i would like to thank the developer for his hard work and dedication. he gave me the honor to convert my phone into a samsung for a two days, with random restarts and crashes and finally stuck in bootloop, i have since then come to know its hard to flash Mediatek 6589 cos they have not given or shared the full source code.
even the flashing tool will not be able to get you out of this mess, even if you download a stock rom.i dont exactly know if its a problem with stock rom or with process itself, but those who dont have a backup are royally screwed. just incase if you are stuck in a bootloop and the stock rom is not working, you can try the miui it will work, but for a brief moment.
i had heard that you can never truly brick a phone with android in it, but thats untrue, you will be stuck in bootloop forever if you are stuck and nothing works.
my experience with the experimentation has taught me a valuable lesson. i will not be messing around with this phone in the near future atleast.
good luck to all.

[Q] doubts about the software .

Hii,
I am new to the xda forum and i bought the huawei ascend p6 a couple of weeks ago for the one who also did, i got some questions:
-what do you think of the software?
-can you get themes from online?
-I would like to flash a rom but on the miui or cyanogenmod websites are not yet downloads availeble i know that here is a rom on the forum but is it worth it i got a bad experience with miui my last phone sys I9000 was bricked and i dont know how it happend till this day. also i prefer CM but when will there come a rom. i think it s strange that a sys I9000 still gets updates (almost on any rom) and some newer devices don't
thanks
i think the software is, less bloathed then big brands like samsung. you can get themes online. i don't know if there will ever be an official rom from CM or MIUI this is after all not a big branded phone but all i takes is a devoted developer. there's allready a miui rom bt< but i don't know how good it is. myself i got this phone ater carrying in my S4 for repairs (and planning to sell it afterwards) but i changed my mind and will use the s4 again even tho i will keep the p6 too cuz i like it allot and will no doubt regret it if i get rid of it
Online themes work for me on B118 firmware. As for CM, it may come eventually. MIUI is already on Xiaomi.eu, but current build results in a bootloop, so we might have to wait a bit for a fully working one.

What to do with the phone to make it usable?

My friend has an xperia m single sim model running latest official firmware and its is very slow. Hangs quite often and takes 2 to 3 swipes to unlock the screen. So i thought ill flash the phone with a custom rom.
Im good with flashing phones and have done it a lot. I always do my research before flashing to get the best rom for the phone. But with this phone i am stuck. I dont think i have found a stable rom yet. I know i should not ask which is the best rom but still can someone suggest a rom which can be flashed to this phone.
The problem is that after i will be meeting my friend for a day and i cannot flash it for a long time. So i dont want to put a rom and then after few days he finds serious bugs.
So some suggestion please. I usually go for omnirom or cm11.Some advice regarding rom, kernel, recovery would help me a lot
Thanks

Try Latest build of CM11 FXP, that is most Stable Rom according to me.
I'd say it's latest build from FXP (it's 326 so far). No serious bug or annoying UI. go for it. :good:
i will go with cm11 then.Thank you guys one more doubt. Does cyandelta work with fxp builds?

Can anyone enlighten my view on this phone?

Hello, name's Mike, have been in the android side for a while and it's my first time actually owning an US version of a phone, the N900T (T-Mobile Note 3) running 5.0 stock TW. (I don't live in the US)
So please, enlighten me!
ROOT AND RECOVERY
I have tried to root it and did it successfully, however when I tried to get a custom recovery on it, I only got boot loops so far, tried various tutorials, none of them have yet worked out for me.
CUSTOM ROMS
Are there any current custom rom development for this phone? I've seen lots of KK roms but I was looking to get a stable lollipop AOSP like rom like CM12 but without crashes or battery drain. Does anyone know any good roms that are stable?
PORTING
Also! How do you port a N9005 rom to a 900T? I've seen some methods by flashing a BT+Wifi fix or something like that but it seems outdated and I don't want to brick my phone just yet.
Please, please help me out, I am really out of it. Used to Custom rom on a Huawei U8650, Galaxy S2 and on my G2, but this is harder due to it being a carrier phone.
Thanks for your comprehension.
Did you download the right TWRP? Get the tar file and odin it.

Did you check the N900T development forum? There is quite a few to select from. I.E. Slim

Sorry can't help you with porting.

