Would be even more useful if you could extract the apk's and share them, I think? Then those on the 50018 could probably install them or push them into their respective folder locations to test and see?

Q Voice is not new, as it is in the basic 4.2.2, but here it is only in Korean. LG On-screen is also not new, but was not instantly visible either. You could download it from the LG site. The last two are only for Korean cable TV, and are not streaming services, but just TV programming that can be viewed on the tablet, and a remote control.

Thank You.
***************** THE FIRST MODIFIED INDIAN FIRMWARES ******************
****************************** ENJOY ********************************
A very good afternoon to all fellow wavers!!! ;D ;D ;D I am finally done with my exams and have finished the modification to the Indian bada 1.2 (DDKD1) and bada 1.0.2 (DDJI2). ;D ;D
NOTE: For some features to work, you will have to first flash to the modified DDJI2 and then flash to DDKD1. SO I advice everyone that they flash DDJI2 (1.0.2) first. Thank you for your understanding.
Firmwares Included:
1. Modified DDJI2.
2. Modified DDKD1. Only includes the CSC and PFS files, since they are the ones which were modified. So first you will need to download the actual DDKD1 from here: http://rapidshare.com/files/459305949/DDKD1.rar (THANKS TO ROHIRRIM ) and then replace the CSC and PFS files with the files I am uploading. Sorry for the inconvenience, but my net sucks.
For those who want CALL RECORDING, I am separately uploading two files: apps_compressed.bin and a CSC file. NOTE: If you flash these two files, you will have call recording, but you won't be able to update with kies anymore. Kies will show your firmware as S8500JVKC1/S8500ODDKD1. So the choice is yours. For more detailed explanation on how to get call recording keep reading.
Links to the files:
Modified DDJI2 - http://www.multiupload.com/1P61TNH9U0
Modified DDKD1 - http://www.multiupload.com/GMBM6PPQBY
NOTE: You will need 7-zip to extract files. Its free. You can google for it. Thanks.
CHANGE LOGS:
1. Bada 1.0.2 - DDJI2:-
a. The default browser bookmarks are now editable and can be deleted.
b. Social Hub Premium
c. Max MMS size is now 600 KB.
d. Faster GPS. (Lock within a minute under clear sky. ;D)
e. Now max receiver address for messages is 100. (In original DDJI2 it was 50.)
f. Faster booting. About 10 second faster switch on and about 5 sec faster switch off.
g. The default and only CSC region is India. So no need of pre-configuration worries.
h. Deleted all the pre-installed java apps.
i. Included Utalk java locked app with background running and push notifications.
j. Changed Java heap sizes for better java app performance.
k. Increased media player, music player, recorder and VOICE CALL volumes.
l. Deleted the pre-loaded images except the default theme background image,
m. Flash and ad-blocking is now enabled as default.
n. Improved the Secondary Camera (Front Camera) recording quality and increased it's framerate.
o. Increased the youtube streaming bitrate while on wifi.
j. Includes ASPHALT 5 (v1.1.1)
2. Bada 1.2 - DDKD1
a. All the features of Bada 1.2.
b. Support for Youtube 3d.
c. All the features mentioned in DDJI2.
For Social Hub Premium with bada 1.2:
If you want to enjoy Social Hub Premium on DDKD1, you need to first flash to DDJI2. Or else it won't work.
For Call Recording:
For call recording, you will need to flash to the modified DDJI2 and then the modified DDKD1. After that you will need to flash only the apps_compressed.bin file, link to which I am posting below. BUT AS I SAID EARLIER, if you want call recording, YOU CAN'T UPDATE USING KIES ANYMORE.. Your firmware will now look as: S8500JVKC1/S8500ODDKD1 (INU). This is because the apps_compressed.bn is fro the Turkish firmware. I have also included the Turkish CSC file with Indian pre-configuration. So if you wish you can flash the CSC file too to change your CSC version also to TURKISH one.
Download link:
apps_compressed.bin: http://www.multiupload.com/T7E7ZMRKWU
CSC file: http://www.multiupload.com/JI63RFB4YM
HOW TO FLASH:
Here is a video guide on how to flash, made by an user from this forum: Samsung Wave Flashing Guide
I have also attached a pdf guide to this post. The guide is from samfirmware.com. Remember not to check bootchange in multiloader even though the pdf guide asks you to do so.
WHAT TO DO IF AN ERROR COMES UP DURING FLASHING:
If during flashing, multiloader show an error like "Error: apps write" or "Errror: Rc1 write" or aything else for that matter, do not panic. First thing to do is press port search again and re-download the whole firmware again. If the error shows again, close multiloader, remove your phone from the usb, turn it off and then go back to download mode again. Open multiloader and then connect your phone. Then browse for the firmware files again, press port search and press Download. This time it should work without errors.
WHAT TO DO BEFORE FLASHING:
Before each flash, it is recommended that you do a hard reset. Type in "*2767*3855#" without quotes onto the keypad. Remember to take out the sim card and memory card before doing a hard reset. Also remember to backup all the stuff stored on the phone since the hard reset and flashing process wipes away internal memory.
WHAT TO DO AFTER FLASHING:
After each flash do a hard reset again. After the final flash, followed by a hard reset, do the following:
1. Pre-configuration:
Although the Pre-Configuration is already set to INU, and even though there are no other Pre-Configuration options, it is recommended to do the Pre-config process.
How to proceed:
Type in "*#5239870*#" without quotes. Select Pre-configuration. Type in the following in the password field without quotes: "*#27236*#" an press confirm. You will only see INU and it is already selected but it is better to select it again. NOTE: This process is similar to a hard reset. So remove sim and memory card.
2. Voice quality
Enter *#197328640#
1. Choose "[5] Audio"
2. Choose "[1] CP Config"
3. Choose "[1] RCV Config"
4. Choose "[7] Rx AGC"
5. Set "[0] enable flag" to 0 (both read and write)
Repeat step 3 with 2/3/4 (EAR/SPK/BTH).
3. Battery Callibration:
Type "*#0228#" without quotes. Then charge your phone until the top three parameters are 100%. If charging stops in between, unplug charger and then plug it again. Do this until you get 100% on all three.
4. Camera Update: (VERY RISKY!)
If you want to see the camera improvements I mentioned, please follow his step. But this process is very risky.
Caution: Do this very carefully. Make sure you are not out of battery before you proceed.
1. Enter *#36287#
2. Press 3
3. Wait for 4 minutes!! Do not touch your phone during the update process. Do nothing until it says that update is complete!!!
FOR SOCIAL HUB PREMIUM WITH FACEBOOK AND ICQ:
The default Social Hub premium only supports Yahoo, MSN and Google. If you want facebook and ICQ follow the guide in these two websites:
http://www.bada-blog.de/2011/02/17/anleitung-icq-account-mit-dem-google-talk-account-verknupfen/
http://badanation.de/topic.php?t=3313
NOTE: The websites are in German. So use google translate. If someone from this forum who is a native German and could translate the guide for us, it would be great! ;D ;D
Hope everybody has a great time ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

