My note II does not charge. Replaced USB flex and nothing.. - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Recently I changed the entire display to my note2 i7100 and works perfectly. The issue is the phone wont charge.. Replaced the battery. I ordered a usb charger flex and replaced it. And still nothing..
I tried with other chargers and nothing happens..
Can anyone help me to find the issue?
Thanks!

Probably not the fix you were looking for but certainly easier lol and less chance of causing more damage too

My friend I guess that the charging base (this module that takes the current to the battery to charge it)
is damaged, so you might need to change it.

Hello thanks for the replies.
But I need to fix the phone. I don't want an external charger.
I would like to know what is causing this issue.
Bought a flex charger in ebay.
But nothing, it does not work..
Maybe is a motherboard damage?
Thanks!

I am not talking about an external charger my friend,
Here is the thing, when you plug your charger to the phone, the port that you plug the wire in is
a part of a module connected to the battery, and that thing might be damaged.
My recomendation is to save yourself time and effort, and send it to a maintenance shop or store,
they will replace the base and probably won't cost you that much.

Charging problem

Galaxy Nexus problem - charging problems- it will not charge when the phone is switched on, if I turn it off it will charge partially. Sometimes after turning on it will still have the charging symbol displayed even though not plugged in. Anyone have any ideas? I'm using the original charging cable from wall and pc and I've tried an old cable. Flashed no ROMs on it.
I wouldn't even mess around with it. I would head to verizon and talk with them. Not worth trying to find a fix
No such thing as verizon in the UK but yeah I get you - T-Mobile is my carrier
Yeah, definitely order a refurb from your carrier.

You can try it, but it sounds like a serious connection problem. Try a different cable, outlet, plug, and battery.
Emphasis on different battery, it REALLY sounds like that may be the culprit.
Tried all apart from the battery as I don't have another
You have this and it's fatal unless you want to change your own USB board.

Try a battery. Go to your providers store and tell them the problem, they can probably test it out for you.
Simple. The problem is with the micro USB port on the phone. Just wedge a tweezer inside and bend up the nub a bit. It worked for my phone and the problem never came back.

[Q] Charging paused. battery temperature too low.....?

Hi I get this message whenever I plug it in to charge. I saw some threads but none of them had any solutions. Does anyone here know how to fix it?
Also, I read that samsung is replacing phones that are hardbricked due to a hardware problem. Is there anything that prohibits you from recieving the replacement if the galaxy s3 is hardbricked?

I had a similar problem with my Galaxy S2, some people said that it is necessary to replace some controller on the motherboard. But I have not found a solution.

The simplest workaround is to get an external charger where you take the battery out of the phone and insert it into a charger to do the charging.
I have 2 batteries and an external charger. That enables me to charge one battery and still use the phone with the other battery. You can always have a charged battery for use that way. I bought the external charger for $5 from Ebay

can you connect it to pc?
This happened to a co-worker's s4 after her Note 2 got wet. I replaced the USB charging flex cable inside the phone and everything went back to normal.

[Q] G2 Won't Charge

My G2 didn't charge last night. I tried multiple chargers, batteries, wall sockets, and even a USB connection to my laptop. The cables fit snugly into the micro USB port on the unit. When I plug it, nothing happens. no charging indicator. T-Mobile tech support told me to buy a new phone.
Is there anything else I can try?
UPDATE: Tried a master reset but no change. Is it a hardware issue with the port?
Broken micro usb port
That's my fear. Time to figure out a replacement.
A simelar problem
Hi there, i think i have the same problem.
Only one thing is different. When i putt it on the charger the charging indicator blinks for 3 times and thats is. Does anyone has a idee?
Also the boot doesnt work(volume - and the power button)

check whether the fast boot is turned off before trying (volume down+ power button.)

Yes, you can try to repair the phone replacing charging controller. At official HTC Service repair cost will probably be equal to buying mainboard from ebay or aliexpress.com - around $80-95. Individual (non-certified) service men will do that for $25-30, but risk of killing the phone in this case is pretty high. But in the situation described above there's nothing to loose.
Another solution: in case your phone is working well with pre-charged battery you can buy one masterpiece by chineese manufacturers - universal charger or charger like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BMHD6LA/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Try with another battery (pre-charged). If the phone boots up normally and works well - see my previous post.
Its most likely a 3 dollar USB port that probably needs replacing, have a look in there and see if there is any visible damage as in broken away contacts.
If you want to replace it yourself its not terrible to do if your OK at soldering, had to do this to a few phones and only once did I fail, but then I don't consider my self an expert at fine soldering.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
Maybe your charger is bricked :crying:

ANOTHER RMA for USB????

For the last week device has wonky charging. Wouldn't even notice stock c to c cable plugged in. Would charge with a to c after reboot. Fast charge ok on c to c car charger. Then not, or only after reboot.
Google is sending a new charger, but that's not the problem. ( Just opened the last one the sent me before previous device started smoking). Finally got home after 2 weeks (hurricane). Tried several chargers/cables. Plug in a reboot
Will talk to PC for file transfer and such.
No alarm this morning. Was on charger when I went to bed. Guess it shut down by itself at 100%.
Had that quick bug a few weeks ago...noticed battery saver turned on by itself.
Any chance any if this is software with latest updates? Thinking this is my 3 rd device now with USB port issues.
Ohh...just checked. Headphone adapter not recognized.....AGAIN.
Google is good about replacing, but can't the fix that port?
Worst part....finally got my $50 Whitestone done installed. So now I have to order another replacement kit for the replacement Pixel 2 XL.
Clean the connector. That is often all it is.
Give it a small spray of electrical cleaner...
I had the same problem. They installed a new motherboard in the device and gave it back to me.
Thanks for input.
Gave it a few shots of deoxit contact cleaner and some light cleansing with small toothpick.
Seemed to work for a little bit. Then random reboots while plugging in various chargers and cables. One option even caused it to boot when plugged in.
Headphone adapter only worked 1 out of 50; tties.
Did you recently upgrade to Pie?
I had this exact problem as well.
It started when I upgraded (stock).
Spoke with Google rep and they know about the issue.
Downgraded and the issue persists.
Seems like the software update is breaking internal hardware?
Had to RMA mine.
Possible bad cable or non USB PD compliant powered source or cable fried something in the charge circuit? Maybe invest in a USB-C power meter.
Just finishing up setup on replacement device before RMA of defective device. But.....
Factory reset, and it works fine!!!!!
Normally they make you do that before sending a replacement. But in my case phone wouldn't even charge with phone off. How can any kind of software be a culprit if the is isn't even loaded????
I just got my replacement. I had usb hardware failure. Tried three cords and two computers and would only charge. Replacement fixed it

I have faulty speaker grill, they are replacing my device however I do not have any spare phone... need to borrow one from one of my friend, need an approximate time frame
If you can let me know, that would be great!

Nextbit Robin won't turn off

I got a Nextbit Robin recently and it always shows that it's charging no matter what, causing it to not turn off.
I've already tried to clean the flex cable, and I discovered that even if I didn't plug the USB C flex in, it's still keeps thinking it's charging, so it should be something on the board causing this.
This a hardware problem. I accidentally plug phone with cheap charger and then i got this same problem.
I replaced the power controller (PMI8994) and this issue has gone
