Update from T-Mobile? - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

So I received an update from T-Mobile which said it had stability improvements. But then I also noticed they updated the baseband. I can't see or feel any noticeable changes. Just putting it out there in case you haven't gotten anything yet if you're on stock. I was hyped for something else

Maybe they finally fixed the bug that you couldn't make calls until you rebooted or toggled airplane mode

Yuck, vague changelog. Hopefully this is another thing T-Mobile can change for us geeks

More than likely because of this http://www.computerworld.com/s/arti...s_to_some_Samsung_Galaxy_devices?pageNumber=1

This indeed is the most recent update Rolled out by Samsung. It very well could be related to the flaw discovered. It is also likely meant to answer the signal issues some users have experienced with the last update. I have posted a little guide to Root this version.

Would it be possible to get a modem pulled from the new update?

Flashed this on my SRX 3.0 rom (DeKnoxed Android 4.3)for T Mobile and now in settings it says "No Baseband"
Flashing the back the MK4 baseband..
I'm thinking maybe I might need to upgrade my bootloader, I think Ill stick to the MK4 for a while longer..
Edit: Wait a minute. Is this for the T999L or just the T999?

It can no longer be rooted using the version of the su file the forum posts point to. Although the information in the posts are accurate.
You must use a newer version of the su file. This is the one that worked for me: Corrected http://goo.im/superuser/Superuser-3.0.6-efgh-signed.zip Corrected
You will get an error message after Clockwork runs the script but everything should be ok.
Basically, if your a newb go to: http://galaxys2root.com/t-mobile-galaxy-s2-faq/
Follow the rooting guide, but instead of using the included su zip file use the one from the link that I provided.
I hope that this helps.

I tried this and it worked for me.
Thanks
I dont want to be rude. Thanks for this but i think this is already posted. If you get error just go back wipe dalvik and cache and flash it again or just flash it a couple times. I got this error when i rooted stock kl1 but i knew it because it was reported already and fix was posted as well. I did exactly same to root LDE and it works. If u get error just flash again...thats all.

Yes, as has been stated even prior to the update, some people had to flash su several times for it to take hold.
If it is aborting, you can also toggle off signature verification. Worked like a charm for me.

nope; stock
My phone downloading the update but I was rooted, so apparently it failed to verify and the installation was aborted.
Stock and still nothing (Denver, Sprint 32Gb S3)
Updated: 2.6Mb update, had to force it, wasn't available at 1030am but at 1131am it was (MST)
Says security updates, however, if the baseband is updated, doesn't this mean the radio is being updated?
I got the same installation aborted message but then when I check if the system is up to date it says it is.
16gb on the sprint network...received the update around 1pm est
I just got the notice, its a few megs but unable to install since im rooted. it tries to do it through their stock recovery so it has issues with cmw lol

I think he is too conditioned on locked bootloaders after an OTA. Lol
I managed to grab the update from my cache partition. At any rate i'm about to unroot and apply it then reroot, grab a nandroid and update my upcoming ROM with it.
Mine went to install and it froze at cwm but now my data keeps cutting off. Some Sprint logging on issue pops up. Even with nandroid restore back.

O really?
This will put you back to unrooted stock.... Before MA6, you'll have to let the MA6 ota come through.

Probably not... sounds like a bad download... redownload to pc and do a full wipe and reflash. Now hopefully you haven't switched prl's and you have updated to either MA6 or MB1 because they are basically the same and this rom will run on both... let me know how it gows...:good:

Yes you can do that. I would just update to MB1 modem though (MA6 and MB1 are basically the same but you will still get the update notification on some roms if you don't do the MB1 modem update)...
Can someone on v2 try going into settings/network where you change lte on and off and see if you get fc. It says com.android.phone has stopped working. It worked on v1 and I did a clean install from v1 to v2. Thanks

Awesome looking. Gonna test this bad ass ROM. I'll report back if i get any issues.
Just flashed today and so far so good. Only thing I have noticed is that it reboot twice in like the first hour but nothing since then. Also wish I could find how to change the lock screen in the atom launcher settings.
This Rom is straight up solid.

Thanks and yes, I am already downloading. If you have tried that link it is a SLOW process. When finished, I'll post the file on Android File Host. Much faster speeds.
PG3 Update posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...uide-links-files-update-root-restore-t3366862
See the OP for the link (and other useful files.) The link posted in on Android File Host (AFH) and is much faster than the alternatives. Also AFH generates an MD5 so that you can verify your download.
Enjoy!
