Hi,
How much would you charge just for the dock. I've got a few cables.
Thanks,
Victor

~$10 I think

Just order this, http://dx-box.com/high-performance-...e-magnetic-connection-and-charging-speed.html

ok that's awesome, you know what? i have a interesting idea thanks to you, have you ever seen a multimedia dock for the Z1? (yeah me either) but with the 3D print tech we can make one! i have a mhl adapter (samsung) and i connect my smartphone with that to the TV, but feels really unconfortable and no ergonomic
Maybe it not be hard to design a dock where we can fit the mhl adapter, and put one hole to fit the micro usb connector and put the phone with the metal flap opened and dont obstruct (that is one of the most annoying thing to try to fit a Xperia in any multimedia dock)

car charger and protective case

anyone recommend one of these?
also need a couple protective cases, what's good?
the one listed for the Aria should be fine. you just need one with a micro USB connector. I have a power outlet to USB port adaptor in my car, and just use a normal USB cable for charging. saves me the hassle of buying a new charger each time i get a new phone.
i haven't felt the need for a case yet, so no recomendations from me there.
I can't find it on the website, but Walmart has a DC car charger with just two female USB ports, which is awesome, would actually let you charge two USB devices at the same time using the original charge cable. (Also, since HTC is awesome enough to use normal mini-USB ports, a replacement cable is like $10, not $29 as with iPhone). Anyone have one of these that can confirm it works with the Aria?
Like others said, you don't need a car charger specifically for the Aria. Just look for the cheapest micro (not mini) usb charger you can find. I picked one up from my local Fry's for $4.
I have two Honda CRV's and both come equipped with USB port.
Does that mean that any 'ol generic miniport connector will work as "a charger" ?
If anyone comes up with a suggestion for "cradling" inside car, please post
Thanks for the replies.
does this page list the device that is recommended ? the 3.99 item?
maybe these
or also on dealextreme.com
i just bought one off of amazon for a penny.

any reason this cable would NOT work with Aria ?

Any microUSB cable should work, that is the beauty of companies that stuck with connector standards.
a great place for cables is monoprice.com. really cheap price for great quality stuff. I grabbed 4 microUSB cables, an HDMI, and some component cables from there for less than $10.

Problems finding chargers to fit in usb port on phone...

i have some micro usb plugs and for some reason they dont fit all the way into the usb port on my captivate and keep falling out....anyone know where to get car chargers that fit all the way in? most plugs have to thick of a plastic and wont go all the way into the port....the one that came with the captivate has thin plastic around the plug itself..
Take a sharp blade and trim some of the plastic off at a 45 degree angle, worked for me.

I bought the Motorola car charger from ebay for like seven bucks and it fits perfect and is really long. I use a Nokia cable for charging at home and my Samsung cable stays in my travel bag since I'm on the road about three or four days a week. All fis excellent.
I ordered a car charger for like six bucks and usb cable for approx 4 bucks from amazon. Both were original Samsung products and the ends are shaped just like the cable that came with the phone, fits perfect. Just search for Samsung car charger andSamsung usb cable on amazon, if you haven't found an alternate solution.

Before you go out and buy a new cord, are you sure that you are opening the hatch all the way? My wife thought that no cords fit and kept falling out until I showed her that you have to slide the USB open until it clicks.
Is it that hard to figure this out? Sand paper or a sharp knife can shave away the plastic on the cable. The side that faces the back of the phone is where they interfere just bevel it a bit and you are all good. forget the stock over priced stuff, I get my cables at the dollar store.

Out of the 4+ charging stations I have laid out at home/work, each one has had the MicroUSB plug modified with a razor blade. Takes all of 10 seconds to hack off a little rubber, and then you're all set.
I've had the same issue. Most chargers wont fit. I think the USB on the phone is recessed a little too much for most chargers. Do what everyone else says and hack a little of that rubber off so it fits!

I use my old Moto Q wall charger at home, and the stock cord for connecting to my desktop. At work I use the USB cable from my old Moto Q and the stock plug part for charging at work and connecting to my laptop. I got my bases covered. ;-)

I bought a charger at Walgreens at all places.. it was 14 bucks and I didn't need to cut anything
I bought Motorola mini to micro usb adapters and they fit just fine. Seems like Motorola OEM stuff is small enough by my experience and other's above. I had tons of mini sized chargers for my GPS, camera, and Blackberry so the adapters have allowed me to keep using them. I bought a pack of 5 for less than $20 on Amazon.

