[Q] Anyone installed the Xposed framework yet? - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All.
Apologies if this is in the wrong forum, I am unable to post to the development board due to lack of posts.
I was wondering if anyone has installed the Xposed framework on the International HTC One M8 yet? I know this requires root, and a method for obtaining root has been laid out on this forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2694564
but some of the posts state that installation of Xposed when using this root method has not been possible due to the /system folder still being write protected.
It seems others have had some success in installing the Xposed framework when using this method (WeakSauce)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...mctr=(not provided)&__utmv=-&__utmk=139157680
but this method does not work on international versions, only Verizon.
Basically I want to install Xposed in as simple a way as possible, with the end goal being to install the Immerse Me module so as all apps will run in immersive mode.
Any help/info would be very much appreciated.
Cheers.

I have it installed and working. You have to install it as a zip thru twrp.

In for an answer to this. I need Xposed before I can root with Weaksauce.

Sorry, what do you need to install as a zip through twrp?
My understanding of the method is
1) flash twrp
2) install the root.zip through twrp.
3) install SuperSu from play store
4) install Xposed installer from play store
5) install framework through xposed app
Did you get the xposed framework installed a different way?

I'm on ATT but I had to flash the xposed installer in recovery. It wouldn't install any other way

If u go into the xposed installer》framework》installation mode and choose recovery (write zip to sd card, flash manually). Then go into recovery (twrp) and install the file u just created it works fine.

Great. Worked perfectly. You were right, manual install was what was needed.
Are you finding the immersive mode stable? For me the black bar sometimes "sticks" after making it appear

I switched immersive mode off as it made texting difficult - the bottom row would be cut off so couldnt see what I was typing.

Xposed Framework for One M8?

Anyone installed the Xposed Framework and got it working on an One M8 Rooted? Because tried to install it didn't work, the apk installs but when you try to do install/update it just reboots but the framework never installs???
Just install ARHD, it`s pretty much just an optimized stock rom, flash it, if you get a black screen at the end, hold vol up and power until reboot, initial boot may take 10mins, after that, install xposed through recovery method.

Thanks I normally don't like using custom ROM's but as I like using xposed and if it's currently the only way to use it on the One m8 then maybe for the time being I will install ARHD, looking at the thread the feedback has been positive, again thanks for the heads up on flashing it.
I don't have an M8 but I'm lurking in the forums.
Try installing it with the recovery zip (available in 2.5).
I think S-On prevents /system from being written to
Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk
With Xposed 2.5 you need to either
- Have a rom with system protection disabled
- Or choose to install via ZIP where it will copy an installer to your SDcard and you run it from recovery.
I am rooted on stock m8-
the easiest way to install xposed is by changing "install mode" under the framework tab to "Recvery (flash zip automatically". It'll do all the work for you, basically the way as described above.
You can also just flash a kernel with write protection turned off, and do it the old way.

This is the simplest way to do it, imo.
Last night i installed toolbox 6, the updated version and for some reason, it corrupted my xposed framework. I got a message that said it wasn't installed. So i tried to install it via "classical mode" and my phone restarts without installing the framework. I was on ARHD 5.0 with elementalX 0.9 installed. I then tried:
1. Uninstall and reinstall xposed on classical method again, it rebooted and it didn't install
2. Changed method to recovery install and didn't install (Got message "cp:' can't open '/system/bin/app_process': Read-only file system"
E: Error in /cache/recovery/xposed-installer-Recovery.zip
3. Reinstalled ElementalX and tried again via classical and Recovery method and it didn't install
4. Dirty flash ROM and ElementalX and tried again via classical and Recovery method and it didn't install
What else can i tried instead of doing a full wipe install of the ROM??
BTW Xposed was installed and working fine until i installed the updated version of toolbox 6 , the alpha version was working great already
Xposed doesn't work with ART, make sure you are using dalvik
Hey Guys,
I have soff, unlocked but stock recovery... will the xposed installer be able to install it via the stock recovery? (automatically as you described before)?
thanks
No.
Does it give the ability to double tap and then the phone goes to sleep ?
Or you just use GPE.
I have the GPE RUU and Xposed works beautifully

Now yet. It does have gestures tho. I set mine to swipe down to go to sleep. Lots and lots of other goodies in ROM toolbox 6
I'm running stock s-off and root with xposed 2.6.1 and have not had any issues at all. Right now I'm only using sense 6 toolbox and greenify. I have only had two problems and don't believe them to be related. The first is the stock message app FC on voicemail and the second was a soft brick related to freezing Blink Feed.
I installed Xposed from my sdcard as well as sense 6. Didn't run into anything. Double check as above stated and make sure you are no using ART and also check about your unknown sources. I also have USB Debugging on as well not sure it that will matter or not but helps if you use TB or Rom Toolbox.
EDIT: You really need to look into a custom recovery, I use philz and love it. Having root and S-off but not using a custom recovery is kinda like owning a Ferrari but you can't drive a stick.
I have rooted One m8 with TWRP recovery, but it's still s-on, does xposed work also on s-on smartphone?

