Control of OT within your development thread.
These templates offer users a place to discuss anything other then direct development related discussion.
Quick set up in DevDB
Allows your Development thread to be cleared for development only
These easy 1 2 3 templates can help get you started.
There are currently 100's of Q&A/Ts out in the forum as can be viewed in this thread by MikeChannon. This project started out as an initiative for the RCs (Recognized Contributors) on XDA but is now open to all in need of a Q&A for their specfic project.
Please be aware that there are 2 different templates:
We look forward to your participation and we are always here to help, if needed.
Thank you and kindest regards, on behalf of the entire Q&A/T template team. Kuzibri
Thanks to TonyStark and MikeChannon for all the efforts put forth on this project

Just a little more information, we had a thread like this for Recognized Contributors and Developers only but now the Q&A/T thread initiative is public we are opening it up to all for openness and sharing as not all Contributors are RCs, and not all Developers are RDs.
Mike

Many thanks to @kuzibri for supporting this Q&A/T template project.
Cheers

[Q] App promotion

Is there a forum for promoting my metronome app and asking for testing/reviews?
The app is a pretty good looking (ipoddish) Android metronome

Possibly one of these - Software Development or the Apps one depending on how "User Ready" it is. BUT this only applies if this is a FREE app or at the very least has a free version for us here at xda-devs. We do not allow promotion of paid apps on the forums.
We do have a paidware forum, but that is restricted to those with a bit of history of developing here at xda-developers, so not available for new members.

Thanks for your reply. Of course this is a free app, but it seems I still don't have permissions to write to those forums
Thanks anyway

Once you make 10 posts elsewhere (in non-development threads_, you will be able to make your own thread
It's quite easy to get 10 posts...have a look in the off-topic forum and reply to some threads in there...or help someone who has a problem in the Q&A forum

Splitting up forums

Hello.
I've seen thread after thread from users who a confused over that you have created a Xperia S forum and not a Xperia NXT forum for Xperia P, S, Sola and U. Right now it not so messi because developers wait until the arrival of ICS update for the devices. But when Sony have released the kernel source and developers starting to either port roms og develop roms for the devices it could be really confusing to seach after a rom to the specific device. Yes they look allmost the same on the outside, but they aren't the same on the outside. Wich means that you can't take a Xperia S rom and install on a Xperia U.
So why did you create just one forum in the first place? You knew that Sony will release more devices to the Xperia family. Why don't make action before it's to late? I think that splitting up each devices will be much better. It could be in a Xperia NXT forum with each device in a child forum
Just a confused member
Thx
You could help people by creating an index, listing stuff in a proper order, and then have it stickied in the dev area for easy access...I've done it for my device since once there was a little confusion...
Though making and maintaining something as simple sounding as an index involves plenty of work beneath the surface...
It's already done And senior member optik19918 have already created an index on a picture wich is pretty nice if you ask me

And it is already in the new forums request thread
No, I meant something more on the lines of this...
My honest opinion/forecast is that what you are proposing wouldn't be implemented...
So one thing you could do is have a hand in cleaning up of your forum...
I do hope that the admins atleast look into this, but the chances of the division becoming real are bleak atm...

MoKee OpenSource is the biggest non-profit Android Open Source development team in China, with members from all parts of the world. We follow the latest development from Google closely and improve various parts of Android according to the users’ habits. Being a non-profit organisation, we utilise our spare time and own funds to keep this passion alive. Therefore, the costs for the forum and servers are solely beared by us. In order to provide a good user experience, we only included a few preinstalls in the ROM. Along with the advertisements in the forum; we hardly get enough to pay for the bandwidth. The point is, those are our only source of income, however many developers choose to exclude them when releasing unofficial builds. Unlike CyanogenMod, we did not accept monetary help at the early stages, as in China, most people do not understand the meaning of “making a donation”. They would think of it as buying a service, which is conflicting with our objectives. Anyways, we still made it until today, and even started to provide third party developers a chance to utilise our OTA system. All of these are the fruit of our hard work and passion. We are proud of the happy users, and we are also proud of the support given to MoKee OpenSource. Most importantly, we are proud of the improvements we have achieved all these while, and the advancements never stop.
Shouldn't this be in General, @Darth?

[ROM] Nitrogen OS for Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus (vince)

This was posted on Telegram (https://t.me/vinceroms):
Nitrogen-OS-O-vince-20180705.zip
built by Richard Willes
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1KR6Fdbh1y87qaLhedHEOr4KZpErgrq6Q
In my opinion it's an excellent ROM, one of the best ones released so far for the R5P. It looks very polished and professional (none of those childish boot animations with lightning and wolves and swords and all that crap), and it feels stable and adequately speedy on the R5P's hardware. Feature set is good (for my needs at least), without being overly bloated.

Why is not this ROM placed in the right thread???

You probably mean subforum, not thread. I posted this in the news subforum since I found this ROM, and it is new. If the developer of the ROM chooses to make a thread about it here on XDA, he will certainly do so in the development subforum.

You did see the credits in my post above, right? The ROM link was posted anonymously, WITHOUT ANY CREDITS on Telegram. It took me quite a bit of detective work to find out that this ROM was built by Richard Willes, by correlating the kernel build information from other ROMs ([email protected]).

I don't really know what that means, but it does sound a bit offensive. English is probably not your first language.
There are several ROMs for the R5P out there which don't have a thread here on the XDA development subforum. Developers might have their reasons not to participate on here, and it is certainly easier to just post a link anonymously on Telegram than go through all the hassle of forum communications.
It is not a big deal
deleted.
Is this rom safe to load into Phone ?
If you can donwload it than yes