L shaped Micro USB cable that inserts other way around

My Xperia Arc S has an L shaped micro USB cable. However it inserts at the top of the phone and the cable leads from the top instead of trailing down the side. I want to use my phone in the car for GPS satnav but the cable is awkward and Copilot does not switch to vertical portrait (Upside down). All the other micro USB cables will stick out sideways. Are there no L shaped cables that are switched on the insert?
Have a look for straight angled ones on ebay- you can get them for cheap on there
i think you look for something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Sony-L-...s_Adapters&hash=item3a74000cb9#ht_1677wt_1187

Xperia S comes with that cable, you can check your local Sony dealer about it
I got a cheap one off Amazon.co.uk plus it has a thin flexible cable which means it puts less pressure on the port. It works great in the car!

Acro S - Active Car Holder

I'm searching for an Active Car Holder (Cradle / Dock) for the ACRO S.
with the DK200 Charger Cradle Dock it is easy to Charge the Acro at home.
So do I stick the DK200 into the car. or there is a better possibility.
I would need exactly the same. Only problem is that the desktop cradle holds the phone vertically, but I need it on my dashboard horizontally. For watching TED, navigation, etc.
Options I found so far:
- buy another desktop cradle ($10 on ebay), cut it into two and modify it so the connectors come out from the bottom --> would be ugly I am afraid
- buy a cradle for another phone from KIDIGI , and try to push Acro S into that. For example Xperia S or HTC Incredible has very similar sizes, but I cannot test if it fits unless I buy one... and then I would need to hack it as well to put the connector pins to the bottom
I don't like either options... if anyone would have any other ideas, please let me know

Sorry for being out of topic, but for the cradle, do we just pull out the phone, cause it seems like I am going to break either one every time I do it.
I built my own active cradle ...
I bought a cheap hard case from ebay and I modified it so the phone will get in and out easy, then I glued on it some springs for the power connections and I also installed a micro-usb port so I can use any regular car charger with a micro-usb connector.
I also attached to it a suction cup with a multi-angle orientation leg.
I used epoxi resin to put everything together and the final device is extremely functional. I still have to build a case around the springs and micro-usb connector in order to have it "like from the factory".
I'll attach some photos tomorrow (currently the holder is in the car and outside is raining ... not to mention is midnight here )
yeah please please photos - can not sleep before
The photos, as promised
As I already said, is still work in progress (regarding the finishing of the case around the springs and the microusb port) but it is 100% functional.
VERY GREAT WORK :good:
From which Telephone is the cheap hard case?
Which Material are the springs?
This is the exact case I bought (but you can find even cheaper): http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300795656907
As for the springs, those are from a battery holder. you can use even the spring from a mechanical pen.

Nice! Would like to mimic that.
I have a USB cable wih plug that I could glew to the back of a cradle, like you did. But what wires from the cable should be connected to the phone? And also, does anyone have any thoughts on the voltage and current that the Acro S expects on that connection? Regular USB values or a bit more?
Frank
Good
Very great work
I know the stock charger is 5v 1.5amp

only a passiv holder. No active car-holder. You must put the USB-Charger extra.

Hi, I've recently bought micro USB slot - the same as in the picture, but I can't connect it, I do not know which pin is the power supply. I tried 1 and 5, but it did not work. :crying: Does anyone can help me?

USB-C Docks

Hey guys, I was wondering if there were any good USB-C docks available. It'd be nice if it was compatible with Quick Charge. Thanks for any information!
I am very pleased with the FanTEK USB Type-C Smartphone Charging Dock Station which cost me only £8. The Axon 7 sits in it nicely, even when it is in a Spigen Rugged Armor Case. I don't know if this dock is QC compatible, though I doubt it as the USB cable from the dock is quite slim, and there is no mention of QC in the product description on Amazon.
added to my wishlist!

There are a lot of these docking stations. Same design/product but another brand or seller.
Mine looks the same and its okay. The dock has no weight, so you have to hold the dock down while removing the phone. I wish it would be heavier so i could use only one hand and lift it out.
Also the phone can easy lean to the left or right, because it only stands on the usb port. More stabilisation to the side would be great.
Wouldnt by this again. If nearly all new phones have usb-c, the docking stations will be more and better on the market. actual, there seems no very good one.
i hope my english isnt this bad :/
Using one of these... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B017K46T1M/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_jVnCAb6828WWR ...with an Aukey QC3.0 wall charger block and it quick charges fine. Plus it has a height adjustable USB c connector to make it easier to plug in if you are using a chunky case.

Your English is good thanks. I agree with your comments: this dock is cheap and does what I need, but anyone buying it should expect to use 2 hands to remove the phone from the dock.
