[APP][ROOT REQ][v1.2][2014/05/09] System Status App for Gustavo_s Kernel - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

SystemStatus App
For Gustavo_s Kernel
Description:This app retrieves the same information as the custom kernel's systemstatus command and displays it in the app's main screen.
Additionally, some or all of the same information can be displayed in a system overlay area, making it available when the app is in the background (that is, while it is still in the Recent Apps list).
Requirements:This app currently requires:
Gustavo_s kernel; and
a rooted phone (which the kernel will do for you. )
Features:Manual and Automatic Status Refresh
The information screen can be manually refreshed using the ActionBar button.
Additionally, an automatic refresh delay can be specified. The default for this delay can be set in the settings/preferences. The value entered on the main screen will be used for the current session and will revert to the set default when the app is restarted.
Automatic refresh can be configured to start immediately on app startup.
System Overlay
The other ActionBar button toggles the display of the overlay service. This service will place a view of the system status information over the top of all other items on the screen. The overlay is totally touch transparent in that it will not respond to any touch operations and will not interfere with any interactions with widgets, apps or notifications on the screen.
The information displayed in the overlay is controlled by the checkboxes in the main screen. Items with a tick will be displayed in the overlay. And, yes, it is possible to remove all the fields. But why?
Additionally, the following preferences are available for the overlay:
position on the screen can be set to one of 8 positions. The default is 'Top/Left'.
font size can be set to one of 5 sizes.
field labels can be left or right justified.
field values can be left or right justified.
background opacity (i.e. how much it obscures the background items) can be set to one of 4 values: None (transparent, the default), 20%, 50% and 80%. Black is currently the only background color.
the display service can be launched automatically on app startup, similar to the auto-refesh functionality. In fact, they work well together. :highfive:

Polish (pl) - Thanks to @galonpzw
Current ReleaseThe currently released APK(s) are attached to this post and listed below:
GSKSystemStatus-1.2.apk
Changes from 1.1:
Add Polish (pl) language translation - Thanks @galonpzw
GSKSystemStatus-1.1.apk
Changes from 1.0:
Stop occasional double SU check.
Overlay Timer suspends when screen is off in order to preserve battery.
Add 'Exit' command to menu. This is a simpler way to stop both the app and the overlay service.
Code refactoring (non-visible change)
GSKSystemStatus-1.0.apk
Changes from 1.0b8:
Data retrieval is now fully independent of the systemcat command.
Overlay is now a foreground service. This may fix the 'display stops' issue reported by @davidroid03
There is now an ongoing notification present while the overlay is active. This provides quick access to the main app.
Portuguese language fixes.
GSKSystemStatus-10b8.apk

it's working great thanks for your awesome work!
a tip for people using other kernels:
in the next updates, if your kernel has these files the app will work:
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpuinfo_cur_freq
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/UV_mV_table
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpu_utilization

Yeah. The next version will work. The 1.0b8 version still needs your systemcat command.
But ... Real Soon Now! (tm)

Thank you for this. The app is nice but needs a little improvement. The real-time status display is inconsistent, what i mean by that is,the display stops for some reasons. Thanks though,i love the app!

When you say "stops" do you mean:
the numbers no longer change?
the overlay disappears?
you get an FC or ANR?
something else?
(I suspect it's the 2nd one, but I need to make sure.)
Thanks though,i love the app!

Glad to hear it.

New release
New release in OP. Enjoy! :highfive:

Yes the overlay disappears. Will tru the new update now.
I believe it disappears because it is automatically being killed from the memory.

Yep! As well as it can. Here's an example of the app running on Stock JB w/ PhilZ.
Some fields are unavailable but it will find what values it can.

That's probably right. The new version should stop that. As a foreground service it will have a higher priority.

The overlay is working fine now.
I can now monitor my phone's behavior upon choosing the right governor and i/o scheduler. Thanks for this app.

Do you mind helping with the translation? I don't have the language skills to do that myself and I don't trust online translation to do it right.
If you are willing to help, I can provide you with either the original English text strings or the Portuguese translations, whichever would be easier for you to work with.

New release
New Release (v1.2) in OP.

Ignore wrong thread.
I feel as though I am asking a really dumb question.
I see no links to a kernel package in the opening post. Has it been temporarily removed or am I supposed to build it myself?

[v1.5] Home Screen Customizer on Marketplace

Introducing "Home Screen Customizer" - A finger friendly app available on Marketplace that allows you to customize your Titanium home screen.
v1.5 Screenshots (Showing new Favorite Apps/MRU panel on the right):
This app allows you to rearrange the home screen panels to your liking by simply press & hold then drag the panels around (See left most screenshot). You can also add additional panels or remove existing panels.
Download
The app is on US Marketplace under Tools category. Or use keyword "home screen" to search for it.
The app is also available in many other regions. If I have translation for a language, then it's likely available in that region. Note that v1.5 is not yet available outside US but will be rolled out as Microsoft approves the app for other regions.
If it's not available in your region, you can still switch your Marketplace application to US English or another region that has the app in order to download the Customizer.
Changelog for v1.5:
- Fix for Omnia II
- Fix to stop TARecordExecution message from coming up
- Some minor fixes for search panel
- More translations: Czech, Spanish, and Dutch
- Maybe other stuff that I forgot
For Developers:
If you submit your panel to Marketplace or want to plug into my app's experience, I have built in plugin capability so that you can show an Add form and an Edit form in the UI.
Just download the app from Marketplace and copy \Program Files\Home Screen Customizer\TitaniumAlloyPlugin.dll to PC to be referenced in your .Net CF project.
Please see the attached zip file for a sample of how to implement an Add form to be shown when user adds a panel to their home screen and an Edit form for when user wants to configure something already on their home screen.

Nice job, I'll try it for sure
edit:
Works like a charm, thanks!
Error
I get an Error when running this application says "An unexpected error has occurred in TitaniumAlloy.exe" Any ideas?
If you're not in US, please try the following:
Go to Start->Settings->System->Regional Settings
Change region to "English (United States)"
Reboot
See if you can find it on Marketplace now
Go back to Regional Settings to change back to original value

Somebody emailed and told me there seems to be problems with Imagio. Is that the device you're using?
I'll have to do some investigation to figure out why, maybe go to a store and play with the device or something.

I saw on a forum somebody said those steps might work for non-US markets, but I guess it does not. I'll go figure out the right steps for it to work and report back when I have something.
Love the app. Got it from the Windows Marketplace. I had been using chome editor, but this interface is less complex and user friendly. Not sure if your looking for feedback, but I'll offer some anyway .
I like the contacts panel, but it displays companies rather than person's name as the default. If the company field is empty, then it defaults to name. I think having the name always as the default would be more popular. Just my 2cents. Thanks for the great app.

Thanks! By the way, I updated the first post to include instruction on how to make weather panel work for Non-US cities.
For Melbourne, you'd use "wc:ASXX0075"
just found your app through the marketplace. the weather and contacts tab was the only thing that I missed from touchflo3d, now my home screen looks just like I want to
it works great! I tried showaco's chome editor before with no luck.
the only thing missing (for me) is an opera favorites panel (or just launch opera instead of internet explorer from the favorites panel) and the search panel also opens internet explorer by default, I would like it to open opera.
thanks for your work
I'm also getting the Titaniumalloy.exe bug but I'm using a touchpro2 with mighty rom.
Really a nice app! With the MarketPlaceRegionSwitch it was easy to install on a German device.
Just one Problem so far: The weather plugin shows the temperature in °F. How do I switch to °C? And german texts would also be nice...

To switch it to celsius:
Run Home Screen Customizer

As for translation to other languages, I could use some help Google and Bing's machine translations are not good enough.

Thanks for the info. But wouldn't it be better to place this setting on the page (below the zipcode) instead of "hiding" it in the menu?
Regarding the translation: I can try to help you. Just post the string file(s) here or send it/them to me (the address is on my website).
Marketplace doesn't think this is for Sprint TP2?
On my desktop, it says I've 'bought' Customizer, but it doesn't have it to download on my phone. It doesn't find it when I search for it either. And yes, I'm set for US English, though at one point on desktop it thought I was in Australia?
Thoughts?

Thanks Peter. I agree with you. In general I'd like the UI to be better, but right now the weather panel UI is just what I had time to put together. I have some offers for doing translation, and I still need to put together all the strings being used when I get a chance. Once I have that complete list then I can seek out more help for translation. Thanks!

Other than that, nice simple app.

Unfortunately this is quite difficult and beyond my ability... Hopefully at some point HTC will redesign Manila with plug-ins in mind. Until then... we can only bug them to do it!
Other languages might be a good addition
Thought this would have a Manila look and feel. Still, good work.
Shame you're going to end development here as I know a lot of users would like a more workable and full-featured task management in Leo.
Priority levels and due dates are now included in the new version

I hope HTC will open manila up a bit more to the devs. I know in theory how to do it, but it's a lot of work like you say. If I had the time I might have a bash at it. First job will be to tweak the layout xml (mode9). Anyways...
Very nice app! Maybe you could add a simple category editor and the possibility to pick a category from a drop down box when you edit a task.
I like the layout.

Categories for the time being are generated automatically based on what can be found in tasks... A nicer editor is my current priority though
A really nice application. Congrats. I would love to be able to use selected text options in the edit field (long press in the memo box) so I could copy, cut and paste. This is something I really miss and everybody too.
Additionally it would be great if you could scroll with your finger not using the vertical scrollbar but directly in the text (just like you can in Message Compose in Manila)
Great app.
Great!
Hi All,
This app looks simple and spot on in my mind. Cannot imagine why HTC has left out task capabilities in HTC Sense (and why the standard today plugin task app in windows mobile is so basic)... anyway: this would make out the perfect fit for me, IF it had possibility to filter out future tasks (so that only todays due - or overdue tasks would be shown). Great work anyway!
... but "please please" as for the filtering option
/Lars
Some of the requests are now implemented in the new version

Oh my, not another tab in Manila! Information about tasks on the Home tab that is clickable and allows to launch an appropriate application is the way to go for sure.

Widgets crashing on restart
Has anyone else noticed certain widgets crashing/not starting on reboot? I've noticed two particular widgets not starting on reboot:

2) Dark Sky
Netflix WAS added. Sucks that you can't uninstall, just disable, but the bigger point is let US decide what we do and don't want, not you Leeco.

[ROOT] Switcher 4K for Z5/XZ/XZ2 Premium v1.3

Switcher 4K
Hi,
I built a simple app that allow you to quickly switch the virtual resolution between default 2K and 4K without a computer.
Unfortunately, since the command is not available on the userland, the process needs superuser permission to change virtual resolution.
If you somehow manage to break your resolution, especially leading to crash loop of Xperia Home, check on other topics how to restore the original values.
Since the custom feature can be "dangerous" for the reasons above, I added a check when save and switch custom values to avoid any resolution under [email protected] (Z5 Compact default values).
Min Android version: 6.0
Target: 9.0

v1.2: Implemented customization button and form. Values are saved in app storage.
v1.1: Implemented App Shortcuts (Android 7.1+).
Switching to 2K now reset to OEM values, not set 1080p ones.
v1.0: Release.
Planned in future releases (low probability..):
Code:

* Widget with buttons, maybe.
* Any idea?

Yes, it is one of the goal of this app, being able to switch back to 1080p without a PC to use apps that doesn't support 4K.
The phone app is the most common known issue.
Is the battery consumption less?
Not much for usual usage, I suppose much if you play 3D games.
There is another topic I don't remember where speaking about this.
When set to 4k, the phone app no longer goes. g8141

Get the screen flashing light and dark like screens messed when it's not though works perfectly. Then suddenly get flickering
Wow looks like weird...
What definition are you using ?
As described looks like a screen issue of your phone.. It happens in 1080p too ?
I saw that the best dpi on the 4k resolution without crashing any app wasn't 807 but 706, 720 or 721, I don't remember exactly sorry
This app do the same job like adb command (wm resolution 2160x3840)?

As far as I know, it does the exact same thing as the ADB command (except through an app).
It said that the newest file couldn't be found (error: 410)?
I tried the older version (1.1) And the program doesn't seem to do anything, is there a way to check?

