[Q] LG G Pro Wifi diredt/nfc issue - LG Optimus G Pro

i had an issue with nfc. I had tried NFC with galaxy s4 and galaxy note 2. these devices receiving contents through nfc from lg g pro. but when i tried to recieve content from another devices it's always showing the popup (complete action using). and showing only play store option.
same issue with wifi direct. can't send/recieve files via wifi direct as we do easily in other (samsung) phones.
Please share solution if anyone have.
Thanks

I had the same problem when I switched from Samsung to LG, but the application Super Beam solved everything. More than anything is that you share files with any Android phones that don't have Wi-Fi Direct. In my opinion the best app for Wi-Fi Direct sharing!

Hi, I owned a tab pro 10.1, not rooted, screen mirroring (with my Samsung TV) works fine until I connect to vpn. Does anyone know why it happens and how to resolve this? I need the vpn to connect to netflix. Appreciate any help in advance. Thanks!

I have got this problem too. I have a Samsung notes 3, stock rom and would love to use vpn and screen mirroring for the exact same reason. As a matter of fact, this issue affects anything that uses wifi direct. VPN and wifi direct do not work together, they seem incompatible after the update to 4.4.2 kitkat. This seems a serious bug that has been very seldom discussed. Is it possible our devices have something unusual?
Vpn screen mirroring allshare cast miracast wifi direct are all terms associated with this issue.
Hi did you guys solved the problem. I too met with this issue after upgrading to kitkat. Am using note 8. Need some help from experts. Would like to watch uk programs on tv thru screen mirroring.
Is there any confirmed Android version this used to work. It's so important to me, I think I would even downgrade.
Of course it would be a lot better if there was a general solution to this problem. It seems that all trafic even the screen mirroring itself gets routed to the new address.

I had same problem when my s4 updated to 4.4.2 so I think 4.4.1 should work. Any ideas where I can find that version and change it on my phone as I used to use vpn and allshare cast together all the time?
VPN is point to point tunneling. Therefore, it is proper to close off all other IPC channels. It is functioning property.

I second that. First of all, it used to work just fine according to a couple of forum members.
Furthermore VPN is a VIRTUAL private network, making you appear, you had another IP adress to the outside world. In your local network, everything else should work.

Any update on this guys? A pain in the t*ts. Its effecting my s4 & s5 both 4.4.2 rooted. A rooted s3 on a lower FW works ok but i don't want to have to keep the s3 just for that. As others posted only fails after you connect to a VPN and I need it for the same reason as others i.e. different regions of netflix.
screen mirroring
Hello, any update regarding this issue?, any ideas if this is gonna be fixed on the 5.0 lollipop update? one last question is there an aosp rom out there for the 12.2 or note 8.0 or S5 that supports screen mirroring that i can try to fix this issue, to have vpn and screen mirroring on at the same time? thank you and sorry for my poor English.
Screen Mirroring + VPN isn't working since KitKat (was working fine with Jelly Bean) for all Samsung devices (as far as I know).
There is no solution for sure as downgrade (wasn't able to do so on Galaxy Note 10.1 2014) was reported as not fixing the issue (as issue seems to be in the Kernel).
VPN with Lollipop seems quite uncertain (add new feature to select which App should use VPN or not, but lot of complaints of people about VPN simply not working).
I'm crossing fingers and I hope someone will have good news soon.
So i had this problem until i downloaded the boxpn app and miracast shortcut app. You have to have an account with boxpn but it's only 38 for 12 months. So i turn on my Samsung tv, i have a galaxy s6. Open the miracast app then turn on the vpn and it works fine. Screen mirroring and vpn
I like to stream but I can not stream and use vpn when I use screen mirroring on my phone I have a Samsung Galaxy grand is there a solution
I have tried this effort using box VPN and Miracast at the same time. It didn't worked and disconnect from WiFi.
There is only one solution for this problem you can use USB cable screenmirroring and from this if you connect with vpn it will not disconnect for reference you can checkout youtube that how to use screen mirroring using USB . Hence problem solved enjoy
Just exclude Android System from your VPN connection if your VPN app the functionality of excluding selected apps.
I had this problem for years and just suddenly came up with this idea.

no its not working. it turns on bluetooth and start searching for bluetooth device! it also opens an alert box saying that we must turn off wifi direct in order to use superbeam.

Turn off WiFi direct and leave WiFi on but not connected to a wireless access point and tap on both phones or use the qr code.

So if this is the solution what's the need of WiFi direct in Wi-Fi menu? I hope LG is not using apples marketing tricks to promote it's own solution instead of using the most common and compatible.
as was the case for android beam.
my LG G3 can send files to my SAMSUNG S3.
but the LG G3 can't receive files from SAMSUNG S3.
LG needs to fix this and not go for the exclusivity route!!!
it should be NOKIA connecting people. nostalgia, hand meets hand boot animation.

Re: Wifi Transfer App Needed
I needed an app to transfer my files from android devices to PC and vice-versa. I had DropBox as an option, but I don't want all my data to go to Cloud and then go to another device. I wanted some of the features DropBox has, like:
O) Commenting on pictures,
O) To be able to capture a picture in the same app and send it to another device
O) I also wanted to open Office files like Excel, Word, etc. on the Android phone.
I hope someone will reply soon because I'm in a problem here.
Regards,
Pankaj
Thanks!
Wi-Fi Direct setup
Wi-Fi Direct allows Wi-Fi devices to be connected directly, making it easier and faster to share files or screens.
To setup Wi-Fi Direct, tap the Apps icon. And then find and open the Settings app.
Tap Wi-Fi.
Tap the Menu button.
Tap Advanced Wi-Fi.
Then tap Wi-Fi Direct and wait for your phone to find available devices.
Then select the device you want to connect to.
You'll see the Wi-Fi Direct connection icon in the Status Bar.
You're done setting up Wi-Fi Direct.

