Touchscreen sensitivity lagging - Huawei Ascend P6, Mate

Anyone else seem like touchscreen sensitivity on P6 i a bit laggy ? But to understand by what i mean with laggy you must have had a snappy phone before that... It's like for example on the app drawer (i use apex launcher), or anywhere that you have to scroll, you move your finger like 1 cm before the screen actually starts scrolling... Any thaughts on this ? And please do not recommend any app from Google Play, i have tried them all and no improvement. Attached screenshots of my homescreen and app drawer. May i mention that all the settings in my phone are optimised or speed, like drom the developer menu animations and all the rest are set to off, in apex launcher all animations are off, gloves mode on/off, nothing works

There is something wrong with the GPU drivers I believe, our gpu doesn't only suck at 3D but it sucks horribly at 2D also (even SGS2 has better 2D performance). For example a very simple process for the GPU to render: try pulling down the notification bar - it just feels sluggish and not snappy at all on the P6 compared to even the SGS2. Vivante is horrible and Huawei has to do something about it (either release the drive sourcecodes or improve the GPU ALOT.

[Q] Slow Screen Orientation Rotation?

Running a non-rooted G2.
Anyone else notice sluggish screen rotation when going from landscape to portrait or vice versa? It seems like it takes over 1s to switch, closer to 1.5s I would say just trying to count out loud.
The only running apps I have besides the stock ones are Tasker, LauncherPro Plus, Beautiful Widgets (1 large widget on homescreen), BattStat, and SwiftKey.
Any way to adjust the speed at which the screen switches orientation?
Thanks
LP+ does have its moments where it slows down. Original launcher is nicee enough no need to replace it
I've noticed a couple glitches related to this now that I've rooted. It's slow, then it shows the icons and even on screen keyboard in smashed or stretched pixels before it changes orientation. Just for a split second but it's annoying and never did it before.
Yeah, I don't know why the automatic screen rotation is so slow with LauncherPro.
My solution for now was to disable the auto rotate under LauncherPro's Behavior Settings.
The G2 switches instantly to landscape mode for you once you slide out the physical keyboard. No lag this way, but you don't get it to change orientation unless you slide out the keyboard.
I've noticed this too! I thought I was the only one. The funny thing is that when you're in a program that needs the accelerometer there is no lag, but on homescreen there is that slight delay when rotating from portrait to landscape.
I've had this issue with SF, corrected by setting desktop scrolling speed to 0 on ADW launcher setting.
Not sure if this will work on your device.

[Q] Vertical Scroll lag in DEFY

I'm planning to buy the Motorola DEFY. I was able to try out a demo piece for some time at a store .... It seems to have a vertical scrolling screen with icons as well as a set of horizontal scrolling home screens with icons. While the horizontal scrolling seems snappy, the vertical scrolling seems a bit laggy. As I install more apps, will the vertical scroll lag increase further. What's the point of having both those screens anyways ? Most phones just one horizontal scrolling ?
Horizontal is similar to your desktop. You put shortcut of apps or widgets based on your preferences. The vertical is the one where all apps are located. This is where you get the apps you want to put in the horizontal for easy access. lag can be reduced depending on the number of apps and settings

Hi!
The lag is, I believe, for the caching of icons. Because, once icons are cached (meaning you have been through all icons in the vertical main menu) try scrolling and it will be buttery smooth! Ofcourse, the more the apps, the more time it takes to get the icons cached, so more lag. But what I have noticed is that even though the main menu has been cached, the lag appears unpredictably. I suggest launching apps frm search since its faster.

As mentioned, the more apps you add, the slower it may get.
But maybe the android version (eclair, froyo, gingerbread?) on the phone you used wasn't too much up to date, or some laggy application was running, these could have affected the performance of the phone.
I use LauncherPro on my Defy (gingerbread CM7) and it has the option to hide (unused, unwanted) apps on the app drawer, which also increases speed.