New owner seeking advice

Hello everyone:
I am a new (used) Galaxy Note 3 owner. I bought an LG G2 3 weeks or so ago, spent that 3 weeks studying, rooting, installing recovery and finally installing and tweaking Cloudy G2 ROM. Just as I got my G2 running flawlessly it slipped from my shirt pocket as I was grilling, bounced off the grill and landed face down on the car port thus smashing the screen to pieces. :crying: What a waste of time installing that cheap screen protector the previous evening.
Anyway, I found a great deal on a used Note 3 so I went ahead and bought that rather than another G2. So now, I need to update my Note 3 just like I did the G2. Since I am running short on time at the moment I just want to get some ideas on where to start. I do intend to read everything I can on XDA but some helpful tips would really assist me with getting this finished sooner rather than later.
So....Right now the phone has stock 4.4.2 loaded and the knox counter is not tripped.
Baseband version is:N900TUVUCNB4
Security Software Version is:MDF v1.0 Release 2.
I am not at all familiar with this security stuff so any tips here on what exactly this is would be most appreciated.
My goal is:
1. root the device
2. install recovery prefer twrp but cwm will do if necessary
3. install a good ROM (Preferably Lollipop based ROM)
4. I would like to have xPosed Framework support too if possible. Of course this depends on the ROM I presume.
I have heard that Samsung Note 3 is a real bear to root. Also that the Odin software can be dangerous. I have no idea if this is true or not so please help me here.
I was also wondering whether it would be best to root the phone while on KitKat, or upgrade to stock lollipop first and then start the root/recovery process.
I'd really really appreciate all the help I can get from anyone that has owned a note 3 and has already been all through this process.
Thanks...Olin
Oh well, no replies? Man this Samsung device is rather overwhelming what with all the various scenarios. I am thinking of going with temasek's Unofficial CM12.1, or DOMPOP, or maybe Darklord. But I am still completely unsure whether to upgrade to stock Lollipop before I start on the root/recovery/ROM project. I also need to read everything I can find on these 3 roms.
But please, if you have any comments on which of these 3 ROMS is the best for the note 3 and/or comments on the best root/recovery method then by all means point me in the right direction.
Thanks so much for any help at all.
people just aren't as helpful around here as they used to be. Either that or not many use the note 3 anymore. But nevermind I figured it out anyway as I knew I eventually would.
Hey!
I'm sort of in the same boat as you..
would appreciate some feed back see this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-tmobile/help/nexus-4-to-note-3-questions-t3173473
Not sure if my jelly bean note is at its peak performance now.. it performs so well but i wanna upgrade for the sake of upgrading

Hey Beegbear:
I have decided to stay with KitKat for now because of the fact you can't use the xPosed framework on Lollipop and the fact KitKat is just a more stable platform and has many more Roms available. I used this page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2765014
to get my Note 3 on the newest stock KitKat rom, then root it, then install the latest TWRP recovery. I carefully followed the exact steps in this guide except that I did use a newer TWRP recovery I downloaded from: https://dl.twrp.me/hltetmo/twrp-2.8.7.0-hltetmo-4.4.img.tar
Other than using this newer TWRP I went step by step through this guide. I still plan on installing a custom KitKat rom but right now I am researching various roms to try and decide which one. But at least I have latest stock, root, and a good recovery right now.
I'd start with Tweaked. A flawless TW KK ROM. Only if unsatisfied would I bother with LP. Apparently the developer is working on an LP variant, but we'll see. He releases long after others, due to commitments, but well worth the wait. There is an xposed for LP available, but carefully research what modules work with it and compare to what you want.

Thanks a lot. You caught me just before I was about to install Hyperdrive N3 RLS7.1. I'd like to ask you what you think of this ROM?
And as for tweaked, I have come across two possible versions of a "tweaked" ROM. Tweaked ROM [Material L Theme] and TweakedN3 v3.x. Are these actually the same ROM? I'm looking around but still am not sure on this.
Thanks for your reply.
Olin
Well I "think" I have it figured out and I am in fact going to go with the Tweaked ROM, basic install procedure. Thanks so much for your advice ytj87 - I would have installed that other ROM if I had not seen your post. I may do that down the road anyway but I intend to give Tweaked a thorough test before I do. It looks great and based on forum info it seems less buggy than most of the other roms I researched.
Olin
Will probably come down to the experience you want. Tweaked is more stock with an emphasis on stability. I haven't used Hyperdrive, but when you see a ROM like that which integrates something other than the Note 3 TW UI, you're more likely to see glitches. It's the same NF9 base, though, and it has been around a while, and it looks interesting, so at some point give it a shot if curious. I personally prefer the Note 3 original UI to the S5's, so I probably won't try it.
TweakedN3 3.95. The LP themed one I haven't used.