LG G3 Miracast failing

I had an S4 and a 2013 LG TV which could receive the Miracast from the Samsung S4 just fine.
I've upgraded to a G3 and it's seems to be in compatible with the LG (that's right LG) TV.
It connects, then just disconnects, no errors either side like this:-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ck8TLBqHxoQ
I've even gone as far as to factory reset the TV, just in case (It's had a few updates since purchase).
Am I missing something (Is there a known work-around or something) or was LGs flagship phone not tested with their own Smart TVs?
Any ideas / help appreciated.
- Anthony
For me same constellation. Same issue.
Bevor with s4 work.
Shame LG
OnTheRoad
Same with my sony tv as well very hit n miss as is nfc
Same here I cannot use miracast or wifi direct with my new sony tv; DLNA works though
Official bug???? How can we fix it?
thank God someone finally posted the same thing as i thought i was the only one experiencing this.
g3's miracast won't connect to my Toshiba tv.
it just shows wifi direct connected, then nothing happens.
went to the mall to try on other tv brands samsung, sony and even LG but miracast won't connect.
so i gave up and just told myself maybe it's because the phone is still new.
was using version 10A.
now i'm on 10B and still doesn't connect.
Looks like LG need to fix this but still haven't addressed this with the latest 10b release
Maybe lg is not even aware of this issue? How do we submit this bug?

I have noticed this with my previous LG G2 as well. Somehow lg tv keeps loosing stability of the miracast or dlna server.
might be something related :
hidden menu > MirrorLink Test and it will Force Close.
So is there anything we can do about this? Does this problem exist in all version of g3?
Miracast works perfectly over here. Miracast on, recognizes Panasonic VT60, off we go.
I gave up and bought a Chromecast never worked for me
Verizon G3 works fine for miracast on my 2013 F8500 Samsung. Try not connecting WiFi to your router or connect WiFi on 5ghz band. You will achieve better stability in the signal. Also don't have your tv connected via WiFi. Miracast may conflict, with your current WiFi connection or interfere when on the 2.4the band, just my experience as I also use widi on pcs. The WiFi chipset varies from phone to phone, LG may use one chipset that has more issues than Samsung
Hey guys, I just found a solution for it.
First, I read the NFC tag that came with my LG TV to connect it. It asked for Tag On app installation and after that, for the LG TV remot app. Bam! Miracast is finally working on my LG TV. Probably any library was missing and now is all good!
Please try it and let me know.
Same problem here with a LG Nexus 5, Android 4.4.4.
It plays with an Asus Zenfone 4, though without sound, not sure if I'm missing some essential bits.

Try what? What does this have to do with what TV you use? What "Tag On app installation"?

Not working with:
LG 42LB650V (2014)
LG 32LB650V (2014)
LG 42LB671V (2014)
Samsung UE46F6400 (2013) my own tv

Samsung UE48H6200 (2014)
Samsung UE50H5303 (2014)
Samsung UE55H6203 (2014)
LG Hungary tested with D855 v10a and an LG 42LA660 (2013) Smart TV. They said it works perfectly.

Did Miracast come with your 2013 8500 Samsung, or did you have to get the Samsung Evolution Kit to support it?
I turned on the hotspot kinda thing on the tv...connected my lgg3 to that WiFi. (Tv is still on home WiFi) and it works just fine.

Native support for WiFi direct sharing

So I wanted to share some files with a friend of mine and I connected our phones through WiFi direct but the share button displayed no WiFi direct option either in solid Explorer or the built in file explorer. Is there a way to use WiFi direct without using apps?
I'm not sure if it works because it's 1:15 am and I don't have another device close to test, but if you enter the WiFi menu and click the 3 dot menu you'll find the Wi-Fi direct pairing UI. Once both devices are paired an option to share via Wi-Fi should appear, I'll confirm later on when I have another device to test it

You're right, it doesn't work, I tried with my friend's OnePlus 3 and they paired but there was no option to share on any phone. I usually have superbeam installed and some of my friends have too so I didn't bother about the native support.
After some research looks like android provides the protocol but has no native app to share via this method (like the android beam one which appeared in Lollipop if I recall right) in the past I used oem options like S-Beam for Samsung or Smart Share for LG devices but ironically and despite it being an open protocol, they worked fine just between phones of the same manufacturer (s beam or the Wifi Direct option working fine between Samsung devices only and smart share between LG devices) I don't know if that changed so far, I could try with my GF S7 to see if that changed but I don't think it would add to the topic.
Superbeam is like the general solution for me, but requires to be installed on both devices sadly

Haha I would've preferred native support because having the same app is generally too much of a hassle for instant sharing. I wish they would've implemented it in the share functionality on the file explorer but oh well. Really crimps the power of WiFi direct. Thanks a lot for checking though.

Galaxy Watch network error and music switching issues

Hi,
I recently purchased Honor View 20 to replace my previous Nexus 6P. I set up the galaxy wearables app, galaxy watch plugin and Samsung accessory service. I got the phone connected fine, but it seems to not be sharing the network connection over Bluetooth as it did before.
When I try to open the "Galaxy Apps" app it shows a network error.
In addition, I seem to not be able to switch music that is playing on my phone anymore (Spotify).
I found that Nexus 6P was listed under compatible devices on Samsung's website and Honor View 20 is not (cannot post a link due to forum guidelines). Does that mean that those phones have some specific fixes in the plugin or that they are just tested to work?
Anyway, looking for some insight into this issue, thanks!
My app versions:
Galaxy Wearable 2.2.23.19021251
Galaxy Watch Plugin 2.2.05.19011541N
Samsung Accessory Service 3.1.92.81115
