[Q] Txt Secretary cab to change text message notification alert by contact - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Several years ago I found an app here called Txt Secretary which allowed me to customize my text message notification by contact so that everyone that sent me a text message had their own alert tone so I would know who was texting me just by which alert was played which I really liked a lot & it was working great until about three days ago. Now I can't find the cab that I had for the program & for some reason the program is no longer working. I really liked that program & want to be able to have different text alerts depending on who is texting me so can anyone please help me out w/this. It is really important to me to be able to have the distinction of who is texting me by the alert tone that is played. If anyone has this cab or knows where I can get it please let me know. Thank you

Maybe?

Thx but that is not the program that I am looking for. I want the program that will allow me to change the txt tone that is played depending on who is sending me the txt.

text msg alert tone HTC s621

After I upgraded to WM6, I lost the "default" text message alert tone. I dont know if you guys know which one Im talking about, but I'd really like to get it back!
If anybody still has it, could they email me the file? or tell me where I can download it back.
The alert tones that come with WM6 suck and I don't know where to download text message alert tones..
Thanks!
Hi Chrissystar.
I dont know what "default" alert tone you were using but most of them are stored on " My windows Mobile" in the windows folder.
But you can use any small .wav file as your tone I was using Rom 4. something and could play the catchphrase. But I know have upgraded to 6.1 and cant play it anymore. I keep getting Memory to low to play. so looking for a new one.
If you have any Music on your phone just highlight it with your pen and within the menu that pops up it asks if you want to use the file as your ringtone.
any way if I find some decent text tones I will post a link to you. OK

SMS Sent Alert tone change?

I Cant find this anywhere and wondered if its possible to change the sound/alert that is heard when an SMS (not MMS) has been sent.
I'm sure I managed it before but nothing appears under 'sounds and notifications' and I cant remember how I did it before if I did at all!
At present i see a pop up box saying 'Message Sent' and hear an alert tone that I'm not keen on, its certainly not what it was before a recent o2 rom upgrade. Currently its the same sound as the sound heard when youre SMS cannot be sent (because of no signal) whereas before these two sounds were most definately different to one another.
Ive taken a look here which is a starting point
http://www.4winmobile.com/forums/htc...eep-popup.html
this information is not quite what i need because....
There is still no differentiation between the alert sound of an SMS that was sent successfully or one that has failed, since the alert sound falls under one category of "Default" notification accross the phone.
It's kind of half of the info I need, if you like.
I have no idea how this was different on my previous 02 ROM but if it helps to explain a little more then the "Default" pop up alerts were "Alarm2" (IE: message not sent & all other notifications/alerts) & the SMS Sent successfully alert/pop up was "Alarm1".
Im guessing this would need an additional registry key adding in the notifications part of HKCU, but I wouldnt know where to start
Terribly sorry think I found my answer here, yet to test

EDIT-----
NO that wasnt right, still searching......................
Did anyone ever find a solution to this?
I'm looking to delete the annoying SMS sent tone but just keep the 'Message sent' speech bubble - is this possible?
"same problem" here ...
edit: done, i've managed to put a mp3 sound ^_^
Please share how you resolved issue?
sorry ... i didn't concentrate when i read the topic .. i didn't know how to change the sms ringtone .. sorry
Resolved
Found out how - you need to edit registry and replace the target .wav file with whatever one you want to use (must be stored as a .wav file in windows directory).
Navigate to HKEY_Current_User > Control Panel > Notifications > Default and then change Wave string to point to your new .wav file.
I recorded a 0.25 second blank .wav file & put it in windows folder so no annoying sound now, just the speech bubble notification & the envelope icon pops up which is fine.

calling all app developers

so basically im hoping someone can design a program that sets the message ringtone to just a real loud sharp quick bleep. but the kicker is it bleeps multiple times to tell you how many messages you have. sorta like a grandfather clock telling you the time. except for my messages so i dont ignore it and get backed up with more messages than i can handle

configure per sender sms tone?

My work wants to send me sms messages when I'm on call so they have to be able to wake me up. However, I don't want every text to be ear shattering. Is there a way to configure it so that the urgent texts from my company have one ring tone and everything else has another?
Alternatively, is it possible to set up different notification sounds for each mailbox? I'd like to have my work email have one sound and my personal email have another.
Much thanks.
Try Ringo for different text message sounds at:
www.ringomo.com
I'm not sure about how to have different sounds for emails though.
Thanks a lot, that's exactly what I wanted!

[Q] Message Tones for text messages

Can anyone help me. I am trying to assign specific message ringtones to different people in my contacts, however I can't seem to get it to work. It will only play the default message ringtone and not the one I assigned in the contact information. Is this a bug that can't be fixed or is there a way to get this to work? I contacted Samsung support techs and they said it's a Verizon problem not a Samsung one.
Any help with this I would really appreciate it.
If you are using the Samsung Message App, you can set the message tones when you edit the contact>Add another field>Scroll down to message tone.
If you are using the Verizon Message app. Select a conversation>swipe left to right>scroll down to tones.