hahahahaha
that change kills gps on bada 1.2
also it doesn't make it that much fast to drop down the time from 7-10 min to 1min
anyway thanks for telling
1. You say you have deleted the pre-loaded images, what about audio files?
2. Does your firmware allow Facebook to update via Samsung Apps for Facebook chat?
3. How about adding Answering Machine to the firmware?
no it doesnt :O
my gps works perfectly after changing those settings, its really fast and very accurate
@ TC can u increase the sms memory because it sux only 1300 sms memory dude
For a faster gps, I edited the ini files to enable auto download, data receive type from 2 to 1, device type to 1 from 3, enabled magnetic sensor and enabled ULTSon. Also there is a gps property in the csc file which you can change to s-gps (simultaneous gps).
And these settings do not harm the gps in anyway and its blazing fast on the Indian firmware at least.
The message memory setting is somewhere deep in the system files which are heavily protected. Most probably they are one of the .so file in the ShpAPP dump.

Some Bada Firmware has answering machine. This saves quite some money by avoiding operator voicemail service.

The DDJI2 (Bada 1.0.2) firmware I posted, does support spoofing from menu. That's because it's an older firmware. However DDKD1 (Bada 1.2) doesn't support spoofing.
GPS+
Hello Astrotom forgive my bad English.
I would like clarification on the GPS function +, if you've made the changes you can make all the FW?
Can you explain how?
In all the firmware I tested the GPS + does not work.
I confirm with you that your firmware when you enable GPS + downloads work data and the 3G icon blinks and turns red?

Yes. The gps+ setting works for me. The 3G icon turns red and downloads the satellite data valid for 168 hours or so. And once you download that data, you never need to worry about gps locks as long as you are outdoors. You will get a alock within seconds there on. However if you disable location services, the data will have to be downloaded again and it may take a minute or two.
Good

Thank you for responding.
It would be good that you've done as you communicate to Samsung, because they still were not able to activate the GPS service +.
I do not doubt your words, but I want to be sure before risking overwriting.
I think this is one of the biggest bugs Bada.