[conv] motion capabilities

hey all
i would just like to start a thread talking about the motion capabilities of our phone, commenting on them, and also thinking about new motion uses that may be able to be implemented into roms!
firstly, i love the motion features on the phone, i use the zooming very often in the gallery and browser. I never use the motion to switch icons from screen to screen, particularly because i only use 1 homescreen and i use ADW and i dont think it works with ADW.
one thing that bothers me is that the two finger motion zooming does not work when you are viewing images in the camera app, you HAVE to be in the gallery app. why when you click on the image icon in the camera app it brings you to a different viewer and not the gallery, is there anyway we can change this?
maybe it would be pretty cool to be able to switch pages in a program like Google Currents by quickly flicking the phone left or right from your wrist....any thoughts?
id like to see a feature like the incredible 2 has, that when your phone rings on a table, the volume of the ringer quiets as you lift it up. i would like this in addition to the flip mode, which is pretty friggin sweet too
what great ideas for motion features do all you have? and what do you think about the current useage of it?

Minor things HTC *needs* to fix & fast

Aside from the major issues that some (But certainly not all) people have been having with corruption/screen flicker there are still quite a number of minor issues that could do with a bit of work.
Live wallpaper bug w/ Rosie
Certain games that should not lag end up lagging (Despite CPU usage being quite low throughout). A good example of this is stair dismount. Shadowgun THD on the other hand runs smooth as butter. Obviously, a driver update is necessary.
Although very infrequent, the interface stutters from time to time. HTC need to fix 2D hardware rendering.
HTC Gestures causes far too many issues. It needs to be fixed, not just disabled.
Camera framerates can dip even in good lighting conditions. HTC needs to either up the bitrate or find some other way of increasing framerate. The phone and sensor are certainly capable of it.
The stock android widgets are incredibly laggy and don't update properly (The GMail widget in particular). The Sense mail widget is fine so it's certainly not for lack of performance.
If anyone else has any issues (EXCEPT FOR SCREEN FLICKERING as that doesn't affect everyone) could you please add to that list so we can send it to HTC?
I know this has been said in many threads. But the laggy scrolling between homescreens is driving me nuts. Its not bad unless you have a lot of widgets. This is even using HTCs wigets.
Download Apex and add as many wigets as you want. Smooth as butter. So the phone is more than capable of handling this.
Also - When using live wallpapers the animations stop for a sec when swiping between homescreens. This also should not happen. It also works flawlessly on apex.
I wish they would fix the unresponsive screen issue. Can't tell you how many times over the last few days I've nearly thrown the damn phone up a wall while trying to play a game and the screen has stopped registering 1 or all touches
Have you turned off HTC Gestures? I had the exact same problem until I turned it off.
-Double push headset button to skip song
-Bluetooth Audio lags
-Option to change multitask button en disable on-screen menu button
-MUCH better performance
-MUCH better power management
-Browser lags!
-Camera sensor is véry high-end, so somehow it must be the software that makes the picture look worse than my old SGS II camera. (both on default setting)
Please HTC don't dissappoint us, the hardware is perfect so don't screw up the software

Laggy And shuttering UI & apps

Hey,
I replaced my iPhone SE with Huawei Nova 3 and I am experiencing a little bit laggy UI. Especially in third party apps like messenger and Instagram. When new message comes and I click on the messenger popup(circle which is always on top) then animations are shuttering and are a bit laggy. The same happens in Instagram apps when looking at the stories, then doing gesture to leave stories (slide down) and then u see these shuttering animations. Is anyone experiencing similar issues? Maybe it is android issue, but I am just not used to these kind of lags on iOS.
You will hardly see lags from iOS unless it's a badly coded app or it's run out of memory. I've experience this on the Nova 3i and I just replaced the launcher with Nova Launcher (fitting names) to reduce the lags. Especially when opening apps and transitions. Also disable any apps to launch on their own after a reboot helps sometimes.

It helped a little bit but still. Instagram just behaves weird, still the same problem occurs. I think android apps are just not yet optimized for this weird resolution, because when launching app for the first time, I see in ca half of the apps that they are somehow resizing themselves too match the required resolution (and that is also when some resizing/shuttering is encountered).

On my device there's an option to disable full screen per app. But on my device IG supports full screen. I do notice fb, fm, IG, flipboard lags when scrolling especially when there are posts with videos. And especially with videos that autoplay. I notice the same lags on my iPad pro 12.9" also. I always disable autoplay on the apps.
