usually followed by several in short succession, and then it will stop and go away until the next out burst of gapps force closing comes along...?

May be u need to flash gapps again?

Its the gapps that came with the phone though...? Why would I have to re flash gapps on a stock ROM..?

Same issue here with mine, not rooted, all stock, gapps keeps crashing constantly when trying to use web browser or certain other features included with the phone. Annoying.
Not interested in rooting or flashing anything until development gets a bit more stable.
I had this problem on my og galaxy nexus, clearing data from the phone/contacts apk fixed it. Not sure if it applies here but it's worked for me in the past.

In my experience it is a problem with sync internet. Clear all the data from whatever browser you use and it should stop
Didn't work... still gapps force closing grr this is annoying

It does it to me too all the time and seems random. Didn't think much of it because it happened on the touch pad running cm9. I assumed it was just an android thing. So this isn't normal?

settings -> apps -> all apps.
go to each gapp in the list and force stop, clear data & clear cache. reboot.
if that doesn't help, flash a custom recovery, clear cache and dalvik. fix permissions. reboot.
just suggestions.
Back up everything to Google and try a hard reset maybe?

Yea, I have a custom Recovery so I guess I will try to wipe cache and davlick and fix permissions see if that works other wise, I guess a hard reset is what imma have to do, even thought I don't want to ...that **** piss me off

Clearing the Chrome data worked for my phone...thanks.
A little late to the party on this but the only fix I found that worked was to deselect syncing of Google interne data (unmodded ATT GS3).
gapps forceclose issue
Same situation. SGH999 Galaxy S3. Why is this an issue?
I also do not want to deal with factory reset, wiping apps, etc.
Basically, taking phone off sync... NO F/C at all. Slide tab to SYNC,
F/C EVERY SECOND. I took screen shots, thinking this is so unreal.
There must be an inherent issue with Samsung & Google not playing nicely together this time.
This is my 2nd phone BEHAVING the SAME. TMobile not helpful. In Another thread, they contacted the
President of Samsung for overheating & excessive battery drain. He was sent a new phone, but will end
up with the same problems. I really thought this phone was going to be the shizne...

This seems to be Talk crashing. I get the same FC message. I have to login manually to get Talk online again. Anyone else notice that?

aosp and wiping

Has anyone else noticed that when flashing from a stock ROM to aosp, the wallapaper previously used with a different aosp ROM is remembered and used? I always wipe data cache delvik and system. Somehow my phone always remembers what wallpaper I had previously. Maybe this is just minor but is it possible that it isn't wiping everything? Idk, maybe there's a simple reason but I was just wondering. Thanks
Is this before or after restoring apps that you notice this. My wifes phone doesnt do this.

Its before installing anything other than gapps. Maybe gapps is doing it somehow
Maybe you check the settings when you're logging in to your gmail account where it ask you restore all data and apps from previous phone. Don't remember the phrase but something like that if you do check it then it will restore the wallpaper