[25 Dec][FAQ] Xperia Play for Dummies

Hi everybody,
I just get my Xperia Play but I don't really know where to start.
It's been 4 days that I'm reading threads to know how to get the best from my phone. Unfortunately, most interesting tips are dispersed here and there.
So, I will try to ask the good questions so that everything can be available in a single thread. It will be a newbies FAQ!
Let's go then!
1. I just bought my Android phone. What should I know first?
- Knowing the phone code names will help you searching for the good information. Every phone has his commercial name (Xperia Play), his model name (R800) and his "nickname" (Zeus).
- Check the Android and ROM version as it will be often asked when you look for something about your Android. To do this, on your Phone, go to Settings -> About the Phone
- Do you plan to subscribe to a DATA plan with your phone provider: if not, it's better to disable some features to avoid bad surprises.
- Some say that rebooting the device helps in many cases
- there are NO VIRUS with Android, antivirus tools are all useless
- Wireless, Bluetooth, GPS : if you don't use them it's better to disable them. You will spare battery and you won't see advertises in the free progs
2. What should I do first?
- If you still don't have it, you will have to create a Google account so that you can backup and manage your contacts, for example
- RTFM !
- If you don't plan to use a custom ROM (alternative software not develloped by the manufacturer), you'll have to see if a newer version of the official ROM is available. This can be done through the official tool PC Companion, available on the manufacture website. ( http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/sup...s/subject/pccompanion/xperia-play?cc=ph&lc=en )
- Learn the lexicon : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1253127
3. Should I hack my phone immediately? (Root, boot unlock, flash, unbrand, ...)
- You will have to if you want to : remove unwanted software installed by the provider, change the internal software with a custom one, ...
- Some applications will require to have more access to work: ex: MyMobiler needs Superuser access, available by rooting the phone
- Learn more about root and bootloader here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1076720 (thanks Logseman)
4. Are these hack methods reversible?
- Yes (thanks Jordanooo)
5. Do they void warranty?
- As they are reversible, they shouldn't void the warranty
- For Sony-Ericsson, it's important to notice that they support custom development and helped the FreeXperia team. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1281349)
6. I found many ways to root my phone: which one is the best?
- DooMLoRD method is a popular one : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321582 (don't forget to thank him if you use it)
- you can check this link too : http://lifehacker.com/5789397/the-always-up+to+date-guide-to-rooting-any-android-phone
- for Xperia, there is the Xperia Easy Rooting Toolkit by DooMLorD : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1320350
7. Once rooted, can I remove applications I don't want anymore?
- Yes, this is possible. These applications are called "Bloaters". You can use Titanium Backup as Jordanooo suggested. This seems to be the best one around. There is also Android Mate o SystemApk Manager too. They're all available on the market
8. Where can I find generic/stock ROMs?
- Some are available on this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1093
- for Xperia Play you can have a look at Logseman list of downloads http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18226603&postcount=2 (thank to him)
- there is also the Wotan website ( http://www.wotanserver.com/ ) for SE and Samsung but you have to register.
9. Where can I find good custom ROMs?
- Here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1093
- see 2nd point of previous question
10. OK but what is a custom ROM?
- Custom ROM are not official customized version of the Android software made by common developers (not by manufacturer). In general, they offer more functionality and sometimes pre-installed software. Or they get rid off default applications nobody needs, to save memory.
11. What is the best method to flash my phone?
- As Jordanoo said, it's better to use the method suggested by the author of the ROM. The procedure is usually explained in the related post.
12. Can I use Sony PC Companion to upgrade my phone after I hacked it?
- You will have to unhack your phone to do this. (Jordanoo)
13. What are the must-have applications?
- File browser: Astro File Manager
- Alternate market: AppBrain App Market
- Remote display&input : MyMobiler
- Web browser: Dolphin Browser HD
- Video player: QQPlayer or MX Video Player
- Mp3 player: PowerAmp
- Wifi tool: Wifi Analyzer
- Remote control: MyPhoneExplorer Client or AirDroid or File Expert
- Contacts management : Go Contacts
14. What is the best tool to manage Android contacts from the computer?
- There is an add-on for Thunderbird but I didn't tried it yet ( https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/thunderbird/addon/google-contacts/ )
- It is very easy using MyPhoneExplorer as mentionned in the previous question
15. Are they offline navigation application available?
- Sygic seems to be the best now (available on the market). Maps are downloadable from home Wireless.
16. What are the must-have games?
- Angry Birds (of course)
- Bubble Blast 2
- Live Hold em Poker Pro
- Mame4Droid emulator (ALL working roms can be found here : http://sentinelgames.com/documents/mame.html or here : http://lostsite.altervista.org/wiz/?page_id=2368 )
- GenPlusDroid: a Genesis/Megadrive emulator
- SNESDroid: a Super Nintendo/Famicom emulator
- Xperia Play optimized ones :
-- ***** : Drag Racing, BLOOD & GLORY
-- **** : Diversion, GUN BROS MULTIPLAYER
-- *** : Guns'n'Glory WW2, Pocket Legends (3D MMO)
-- ** : Super Dynamite Fishing FREE, Greedy Spiders Free, ETERNITY WARRIORS, Guns'n'Glory FREE
-- * : Aporkalypse FREE, Crazy Snowboard, Princess Punt, Townsmen 6 FREE , Earth And Legend
17. I tried to install an application but my Xperia said that there's no more place on internal memore. And now?
Yes, unfortunately, Sony didn't provide Xperia phones with a large internal memory (+/- 380Mb). This is indeed not enough to enjoy all what you Xperia can offer. The tool App2SD can help you free some space but many apps will remain unmovable.
There are 2 methods to emulate a part of your SD card as the internal memory: the ADB method (ADB for dummies) and the Link2SD method (Link2SD Guide). The first one don't need your phone to be rooted, the second well.
I hope there's no mistake in what I wrote, as it's only my personal experience. I apologize to the gods of XDA for this. (and for the rest too)
Of course, if someone has something interesting to ask, you can do this here! ;-)
Thread will be fed every time I got a question without a good answer.
Hope you will help! And I thank you in advance.

There really should be an autoban feature when a 5th identical subject is posted.
Its almost like someone is making new accounts and asking the same questions over and over again to annoy us
Deleted original post as not being nearly as funny as I first though it was.
Popodom, you just need to take your time and learn about Android before you make too many changes. This forum has some good tips, but unless you're already a genius with programming, linux and Android, you're better off not asking anything simple. This is a very unfriendly forum, and it tends to bring the meaness out in people. The know-it-alls have little patience for us n00bs. However, they -are- extremely knowledgeable, so it just takes patience and a LOT of reading. Don't worry, we'll get there, someday.
Gosh.
To skip all the hassle u are getting I suggest:
1. Turn on the phone
2. Play with it.
3. Come to xda and read like the rest of us.
4. Start doing your "hacking" and other things when /you/ feel comfortable and no sooner.
5. Don't ask any more of these questions if u don't want to get flamed and end up with 3rd degree burnage.

People on this forum are very rude. If you don't want to answer the question don't post anything or look at the post. You can you can tell by the topic what the questions will be on this one. I came from a iPhone and had no idea about android. Had many questions but never asked because I would be put on blast. The iPhone forums were very helpful and I never saw rude and sarcastic replys to posts. They were always willing to help no matter what the question. Just thought I would throw that out there. And the searching on here sucks maybe the desktop version is better.

I'm sorry but I can't delete this thread myself.
Is there some Admin out thre who can do this for me ?
Thanks !
Flag the thread.
By the way, the search function sucks in both the desktop version and Tapatalk. VBulletin search functions tend to suck quite a bit in general.
Oh, and BTW, in any forum, not only this one, no one likes to do people's homework. See it from this point of view: someone who's never contributed anything to this forum (not because s/he's a bad person or whatever, simply because s/he's new) starts up with post which is basically "gimme gimme gimme". Do you think it's rude to tell someone you've never seen and who starts talking to you by saying "gimme gimme gimme" to get lost?
Hello brothers.
Excuse the ignorance. But is there any way to run the gamepad? or control games with this rom? I installed it correctly. I could not make it work in games.I'm new to XDA, I hope I can still contribute a lot to the forum. Whenever I join others in my tongue. And now I want to collaborate on international forum.
Well here we go ...
I installed the rom JB Paranoid in my xperia play. Works great, besides using a clean configuration, the level of battery lasts much. I used the Turbo Kernel, which also surprised me with such ease.
I am available to help those who have difficulties installing this rom on xperia play. But I have a problem. Jellybeam with the gamepad, or control simply does not work. Anyone have any way to make it work?
grateful

[Q] Unfortunately, S note has stopped

Since I updated my Note 2 “N7100” to android 4.1.2 stock rom through ODIN two months ago, I see this message every time I try to open S note and also upon starting up the device “Unfortunately, S note has stopped”
The only thing I can do is When I call someone and I pull the stylus the Mini S Note open and I can write whatever I want in the mini note and save it but after that I cannot open it gain, actually I cannot see it gain
After rooting the device I tried to uninstall S note then flash it again through the recovery “I grab the source from XDA forum” but it didn’t help
I google this problem in the web and I found some threat here mentioned that the solution is as following
Setting>Language and Input>Samsung keyboard setting>Handwriting>Input language, then I should install any language and that will fix the problem
But when I entered the “Handwriting” There is no “Input language”, I have only the following inside the Handwriting :
Recognition Type – Recognition time – Pen Thickness – Pen colour – Gesture guide – Tutorial – About
That’s it no “Input language” inside the ” Handwriting”
I only find the “Input language” when I first entered the Samsung keyboard setting but not inside the ” Handwriting”
I also tried to restore factory setting but also it didn’t help
I know there might be a similar threat for this problem here but all of them didn’t work for me
Can anyone help me to make the S note come back to life

