[Q] root on stock rom - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I have a new xperia z1 compact with the mobile branding on Android 4.3. There are some root features which I used on my old xperia s. But I want to use the pre-installed stock ROM on my z1c.
So my question is: is is possible to root the pre-installed ROM and preserve the capability of updating my phone from Sony?

After the tutorial you should end up having a bootloader locked, rooted stock ROM with OTA update capability.

Can anyone help me with rooting my SONY XPERIA SL...
root
my english is so bad, sorry. website have a lot root method.such as dooMLoRD Easy Rooting Toolkit v16(it can be used to unlock& lock, but you must But you have to see the supported models and version number does not meet your compliance.(The latest version can be used basically)
Or flash kernel with Recovery, then flash the root package.(phone must be unlocked).
This is what I copied a paragraph:
this WILL WORK on both LOCKED & UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER DEVICES!
beginning from v13 now you only need to be on the corresponding firmware! any customization SHOULD work
FROM [S/Ion/AcroS][ROOT] DooMLoRD Easy Rooting Toolkit (v16) {perf_event exploit}[20130706
Notice: you mus installed driver before root!
Not working with my JB 6.2.B.0.200

Root for 14.3.A.0.757?
Hi,
Am quite new to the sony xperia device and if this is the wrong place to post this question, kindly ignore..
I have a Sony Xperia z1 Compact (D5503) device running 14.3.A.0.757 (latest sony update using PC Companion). This device has not been unlocked and has not been rooted at all.
My question - is there any way to root this phone at the current level i.e. 14.3.A.0.757 (with or without downgrading) without unlocking the bootloader?
Thanks for any support in advance.

If your BL is locked then you'll need to downgrade using the guide in the general section.

First of all I'm New to Z1 Compact Thread so Please bear with me
Basically, I want to Root my Z1 Compact running 5.0.2. And Flash Custom ROM afterwards. Now my Question is, do i need to unlock bootloader first before rooting? or can i just root my device first and then unlock my bootloader after? And is there any direct way to root 14.5.A.0.242? or i need to downgrade first to kitkat and then do the root process? Any reply is greatly appreciated. Thanks! :good:
