I'm looking to get the 128mb upgrade done in China.
I contacted the guy on suggested on the wiki and he hardly knew what I was talking about.
He says that he has a friend that can do it.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else had had any other experiences of getting it done here....I'm in Xi'an but heading over to beijing for a few days next month.

Hi there, maybe you can check the forum of pdafans which is very pop in China. AFAIK, many guys got their 128M ROM upgraded from below thread:

For myself, I am still using 64M ROM Hardware, and the WM6.1 ROM v8.5 from Tomal. I feel it's stable and fast enough for me.

You can check out taobao (Alibaba's popular online auction site in China). A few weeks ago I found one in Shen Zhen Hua Chiang North district (China's biggest market of electronics trading) and got my Uni upgraded to 128MB. How much? Just 200 yuen (around USD 25)! And he did the upgrade on the spot while I was waiting there. The whole process took only about 30 minutes. AFAIK there are still MANY shops like that around.

I have exhausted every avenue here in Xi'an and couldn't find anything except blank expressions. Doing it on taobao do I have to send it to them or something, sounds a bit dangerous.
I'm off to beijing next month, maybe i can get it there somewhere.

I got mine from Negri. Not the cheapest place. But they were in stock (they have live webchat support on their site, and he was able to check it realtime), and it shipped about 2 hours later. Awfully hard to beat this price.
Is it any good ? is it worth the price £90 price tag ?
I want one only because it would look cool on the hand but other than that is it worth it or is it just a gimmick?
If Its anything like the liveview then no. I literally wee'd a little when I first heard about it, bought one and it was poo poo. Kept disconnecting and was just useless.
Unless this new one has fixed the connectivity issues then I'm giving it a miss

This is my first post, and I hope that it is in the right section of the forum.
I got my X8 from my brother, who threw it on the road (drunk). Since then, the speaker has issues, it has some kind of "crunchy/static" sound when I talk to people, when they say specific words/sounds. The loudspeaker/ringer is working fine.
I want to get a spare speaker, but I can't find one on the internet, only loudspeakers and all the other parts. Any ideas?

Usually when I buy earphones, I call them (eBay) up and ask the customer support team. They confirm it back to me. Alternatively , send eBay customer support a mail.
And next time, do not post two same threads in different sections
