Looks good! Will give it a try when I get home! :good:

does it have 2-way call recording patch?

I just tried and I could not get my wifi to work. So I reverted back.
Sent from my SGH-I927 using xda premium

I confirm, wi-fi isn't working. Also, no synapse (and no support of it if installed from google store), no new governors, no zram in standard performance setting. And with this kernel there's only 721 MB of RAM instead of 722 MB RAM in stock! Where's my precious 1 MB of RAM? Is it gone forever? No way! I'll restore you from recovery, my dear, come to papa!
But it's booting and seems stable. A good work anyway, thanks bubor!

updated new one:
38ac4f4657e7ce60b34a4dada67235f6 gk_1.2-i927.zip
I dont know what with wifi, try to disable wifi from rom before updating.
My i927 has many issue, but wifi stable with this kernel
Factory reset, install cm-11-20140315-UNOFFICIAL-i927.zip, gk-1.2, and wifi work.
What rom do you use?

Ok, wi-fi works, camera works, OC to 1.2 Ghz works, I see new governors (testing Intellidemand at the moment, people say it should be less battery consuming than interactive), the only thing else I wish from kernel is a bit more RAM (819 MB in LiteKernel was great, but it caused camera to bug and wake lag, maybe there is a compromise?). Thanks to bubor once again!

Fast Charge support
Any chance you can add a patch to the kernel? This would add Fast Charge support.
This patch is for another device but it looks clean enough that it can be applied to ours without much work.
https://github.com/bruce2728/android_kernel_htc_pyramid/pull/1.patch

There was fast charge on LiteKernel, but it was removed for some reason. Maybe it was unstable.
Btw, I just restored an old backup of CM 10.1.3 (it's 4.2.2 ROM), flashed LiteKernel and... Asphalt 8 is working! Hey, I tried everything for couple of days to make it run on different ROMs, with different caches and apks, and the only thing that game needs is a bit more RAM? What a crap...
Is there also a chance of increasing RAM on grakernel? Sorry for my humble asking, I'm just a fan of Asphalt series, from the first game back on Symbian... I know you're doing dev work in leisure time and I'm Ukrainian with 130$ monthly salary, so can't even donate, but I very appreciate all your work here.

better use zram. Litekernel simply decreases reserved ram. Its very easy to implement to this kernel, but I think there is reason to reserve 280M memory.
Put ramhack version here: http://dualhoki.vim.hu/bubor/dev/grakernel/gk_1.2-i927-ramhack.zip

@Makshow asphalt 8 is working with normal kernel its self....downloading from the play store doesn't work....download apk separately....it will download the rest of the files....I am currently playing since you mentioned...

But not for me. The only way I managed to launch Asphalt 8 is that 4.2.2 android with LiteKernel. When I flashed back "stock" kernel from kick buttowski, Asphalt said me: no more! I even tried to manually close every service and program and turned on zRAM yesterday. Still crashes on launch and even doesn't show me an error message.

On the topic: encoutered Sleep-of-Death issue a couple of times when I was on Intellidemand governor OC'd to 1.1 Ghz. Switched now back to Interactive governor and no OC.

Interactive governor works as it should, smooth and stable, there was no new issues, the kernel is solid when used from the box. The only thing is the need to change CPU max clock from 1320 (default) to 1000 Mhz (this should be default I think).
But I caught wi-fi bug again - I turned it off, used my phone for a some time, and after that it doesn't turn on until reboot. Still I can't find what causes this problem. May be it's somehow related to deep sleep, because I never encountered this when the phone is on charge (the phone never goes to deep sleep on charge).
And thank you bubor and grtsarav for your help! I managed to launch that Asphalt 8! Maybe I'm just unlucky, but I downloaded apk again (not the latest 13081 version, but previous 13051), downloaded cache for third time and it launched even without ramhack. It seems that latest version of Asphalt 8 on google store is simply broken on our device.

[Q] CPU throttleed--why? and..best CPU utilization monitor?

