Root ZTE Vital/Supreme? - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hi, I'm extremely new to rooting and android hacking. Recently I tried to root my galaxy S2 4G and ended up hard-bricking the thing. I purchased a new phone from Virgin Mobile (yes, I use virgin) and it's the ZTE Supreme, which is otherwise known as the sprint vital, but this is the virgin version of it. This phone is great, only I am upset that it's only packing android 4.1.2. Is there any method I can use to root this phone and flash a custom OS, or maybe even a newer version of android for it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

[Q] Need Help, Want to safely root GTN-7105 without tripping knox

Greetings fellow Android Users! Hope you are doing fine wherever you are. I have been following this forum for quite sometime now and decided to write this new thread because i am in need of help. I am new to android having changed from blackberry a few months back and decided to get the Galaxy Note II GT-N7105. For the past few weeks, i have been thinking whether or not to root my phone to get better customisation of your device but is afraid of tripping the warranty with KNOX. I would not think twice if i surpassed my warranty period but i've only gotten this phone for about 5 months and it really got me thinking. I am residing in HongKong now and purchased my phone from there. I did some research on this forum and came across this thread: " http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2618261 " and would like to ask a few questions regarding this matter.
Here are the details of my phone:
Model No : GT-N7105
Android Version : 4.3
Baseband version : N7105ZHEML1
Build Number : JSS15J.N7105ZHUENA1
I want to know if any of you GT-N7105 (Hong Kong Phones or any other) users have successfully rooted your device without Tripping KNOX, hence does not void the warranty, using the method on the thread i posted above or any other method? And also, If you have successfully rooted your device, do you recommend installing a custom recovery like Philz Touch in order for you to flash a Rom? Will you be able to also update the latest software from OTA (Samsung official) if they released it? Or you have to manually do that? I appreciate your time reading this new thread i hope you guys can help me. Have a nice day :good:

Galaxy s4 on metro PCS, help me help a friend please

I have a buddy who just ordered a galaxy s4 and what he is most interested in is getting his tethering to work without limits, or getting charged extra. He plans to connect it on metro pcs. I'm on T Mo and I don't have an s4. I've had one b4 tho and I'm quite familiar with Odin. First question is: are there different root methods to use for different versions of android (ie kit kat vs LP) or will odin work for either? And question 2: given that he is on metro pcs, can his hope for tethering become a reality? I believe metro uses t mo service, correct?
Thanks in advance!
1) While Odin is not a root method, it will work with kitkat and lollipop, but lollipop hasn't been released for T-Mobile or metropcs so the popular root methods to choose from are cf-auto-root or towelroot. You can read on them and their pros and cons in other threads.
2) Yes. And correct, but carrier doesn't matter much
Just thought I'd share this:

[Q] ATT SM-T707A Current Firmware rootable?

Hi folks,
I'm a bit confused after reading many threads.
I'm thinking of buying an ATT SM-T707A. But I don't want an unrootable device. The locked bootloader is very annoying but for the use I have in mind the lack of custom OS options isn't a big deal. But I need root.
So, I presume a new one from ATT or online will have (or rapidly update to) Lillipop. Is Lollipop rootable on the ATT 8.4 707A?
Marc
Hey,
I'd like to know this too please... the only way I have seen people rooting the T707A is with Kingroot - I just tried now and LP and it doesn't work
Cheers,
Su