OPAodMod is an Xposed module that provides OnePlus devices on OxygenOS and HydrogenOS with an always on display like that on the Pixels (and other devices). It's existed for a while, but in the last few months stopped working due to the main developer (RetroX) moving on to another device. I picked it up, and after initially providing modded versions with only fixes and simple additions, was kindly given access to the full source code. OPAodMod has now been fully translated, with a new GUI which is easier to use.
Features:
Always on display, which runs all the time - unlike the OnePlus version
Customisable layout, with options including seven themes, including Pixel and OnePlus (OnePlus supports all the system clock styles too), and a DVD screensaver (it's exactly what you think it is)
Notification display, showing the text of a notification when you receive it and dropping back to just an icon after a few seconds
Live music lyrics on supported themes
Battery Optimisation options such as forcing doze and setting the refresh rate to 60Hz when the AoD is showing
Option to only display when you 'raise' your phone
Option to hide the screen when flipped/in your pocket, disable it overnight, or after a time period (10 minutes or 15 seconds)
Show your next alarm, current weather, and currently playing music
Display a short message (like that on your lockscreen)
Full settings GUI for the module with a live preview of your clock
Quick Settings toggle to enable/disable the AoD
Support for Ambient Music Mod for displaying ambient Now Playing tracks on the AoD

- Enable the module in EdXposed or TaiChi
- Follow the Required Setup in the app
- Reboot your device
- Check the AoD is working and set it up how you like

Thanks! Just to confirm, this has burn-in protection implemented? Any idea on the impact in the battery life?

Yes, this has burn in protection. The battery life does take a noticeable hit, I'm looking at ways to mitigate it better.

Thanks for confirming! I'll try it out. Looking forward to more features and optimizations.
This is awesome!
Just installed it now and it works AMAZING!
One thing I really wish it had is the Fingerprint unlock option on the AoD, but i'm guessing it might be a bit more work.
Is there a way I can participate in the development of the module?

Fingerprint works on the AoD. Chances are because you've just rebooted, it's falling back to the PIN. When it works from the lockscreen, it'll work on the AoD.
Unfortunately while I was given access to the source code privately, it's still not open source so there's no public development access.

I just noticed that the FP does indeed work, but the FP icon is not showing for some reason.
I'm on OP7TP McLaren if that helps.
It does show up on the lockscreen, though.

That's kind of intentional, though I would like to add an option to make it show an indication of where the sensor is. It's more minimal without it though.

Yes, it's minimalistic-looking without it, but it would be nice to have it toggleable
If I remember correctly, in RetroX's version it was impossible to hide notification text for apps that weren't China-specific. Is that still the case?

There's a short list of apps that are hidden with the toggle enabled:
I'll probably add a GUI to edit them at some point, but might just add some package names to the list before that.

Thanks for the info! Also, I don't know if it's technically possible, but consider following the system settings for hiding sensitive content on the lockscreen instead of a separate GUI/toggle. I currently have that enabled for messaging and mail apps and it works on the OnePlus ambient display as well.

It would be possible, but I'd prefer to leave it as a separate toggle for now. I'll maybe change it to default to match the system when I add the GUI to pick apps though.
Hi! I love the module, well done! I think it would be cool if you could also add a quicksettings toggle which makes it possible to easily turn the AOD on and off.
Just wanted to confirm, this is for rooted devices only? No way to get this without rooting? Great work, nonetheless.
New bugfix release, version 3.0.1b
Fixes:
- No longer shows 'null' for twelve on word clock
- Added translations for charging states
- Added the following apps as sensitive apps:
-> OnePlus SMS
-> OnePlus Phone
-> Google Phone
-> Google Messages
-> WhatsApp
-> Facebook Messenger
-> Facebook
-> Telegram
-> Instagram
-> Snapchat
-> Discord
-> Twitter
-> VK
-> Сбербанк Онлайн
-> Raiffeisen Online Russia
An app picker will be added later, this is just a stopgap.
Download is attached and also attached to first post

Not possible without root, no.
thanks for this app. Unfortunately couldnt get the "AOD only when phone is raised" option to work on 7T. stays on all the time. Would be nice if it could work on 7T as well! thanks
Hey guys,
I'm so glad to have come across this mod. I've been using this mod on my OnePlus 6 since a couple of hours. I can already say it consumes lesser power than the AOD on custom ROMs.
Thanks a lot!
Sohail
This is great, will there be a slider to change display brightness? Or maybe a way to shut off a checkerboard of pixels to reduce the effective brightness?