I'm running Albinoman's JB RC3 ROM, and like it a lot. The only significant problem I have is occasional severe sluggishness. When it happens, I'll open IntelliControl and I notice either of two things going on:
1) I'll see that the max CPU speed has been reset to 664000 or something close to that (it's always the same number, but I don't remember exactly what it is...600-something). Once I crank the max limit back up to 1036800, things are good again. What keeps resetting the CPU limit to such a low level, and how do I stop it from doing that???
2) I'll see that the CPU is maxed out at 1036800, but I can't figure out what's chewing up the CPU. What tool can I use to see what process is consuming all the CPU cycles when that happens?
Thanks for the help...
1. I can't tell you why it happens... but I know it is a common problem on the JB ROMs (on the Dinc). There was quite a lot of discussion about it. I know the devs are aware of the issue and were working on it.
2. I don't know of anything that will graph percentage of cpu cycles, or anything exactly like that. But try hooking the phone up to the PC and run ddms (part of the adb tool set) and see what it is doing (or failing to do). While ddms is running in verbose mode it will give you a running output of everything the phone is doing (along with all the errors and warnings).

That's because he's using an older version of Evervolv's qsd8k-common. It was fixed on Oct 10 with Change I3a0fff83: powerHAL: fix the screen off bug. This is one of the reasons I do nightlys, is to get all the new tweaks. This bug won't be fixed in his ROM till he resyncs his source and recompiles. It's triggered by the screen turning off. There's a workaround with Tasker, but since this bug is no longer in my ROM, I quit looking at it.

For #1, a possible fix could be to use this power.qsd8k.so provided by tiny4579:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32552961&postcount=264
Replacing this file fixed the issue on Pons's ROM, but it may wreak havoc on Albinoman's, I have no way to know. Make sure you have a good nandroid backup before attempting to use it. Or, just wait for Albinoman to release a newer ROM with the problem fixed in the source.

It should work fine on Albinoman's ROM. powerHAL is a generic jellybean feature and should work on all JB ROM's. You won't need the fix however on either of Pon's ROMs whether AOKP or CM10.
I'm finding the same issue on the 11/08 build. I replaced the file with the one you uploaded, yet no change. Still reverts to 614 when the screen is off.
I'm managing it with both Incredicontrol and Juicedefender, so on wake it returns to 1075, and the SAv2 seems much smoother than interactive for me. If there's a fix in the newer builds I may flash one (if I get the time), but for now I'm really impressed by how well this one is running.
Thanks,
...sorry...I was on the phone...

It's supposed to change to 614 on screen off. The bug was that it would stick at 614 even on screen on.
I don't recommend that lib for cm. It's outdated.
Also I don't use sav2 anymore as it doesn't and won't implement project butter. Also interactive can be more aggressive than sav2 as it can jump frequency on touch via boostpulse which sav2 doesn't have.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Oh, well, then I guess I'll give the interactive another try. Maybe just needs to settle in longer. Got so used to ICS, wasn't sure what to expect from JB. Guess it's time I read back a few pages and see what else I've missed.
...sorry...I was on the phone...
Thanks, guys--appreciate the help!
Maybe its out of topic but since i still cant post on dev sub forum i wanna ask a question here to pons.

Yep, just a tad bit off topic.
I haven't had this problem before. Granted, I've never played music off my Inc, but I haven't heard anyone else complain, either. Can you PM a logcat? And it's always preferable to report errors off latest versions (currently 1120).

Try flashing to his newest build. It fixed a few problems for me and is incredibly fast. I had to reflash gapps from goo.im though because play store was force closing. Also, doubletwist is a better music player imo because it has a better interface and has good integration with the lockscreen.

[Kernel][2.268GHz][4.1.2][11/19/13] Iced_Kernel 1.9Ghz

Hello XDA peoples, Today, 11/19/13, I update the OP with my _ICED_KERNEL_ vs. MeltDown

I am still fixing my git hub right now looks like I switched repositories and made a few commits the wrong way like didnt show records quite right because of the mix. however I am going to fix that later I just realized this after looking to see if I made the kernel go to 1.89 ghz while booting up for a faster boot =] so no worries to you up and coming kernel devs I will show you how I did it on git the right way. to regular users this means nothing special to you. git is just a record of the files and text code in those files to share with others, which I def want to do since I couldn't find the coding for oc up to 1890mhz and would love to share that.

Hey Rushing, just tried this on top of JMT8 (with super cache wipe/twrp 2.6.1) and WiFi seems to be broken! Toggle in settings will not stay in ON position. Flashed back to twrp 2.6.0 because of your instructions and tried again (no cache wipe),same result. Flashed back to Tiberious 2.1 (no cache wipe) and phone booted up with WiFi on and working again.

