TOP ELEVEN is not compatible? - G Pad 8.3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.
I've just bought a LG G Pad. Quite pleased with it so far...
However, the Play Store doesn't allow me to install top eleven which is quite hard to understand since I'm with the latest 4.2.2 official ROM and I've played TOP ELEVEN in any device with 4.2.2
Can anyone help me to sort how to install the game on my G PAD?
I was looking for a solution that allowed my to stay with the official ROM or, at least, a cooked one that used the LG laucher, since I do wnjoy the looks of it.
Thanks in advance

Doesn't work on tablets. Is my 3rd tablet and dont work on any.

[Q] Turn the v500 into a v510 (Google Play Edition)

Hi!
I'm planning on buying the LG G Pad 8.3, but I live in Brazil and the Google Play Edition isn't available here. However, I really love the simple UI and clean software-design from Google (I have a Moto G, as well) and I've alson seen some people saying that, sometimes, there are a few performance issues with the G Pad that isn't the Google Play Edition due to, mainly, LG's bloats. I'd like to know whether it's possible to flash the stock ROM (download it from somewhere) and, basically, turn the v500 into the v510 (GPe). So, is it possible? If it is, is it also necessary to change the kernel? And, if so, has anyone done it before / could it brick the tablet? I'd like to buy one soon, because of the price and good specs, but I'm not keen on the software-design by LG and I'd like to have a "original" system running on it, not some modified/customized cyanogen stuff (although, if that's my only option to a better performance, I'd probably choose it).
Thanks a lot!
Hello,
You can simply install CM11 + gapps, you've got something close to GPE.
Hahaha...you need to root the G Pad to install stock Android ROM. Maybe You can find the stock ROM here on xda developer...but root the device first.

Right...
The only problem I've encountered is not finding the Stock ROM from the Google Play edition... And I've seen the CM11 based version, I just don't like the setting menu from CM11, but maybe I'll do that. The main thing I want is the virtual button to show the recent apps that is simply non existant on the non-GPe edition!

On stock ROM : long press home button !
I know that, I've seen some videos about it already... But I don't like it and it's a functionality that Google has considered obsolete since Android 3.0 and, for some stupid reason, LG and their GREAT software-designers still implement it. They really should follow Motorola on this regard, as they are releasing new phones with no bloat at all, using basically what would be a Nexus version of their phones.
P.S.: FOUND A TOPIC ABOUT THIS IN GENERAL FORUM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51834016
Basically, it doesn't work due to small hardware differences (WiFi and Bluetooth seem to fail after flashing the v510 stock ROM). However, I believe an AOSP ROM is still an option for better performance.

I cannot begin to imagine why that is desirable, where everyone would have the same phone experience. Very boring.
In any case I agree that LG has done some GREAT stuff with the software. If you buy a G Pad, you will see for yourself.
How do we install CM11 + gapps? There is no playstore app?

[Q] lg gpad wifi

I like this tablet over the gaalxy tab3 for the specs and screen. What o want to know is I'm getting this for my elderly mom so I would like a google play edition rom for this tablet. I know when I had a m7 before they had a rom that was set up just like the google play edition. I don't want cm or aokp I just want stock google. Where can I get this? Also how do I root and install recovery for this thing. I know thus has been asked before but I work alot and I'm trying to get this done on the fly (at work and on break)
Thank you
You can't get a stock google rom. The devs have tried and failed.

If you're getting this tablet for your mom, then you shouldn't root it or install any other roms, just update the tablet to the latest LG kitkat update and it will feel good.

If you want the Google Play experience for her why don't you buy the GPE version (V510)?

Because they didn't have a used one on swappa. Thought there might be a rom there. Buckaroo
The original 4.4.2 Stock ROM is just great and very, very easy to use even though it has so many cool features (Infrared, knock on,...).
e.g. For the LG G2 it's quite some work to get the IR blaster to work with other ROMs and i think it's the same here.
I wouldn't install any other ROM! (Not hear this from me often!) It's perfect and just works! I installed the xposed modules, which makes it even better.

I wish I could agree with this. Where KK runs great, the SD card issue blows big time.

Worth upgrade 4.2 to 4.4.2 V20A ?

