Built From Soucre, your evo will never be the same.
Team Nocturnal is happy to bring you Kitkat with tweeks to follow.
This is still in it's early stages but I can promise you it is stable and works well.
We will work out as many bugs as possible in the updates to come,
I can not promise you that all will be fixed, but we will try.
Bugs
FFC not working
Hot Restart causes wifi problems, & data. normal reboot fixes it.
Menu settings will not work. widgets and wallpers are fine. just put a settings widget on desktop or use pull down.
video recording is not working looks like it's not saving to sd.
What to do
Be Rooted S-off (did I relay have to say that?) lol
first your gonna need to download the recovery, rom and gapps

That's fine. I was just wondering why you reuploaded it - but if it was for mirroring purposes, I understand.

Yeah i had so many builds and files lol i was getting confused what was where so i deleted all of it and uploaded 3files required to flash.
Just glad its all come together. Ty for the time you put into as well i no your evo is retired like mine but for the community as long as my evo works i will give what i can.

Vinman, you da man! I'll give it a try in an hour or two. I'll be able to test data, but not phone or SMS/MMS since I'm on freedompop's service and all their voice/text is routed over data. Is this the only official kit-kat build? The only other one I've tried was Captain Throwback's build with spotty data.
Thanks again to all who worked on this!

There's a version of my build posted with data fixed, by @thedemonic.
@vinman12
I updated my TWRP build and will be posting it in a new thread over at Android Devices (or as I like to call it, @Wambo_World) so once I have that up, you might want to just link to that instead.
The new build has some cool features and is way more complete than the original version I posted. I'll let you know when it's up.

hey fishgoon, ok kewl yeah check it out, data is fully working, but Im looking to get feed back on all bugs to see if we can correct them, Im aware of most of them but it will be good to compare with the members feed back.
as far as the the Rom this is the first that has been rebuilt with working data, and added tweeks,.
but as far as the first releases belive it or not it was a simple fix on the data which was pointed out to us.
but all is good now. I must have built this a zillion times. lol had one of my buddy from tn build it as well
we all went nuts to get the data flowing. I know @ Wambo did as well.
but now we can all breath a sigh of relief.
Much love to @captain Throwback, he got us all rolling. great work on the Recovery to.
ok enjoy.

Although my Evo doesn't have service, I have been running the Captain's original KirKat ROM on it for weeks and I'm deeply grateful for all the work you guys are doing.
Forgive my ignorance, but if fixing mobile data turned out to be a "small" thing, could this information be shared with preludedrew so he could work it into evervolv? Or has he just dropped support for Supersonic altogether?

The vendor files simply need to be pushed on github. The fixed was shared in one of the other threads.
Also @vinman12, the thread is up, I just have to upload the recovery: http://android.aokforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=380

Great work. Everything seems super smooth. Was able to run Mounts2SD with no problem to get some more room for apps. Also, I was able to do wireless tether using native tether feature and an open connection. However, I was unable to get wireless tether to work with encryption...not a big deal...I think it was also not working in the JB roms either. Overall, runs really really well. I don't listen to music over my phone much, so probably won't try viper audio out. I'll have a better idea once I get on my home wifi and load a bunch of apps on it. I think it's plenty stable to use as a daily driver unless I find a serious app compatibility. Has anyone tried GPS navigation with google maps yet?

[ROM]CM7 Kangs - Latest 2012\08\27

Sorry for the long delay. I inally have everything sorted out and the temperatures finally cooled down enough that the random brownouts have stopped. Lots of new things in this release. I suck with changelogs and the way I built this rom makes it hard to know everything that's changed. I rescripted Maniac103's Defy repo for the Bravo and am now using that as my base. Before I was updating a cloned Quarx CM7 repo with cherrypicks from Maniac's and FuZZ's Defy repos..
Some new features include
Bootmenu Pin Protection
Wifi Calling (untested)
SmartassV2 replaces Smartass, conigure it with smartass's settings in the bootmenu
Voice Commands
More Tablet Mode Features, you'll see them
New FM Radio
Nuance Bluetooth Voice Dialer

-Flash It

Updating From A Previous Kang Instructions
-Reboot into Recovery
-Select Install Zip from SDCard
-Find and Select the Rom you just downloaded
-Flash It
-Reboot:victory:
Wiping Cache and Wiping Dalvic Cache isn't necessary since I added those commands to the installer script. Adding those commands makes updating simpler, less prone to errors, and less presses of the volume and power buttons.
I need to look in touch recovery and touch bootmenu.

NOTES & BUGS:
I've sometimes had an issue where my pc won't connect to adb since the phone won't give permission. It usually only occurs after the first 2 or 3 boots then magically fixes itself. I've also had usb data tethering fix the adb problem. If you don't use adb on your pc, then this isn't even an issue for you.