Okay, thanks for testing I likely will never have time to flash all the ROMs and test compatibility.
I will take another stab at it. this time around all the modules will be deleted and replaced
where as in the first version the modules were expected to flash over the old ones which i guess doesnt always werk as leftovers may be uncompatible.
new build 1.1 is up thanks for testing let me know of success or failure please..
the new build works for me on my own ROM.
Wi-fi working fine here but I'm also using Rushing's Shad0w ROM. (1.1 version of kernel)
Just out of curiosity, Rushing, which of your ROMs do you use as your daily on the hercules?
Just tried 1.1 and WiFi still won't turn on with JMT8, obviously compatibility issue between the 2 of some sort. Per @aahz, kernel appears compatible with your roms Rushing. To continue the test, I'm going to flash my Shadow 1.6 nandroid tomorrow and then try 1.0 and 1.1 both just to see (and confirm). Looking forward to your next Hercules rom brother, Later

It's not because of ROM man.... It's kernel who giving random reboots.. U really should read at least few pages of it before flashing brother ... It's under development... Hope we get a stable kernel (nebula kernel ) soon.....
Till then.. Just use pre included one in ROM
Hope i helped

Nebula kernel is really unstable, I suggest you not flash it if you're planning to use it as a daily driver. Carbon/CM11 default kernel is already snappy, but if you want more governor/IO scheduler/overclocking more than 1.3 GHz then try k2wl's evolution kernel.
It still doesn't have KSM (kernel samepage merging) which is supposed to lower the RAM usage, but I think all AOSP-based ROMs are already very low on RAM usage.

The KSM feature isn't that much of a different anyway... What I'm hoping to see in next version is more frequency steps... as of now it is 312-600-800-1200-more but it should be better if like this: 100-200-312-400-500-600-700-800-900-1000-1100-1200... Hahaha maybe I'm asking a bit too much.

Why would anyone want to drop as low as 100 Mhz if 312 is good and battery saving??

Yes I think it will... because there are some apps that sync in the background (such as Google apps) even when the device is asleep. With the current frequency steps it is either Deep Sleep (no CPU activity at all) or 312 MHz... and I think 312 MHz is still too high for only background app syncing while asleep... just my 2 cents. :silly:
But I imagine people who use conservative governor will have a hard time using 100 MHz as the minimum frequency... because the governor scales the freq so slow, the phone will lag a lot longer when waking up :silly:

Thank you for effort. Could anybody compare with F1xy kernel?
Thanku @Artemka2008 and @Dblm4pda

Btw Anyone tried antutu with this kernel ?
So far, so good.
I did not yet install the custom powerhal or whatnot. What does it even do?
FYI: You have to reroot the tablet after installing this boot.img.
Anyway, of the performance profiles the high is the only useful if one watches youtube. All other profiles results in occasional jerk/lag in the video.
Deep sleep battery consumption so far has been minimal for me. Usage battery consumption might be a tad higher, at least with the high profile, which is the only useful one unfortunately.
This kernel like f1xy and Foxy all suffer from the same wifi problem that when you wake the tablet from deep sleep and wifi is turned off (wifi option Keep awake: never), it takes 30+ secs for the wifi to activate and reconnect. You can't even enable the wifi by yourself during this time, you basically have to just wait...
I haven't run any antutu etc test cos I don't care what the numbers say. All I care is how it works and feels and how the battery lasts.
I'll keep testing.
I am running LOS14 with the new blobs. Which reminds me, I think I get more of the graphical glitches now than I did before. But this all too subjective atm. to say conclusively if it is the kernel or not.

Problems with wi-fi are not due to kernels, these are the problems of the system

I am not sure what you mean by "system" in this context.
The particular wifi issue I mentioned above does not happen with a stock kernel, only with custom kernels. And it is the only wifi issue I have encountered. No breaking off, nothing else, just a slow reconnection after deep sleep. But if it is a necessary evil while changing the kernel, so be it cos with stock kernel I have much bigger problems and I rather use a custom kernel to get more fluidity of use.
Spassiba for the kernel komrad!
does this kernel support vulkan API?
I ran into a same kind of issue I have with stock kernel; After waking from deep sleep the mipad is usually slow as hell for a minute or 2. Like everything is lagging. A bit like a cold engine which is warming up.
Anyway, I moved back to F1xy cos of this which doesn't suffer from the same issue.

how long does your battery last?