Hi guys,
I recently bought a lg g pad, and it comes with 4.2.2. I wonder if it worths to upgrade the tab to 4.4.2 V20A since i read that there is problems with micro sd cards (reading/writting ?)
I don't want to root or to flash custom rom.
What do you guys think ?
Thank you.
Sure it does!
LG G Pad with TapTalk Pro
Why ^^ ? (not trolling but what reason makes it worth to upgrade, im a little worried because I saw in this forum people trying to downgrade 4.4 to 4.2 so I'm asking)
V50020a/b is buggy (sdcard problem, auto brightness problem, smart cover bug). But they fixed most of the bugs in the new 20d ROM. The 20d is likely the last update that the tablet will receive.

I'm happy with how my G Pad is working with 4.4.2. Your really need to root it and then use SDfix so it does behave like 4.2 on SDcard access, etc. I'm using ES file explorer and it works great accessing the sdcard.
yes its worth it , however the way kitkat handles files is different to jelly bean , sometimes when i try to attach documents to emails it fails sometimes when i am using a 3rd party file manager, you should get knock code as well as either part of 4.4 or as a small update

Ditto for me. Kitkat is great, but not so good when it comes to using 3rd party apps that use the SD Card due to the new restrictions, so I also used SD Fix after rooting, and even foldermount to use my SDcard to store my game's GB's worth of game data. And with root, you can also install greenify to increase performance to your stock rom. (Though greenify works if youre not rooted, but you need to manually trigger the app in order to be useful where as with root, it does its magic in the background)
Not worth it. Among the problems above... Google play music doesnt work very well. This is a problem LG has with their KK firmware. My G2 had the same issue and had to flash cloudy G3 just to get it to work. That's why im hoping for G3 Rom for the GPad, but i doubt that'll happen as the development on this tab is crap.

Hi, this is completely off topic, but how is your g2 with cloudy g3?. I'm getting a new phone soon and as much as I love the g3, I will more than likely buy the g2 for £200 less.
I'm following the cloudy g3 thread with interest.
Back on topic I wasn't a huge fan of lg stock gpad. It was great for a few days, just for the change from stock androids rather dark theme. Ultimately the stock rom ended up feeling too fussy for me.
But can you not flash the update and then just flash back if you aren't happy with the results?
All the best rich

Lollipop ROM with IR Blaster

Which L ROM includes the IR feature?
Currently on 4.4.2 and haven't touched my tablet in a year.
None, unfortunately. So your choices are staying on stock or flashing another ROM and losing the IR blaster.

Third party apps are currently unable to make use of whatever chip gives IR functionality on the GPAD V500. On a side note It is amazing how badly gimped the remote app on the tablet is versus on my G3 phone...
It's been awhile but I believe the port of the Quick Remote app you can find in the G2 and G3 sections worked under CM11 on my VK810.4G, so maybe it would work under CM12, also. I know it worked under stock LG Android on the VK810.4G, and also on CM11 and CM12 on the G3.

F400S Rom Advice?

I'm running the F400S in the UK with the stock LG rom updated to 20G / Lollipop v5.0 updated by the LG PC Suite.
Unfortunately despite the rom being the official LG version, it doesn't seem to run great, has a few bugs and there's no real support forum for LG owners on the LG website.
I started having a look around last night at alternatives and I can see that there isn't a Cyanogen 12 / 12.1 rom for the F400S which is a shame. I have seen an unofficial Cyanogen mod for the F400S on the forums here, but I've also seen the Dark Knight 5.5 rom.
Cyanogen would be ideal but I see little point in installing an unsupported rom that is likely to ever be updated [which is pretty much what I have now], so I'm leaning towards Dark Knight, unless there are any other that are worth looking at?
Also, I'm in two minds as to whether I want Root or not. I use the Barclays Mobile Banking app which doesn't like rooted handsets. I'm guessing I could upgrade to a rooted custom rom, try the Barclays app with something like RootCloak and a few other tools, if it works great then leave the device rooted, but if not then remove root?
I'd be happy with a fairly vanilla Android rom [previous handset was a Nexus 4] as I don't need all the bloat that the F400S ships with. Root would be nice so I can tinker but not essential, I'd prefer my banking app to work primarily. It would also be nice to be to do card payments via NFC and an NFC app, but sadly the EE 'Cash on Tap' won't install on the F400S either because it's an unsupported device, or because of something software related. My bank also don't provide a card payments app so if anyone has any thoughts regarding that it would be appreciated.
Just looking for some sound advice please