CM7 Mods
Just a couple of mods I use with CM7.
Bravia Engine - Sony Image PP engine for sharper images.
Beats Audio - Sony Audio engine with improved bass and treble -- can harm inferior and crappy headphones and speakers (Trust Me).
All the zips are flashable in recovery.
Credits for the zips go to their original makers, which I can't remember since I downloaded them a few months ago and can't find the threads I found them in (somewhere here at xda).
Skeevy your rom is lightning fast! Thanks so much! Thanks for beats audio and bravia zips too!

I use ES file explorer, but basically I use any file manager with root access.
I've been using this one for a few days and haven't found any bugs. Pretty sure this is the most stable rom I've had on my phone.
Another thinh I've noticed is I can't tell if the bravia engine is working. I know it is supposed to produce clearer images, but I don't notice a difference. Oh well, this phone doesn't have a fantastical camera anyway.

I was just thinking of swapping it out with Apoonet's Miui File Explorer -- Free, Root, Advanced Features, Auto-Updates itself, No Crappy Permissions.
Glad to here it works great for more than myself.
The only way I could tell if Bravia was working was I took picture of my dog with the Bravo's camera and dl'd a HD image, started at each of them for minutes on end each, flashed bravia, stared again. They did improve, but not by much and I doubt anyone would notice the difference unless you did the stare test like I did.
thanks skeevy

I have no preference in explorer so whatever you put that is not stock I'll gladly use. Although I can't speak for everyone else.
I flashed the latest cm10 just to try it out, but it's still early and I noticed quite a few bugs. I'll probably be sticking with your kang(s) for a while.

Help please
Hi. Im a newbie at all this installing rom stuff. I am trying to install this rom, but omited to download and place the gingerbread gaaps on my sd card before the process...
so now I am stuck in this step
-Find and Select Gingerbread Gapps
-Flash It
-Reboot
Should I turn it off and put the gaaps in there, and then restart it? Please help!
Just as a fallow up the way I solved this issue thanks to other forum members help was: turn off my phone, and install the gaaps to the sd card, to unzip them later.
PC Crashed
Not gonna be a CM7 this week, or anything else for that matter. My pc went down Thursday and I finally had the time today to get it back up and running. Still have to finish configuring everything how I like it, install all the build requirements, sync all my repos again (takes a while), and much more. My biggest problem is I might lose a lot of my Android stuff on my old encrypted home folder. Need to look into accessing an encrypted home folder when you don't have the password anymore. Like a dumbass, I stored it in my Documents folder....instead of anywhere on one of my other 3 hard drives.
I'll look into the baseband issue. I think I just need to add in the missing folders and files under /etc/motorola that the new baseband switcher uses.
Maniac had quite a few CM7 updates last week, and that's always good.
Hopefully I'll be back in business by Monday.
//If you're wanting to try out Linux, I gotta recommend Mint 13 Xfce to ya. The install is painless and the system's ran good and stable so far. One of my best Linux experiences.

Just accessed my old encrypted home, copying all my files to another drive. Then I'm gonna format it and make it my android partition. Should be back in the game soon.
I'll make jellybean roms as soon as I can get it to start compiling....especially since Salad Bar, Paranoid Android, and other cool mods are switching to jb. CM7's gonna come first, but I'll get to jb during the next week.

Woop, recovered all my Android files. I'm so glad I didn't lose all of it. I'd of had suicide level depression if I didn't. Especially since I had to look long and hard for the right tools to do the job (that's what she said). Time to format my old system partiton with a 20 gb recovery partition with tons of recovery tools and another partition for android development.
Then its time to set up my build environment. That'll take a while. The sdk alone is about a 1 hr ordeal, the CM7 sync is anther 1.5-2 hrs, CM9 is about a 45 min sync, the app install for everything is another 30 mins. And all those times are in a perfect world with maxed out dl speeds.
About done with all my sysyem themeing. I prefer a black desktop since its much easier staring at a dark 42" screen over a bright one for hours on end, and its eaisre to read. See the screenshot to see what I'm talking about
Also gonna look into adding aroma to the CM7 Kangs. I thought about making a lightweight rom with update zips for full CM, but Aroma will let us choose what system apps you don't want, allow easy modding and tweaks. If done right, it'll give the Kangs full White Rabbit customization without me having to port WR.