Hello there guys, I've started to use this phone a week or so, and I tried a bunch of different ROMs and finally I have settled with Dot Os since is the one that worked flawlessly for me, but here's my question
How long does your battery last?
I've seen older posts complaining about this phone battery. But I wanted to check with you guys that have been using this phone with custom ROMs.
My battery last very poorly, most days I need to recharge from 2 to 3 times in the same day, I don't play games, but my screen time is long I suppose, I use it a lot to look up things in the browser or to read posts on reddit mostly.
Since this is a second hand phone I thought it could be that the battery had run its course and that it was time for a replacement, but even with a new battery the performance still far from desirable.
It's very hard to compare, because it depends a lot on your ROM, kernel, adjustments and usage !
On my side I bought the phone (a6020a46) more than a year ago, and I use it for my work with Bluetooth for the headset, but I don't use much games or browser, so it lasts around 24 hours...
Really the developers have stopped thinking about the battery life, custom roms are more focused on performance and smoothness now a days. I am watching temperature of my cpu its always above 42 C even on using whatsapp it gets heated. I was searching for Kernal with hotplug like stock kernel but didnt found. All CPU cores are working Tirelessly consuming tons of battery. I wonder whether no developer can develop a battery saving kernel with better management of cores like stock kernel developed in 2016.
It could be the ROM, but since I'm not sure what to expect from this phone in trying to first figure it out if my battery is in fact OK, so you guys recommend any app or method for that, I'm using Accubaterry and according to it my battery health is fine, but even though it can't last a whole day on the other hand I can't complain about performance, it really is fast and just works (DotOS)
Edit : yeah I think that the main source of battery drain might be the ROM itself, I've been lookin at kernel adiutor and by default all cores are always on with the minimum frequency of 960 MHz

Only kernel with hotplug turning the cores off by default I've found is the one that comes with AEX 5.7 by Harry.
See this post:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/k5-plus/development/rom-aospextended-v5-0-t3688595/post77036466
Also he added a core control to manage hotplug values.
You don't like (for whatever reason) cores being offlined all the time? Ok, go to core control and set the properly value to switch all the cores on as you like.
If you want low battery consumption, I would suggest to stay on Nougat, it's not a troll it's a fact

Honestly I don't really care if it's nougat, oreo or whatever, I'm just looking for a stable release to use as a daily driver for a while since I can't keep flashing a new ROM every day
@shubhgoan, @ghst7 here's offlining hotplug working properly on Oreo AOKP, by using Dragon Elite v1.4 kernel.
As many others custom ROMs, no way to hotplug the cores without using a custom kernel wich support that feature.
I'll be testing how much the battery lasts now.
@walterfuster let me know how it's goes, BTW can you tell me where did you find DE kernel v1.4? On the Dev section I have found only version 1.2
In the meantime I'm using AOSPEX and although the hot plug behavior is not that aggressive, it works and I already have noticed an improvement in my battery life

STEPS:
flash DE kernel doing the cache/dalvick wipes previously.
install this app:
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673791459329056791
(similar to KA)
open it and goto CPU Hotplug->Hotplug Style and select "Per-Core-Hotplug".
That's it.
Now check with CPU info overlay cores automatically being turned on/off according to needing.
@shubhgoan I corrected the link. Sorry for that bro.

yes, it makes hotplug work, turning the cores off and on independently, depending on the cpu load.
I'm in stock rom, thinking about changing to aospex, i'm just done with 2 hours of battery from the stock rom, but I've never made any custom rom stuff... So, what's the best battery life/performance rom out there?

You will have to flash ROMs and find the one that works for you, from my experience AOSPEx, Dot Os and AOKP are all pretty good, if you wish to improve your battery life you can also flash DE kernel

Hey @walterfuster sorry to bother you again, but can you answer one last question for me, are you using an external SD card? And if so is your SD card formatted in what extension, fat32 or exfat?
I'm asking because I'm using a 64gb SD card formated as Exfat, and every time after I flash DE kernel I lose access to it, I mean the system still recognize my SD card but when I navigate to it, it shows no files, they are still there I just can't access them, I just want to be sure before I have to make a huge backup to format my SD card as fat32, I'm on AEX 5.7 btw

Hi guy, oh, I don't use an external SD card, so, I can't check anything for you.
BTW, I've also tried PB2 kernel with AOKP (completely compatible), and no chance to hotplug. It's a shame, man. because it's a great kernel: no random reboots like DE 1.4, and also has overclocking!
So, only way to get hotplug on any custom Oreo is by flashing DE v1.4, AFAIK.
I also attempted a crazy thing wich was replacing AOKP boot, with the one from AOSPEX, in order to run AOKP with AOSPEX kernel, to finally get hotlugging, but, guess what: DIDN'T work. Just got an endless unicorn boot logo