I know there might be a similar threat for this problem here but all of them didn’t work for me
Can anyone help me to make the S note come back to life

there's a new s note apps on Samsung apps (store). just go there, click update. but note that its not really an update. you'll actually be installing a new S Note apps (yes, you end up with two S note apps after that). but you'll be prompted to import files from your old one.
good luck.
Thanks mydragoon
I searched Samsung app for the S note app you mentioned but I didn’t find it
I only find S note viewer
Can you please send me a link to the app you mentioned
Thanks for your help

hi... sorry for the late reply.
when you login to Samsung apps store from your note 2, it should prompt you to update. that is the case for me... not sure if that helps...

[Solution] Attention D855K Owners! (Australia)

Dear Denizens of XDA!
I've finally fixed my phone upon giving up hope a few months ago. In short points, here is my story:
Installed Freedom.apk (by-pass in-app purchases)
Updated to the latest firmware without removing apk
Could no longer connect to official Google servers (ie playstore, gmail) BUT internet worked
Went to LG for quote on fix, stated that I need to replace motherboard ($250)
Gave up for months until TODAY.
Disclaimers:
I did not develop any of these programs but merely stumbled upon them. I do hope that this solution works for you but I cannot guarantee anything.
Do these at your OWN risk. I cannot and will not be held liable for any further damages caused by following my steps.
My phone:
LG G3 D855K from Telstra August 2014.
(crappy) 2GB ram, 16GB storage model.

I'll give special thanks to these people; I did NOT receive any consult or speak to them but they have provided the tools in which I used to fix my LG G3 which would no longer connect to the Playstore and other important Google services. Many thanks to:

'How I did it':
1 - Download and install the LG USB drivers from [Link 1]
2 - Download and extract [Link 2]
3 - Download your relevant LG G3 Firmware from [Link 3]! Type in your IMEI code to find the exact software/firmware that you require.
4 - Copy the downloaded .kdz file (should be ~1GB) into the same folder as the [Link 2].

7.5 - Please note that the language settings are not necessary. I've simply set it to English so I could read the messages/notifications.
8 - LG Software will pop-up again and let it do its own thing.
9 - An error message of Server couldn't be connected or something of the like will appear. Do NOT press exit.
10 - Look at your phone and you'll see that the firmware updating logo/downloading.
11 - Once your phone reaches 100%, the program on the computer may freeze and be required to be shut down. (This is okay once it's complete).
12 - Allow your phone to reboot, this may take 5-10 minutes.
13 - You'll get the applications being optimized.
14 - Just before you press start the phone may reboot, that's fine as well.
15 - Enjoy!
If you have any issues with the actual flash tool software, please check the 64-page thread AND use the search bar.

Unfortunately, I did not expect this to work for me so I do not have any video footage of me actually attempting this procedure.
If you have any other questions or queries please do leave a comment below. I am not an avid user of XDA but will try and respond when I can do so.
Worked? Thank me? (Sorry if I'm optimistic!)
The only thanks I would like to receive if this works is if you can download the firmware from [Link 3], keep a backup, and re-upload it somewhere to share with other users in need.
If you do decide to re-upload, please do keep the details of the firmware.
I hope that this solution does work for you.
And one final reminder that if you do copy what I did, you proceed to do so at your own risk.
Good luck.
I know this is a couple of months old but wanted to say thanks for posting this - had a G3 stuck on the firmware update screen, couldn't boot into download mode etc... Took a while searching and installing about 26 different flash tools but finally this method worked. Cheers!

And I know I'm pretty late to reply but I'm glad it helped you as well.
I did the same thing as you and took me a while of researching to find a solution. Albeit I've now jumped ships and no longer own the LG G3.
Good luck for the future

Hi ...
Was anyone able to download de KDZ files for LG-D855K (any version) lately?
Is so, have you used a Download manager or not? Which Download provider?

I discovered that this site (LG Mobile) is, in fact, not responding properly to the browser file request ... but the files are there.
I used Xtreme Download Manager to download it. Just manually input the desired file link ... and it'll do its magic!