Of course it will work.It has nothing to do with s-on or s-off.Remember with s-on you can change kernel and recovery partitions but with s-off you can do more like changing radio etc

[Q] Towelroot -> Xposed -> Everything Force Closes

Problem with Xposed Installer.
Scenario:
Device Status before problem:
Prior to rooting with Towelroot, installed SuperSU first.
Rooted with Towelroot
Opened SuperSU APK and installed binary via the normal method.
Installed Titanium Backup
Backed up some apps and APKs.
Rebooted device several times and works great.
Android version: 4.3
Baseband: P605XXUBMJ4
Build number: JSS15J.P605XXUBMJ9
Steps to produce problem:
1) Download Xposed Installer from Xposed website, I assume it is the latest.
(de.robv.android.xposed.installer_v32_de4f0d.apk)
2) Installed the said Xposed Installer APK.
3) Tap on Install/Update, prompted that device will restart in a few seconds.
4) Device rebooted.
5) Reached lockscreen:
- Entered gesture 3 x 3 security swipe prompt.
- Touchwiz started to force close.
- Then everything else starts to force close as well.
Steps to recover from problem.
1) Hold capacitive menu button and went to S Finder screen.
2) Search for something random.
- Internet is not working even though I have 3G/Mobile internet enabled.
3) Continue search using Google, select a browser. (I used Firefox)
4) Navigate to Xposed installer APK using Firefox (file:///) which resides in my external SD card.
5) Click on the APK and install as usual, then open the installed APK.
6) Uninstall Xposed framework.
7) Reboot.
8) Everything works fine again.
Dared myself to try Xposed again. Got into the same problem. Trying to reinstall Xposed Installer but it is taking so much time. Still installing as
we speak.
Now I am trying to find out where does Xposed APK reside in, so I can launch the app manually.
UPDATE: Managed to uninstall Xposed framework after a LONNNNGGGGG wait. I am not daring enough to try it again. =_=!
Questions:
1) How to run Xposed without everything force closing?
2) What can I do to fix this?
3) Where does Xposed APK reside in the system folder?
Hi
Suggest you unroot your device and reinstall stock firmware via odin. Clear cache/dalvik and factory reset device. Then root again with towel root, install latest chainfire su to disable knox and install Xposed. This should clear your issues. I don't have similar problems on my p605 with Xposed.

Sure it is not the rooting method? No problems here with Xposed Installer...Rooted with chainfire's auto root (I don't give a sh**t about crappy Knox), 4.4.2, MagazineUX Rom

No, it's not the rooting method. I used towelroot for my P605 + Xposed. I have no problem.

Hi all. I did not manage to solve this problem but I took the plunge and flashed P605XXUCNE2 4.4.2 and rooted it with towel root, installed SuperSU and everything went well. No wipe as well.
I also flashed TWRP and did a nandroid backup. I don't really care about Knox anymore. ^_^

device is unrooted after cm12.1 ROM installation

Hello guys
I havea problem after CyanogenMod 12.1 installation on i9082
Everything works fine but
I can't have root access, it seems that the device got unrooted after the ROM
I have tried to enable developer options
And I checked root access in the setting to Apps and ADB
but I still get unrooted messages when I try to open an application that requires root
Also I tried to flash supersu from CM recovery but the installation stops in the middle
I tried several different versions of supersu but still the same problem.

Install Twrp or other custom recovery, dissable update cm recovery first in dev option, then install supersu.

What do you mean? Did you installed twrp manager app? Not that app, you need to flash Twrp/cwm.zip file through cm recovery. Or find the cwm/twrp.tar file and flash by Odin.

check it under Grand Android Development thread, there are twrp and cwm in zip file, can be flash through recovery. Same thread with cm12.1 that you flashed.
Flash superuser zip.
Your Rom is Pre-Rooted But you need to flash latest Superuser.zip to gain Root accesses .

cm12 has root disabled by default. Activate it from developer options.

SuperSU on CM13

Hey all. I just flash that ROM. Works really nice. But I can't find SuperSu installed. Also apps which needs root permission didn't worked. I just go do download SuperSu from market and the program shows me an error told me to reboot and try again. Can you please help me? Thanks in advance.

You ALREADY HAVE root with CM-SU. To enable it, just go to developer option and give root permissions to app. Some SuperSU's versions are incompatible afaik. CM-SU preinstalled is just fine.

SuperSU is an issue for itself. Installing 2.74 using TWRP on my G3 lead to boot problems because of a boot image patch that SuperSU installs. If I restore boot partition before rebooting, SuperSU doesn't install. Using Play Store version fails to install su binaries.
Conclusion: use CM own root. It works nicely, just lost FolderMount but, well, I prefer that instead of losing phone.

Have you try this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/bump-supersu-t3273251
CustomPatcherScript_Bump.zip + UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65-20151226141550.zip
But it's also can cause reboot loop
Do backup before doing flash that script
That worked fine with my D855 32Gb + CM13