THanks... will do... just to let you know this second phone has always given me some sort of problem.... I had trouble when I rooted it because, the enable non market app would never stay that way. When I first enabled non market apps with superoneclick I could install no market apps. But after some time when by when I tried to install a non market app it kept telling me that I couldn't so I had to enable non market apps again. I thought that was weird, because device number 1 never gave me those issues. Anyway, on device number 1 everything from kangs cm7 worked...
As a followup to this problem, I tried connecting to Google on another wifi hotspot and it worked... I guess the settings of my IP are somehow incorrect at home, does anyone have any idea on what the correct settings should be... I can connect to Google at home once Im signed in from another IP.
Just wondering if this could be due to a CM7 issue because It never happened when my phone was in stock rom.
Also... I cannot purchase apps when connected to the wifi at home... I have to go somewhere else...

YOU need to use CWM v6.0.4.4 ( v6.0.3.8 and up) to get it working correctly![RECOVERY] ClockworkMod v6.0.4.4
With older CWM Recovery versions you will get a bootloop, so update your Recovery too!
To swap memories (internal with external SD Cards) you need to go to /system/build.prop using any File Explorer with root privileges (recommended X-Plore) and change from 0 to 1 in the code below:
Before
Code:
# Change to 1 for swapping SD cards
persist.sys.vold.switchexternal=0
After
Code:
# Change to 1 for swapping SD cards
persist.sys.vold.switchexternal=1
Bugs reported (Build ALPHA 9): -
-
For installation, first, make sure you got CM10.2 ROM and the correct Gapps on your External SD Card. Both can be found in the links above.
After that, enter CWM and:
select "wipe data / factory reset"
go to "mounts & storage" and format /system. This is extremely important!
under the same menu, format /sdcard0 (be careful NOT to format /sdcard1 (external_sd) by mistake)
install CM10.2 (from the external sd)
install Gapps for JB+ (from the external sd)
reboot your phone
Please, note that every step of this tutorial is mandatory!
This is still not a pristine Installation! A pristine installation requires to whipe both SDCards and only copy the installation files to the external SDCard, so there is nothing else than the ROM and Gaaps.
Therefore also delete the Android folder on your SDCard left by the previous ROM as well as the Thumbnail folder in the DCIM folder! You can do this after flashing the ROM. Just delete them and reboot. Don´t worry, both will be rebuild by the new ROM.
Do NOT restore backup data of system apps!
In general this ROM will restore your apps automatically from the PlayStore and only download the ones that are compatible with this ROM, so restoring a backup isn´t needed and also not recommended.
If there is still a need to restore applications, make sure you only restore 3rd party apps and preferably apks only. No app data. SMS, contacts, calendar entries, pictures, videos should be safe to restore.
If you're installing this ROM after stock ROM (Android 2.3.6), CM9 (Android 4.0.4) or CM10 (Android 4.1.2), we highly recommend redownloading the apps rather than restoring them from a backup. They might not be fully compatible and might cause troubles. As a general suggestion, try to keep your ROM as clean as possible.

Ok, since noone started this till now, I will create this thread to keep the dev thereads clean. Discuss your bugs and issues here if you like.
Just I´m not going to maintain the whole thread. If anyone is willing to take over this thread and maintain it, I have no problem with that

Thanks, man! I would have done it earlier but since the thread in Development section refers to two ROMs (CM10.2 and Carbon) and since CM10.2 is actually still in preview stage (though really well done preview, I must admit) I thought it would be better to see where this is going first, and only after that, open a thread into General section. But if you did it, that's fine too.
About not maintaining this thread...I'm not sure that's a good thing. And once you opened it, there is no way someone else could take over it since..well, you opened it and no changes can be made on the OP (unless you're willing to share your password, which I suppose you're not).

Yes I know but the topic header can be changed any time so it fits the rom you will be diuscussing about. About taking over a thread I think this is no problem for the Moderators to change the owner. Have seen already some threads to be taken over by new Moderators. But if this shouldn´t be possible for some reason, there is another solution. I can keep my first post clean, so it can be maintained in the secound or third post
Last but not least I can ask to delete it, so a new one can be created.
Should we focus on 4.2 or 4.3? i hope one of the half best tester on 4.2 should try 4.3

I will test CM10.2 myself as I´m also interested how well it´s working. But about the difference between CM 10.2 and Carbon 4.3, isn´t the Carbon a themed CM10.2?
I also think it should be no problem to create our own working Gaaps we can use for this ROM.
Just got back from vacation as I told in the dev-section, and I only got one question: did you guys modify GApps in some way to make it work, or something in the ROM? I can just use the official GApps from goo.im which I already downloaded to use with my grouper, can't I?
Otherwise my PC will be an insane mess with all different kinds of GApps floating around

Yes, you should be able to use the official Gapps now, if you want to. The problem was not in the Gapps, was in the ROM.
And...welcome back! Got new ROM for you.
Ok, as for annoyances found so far:
1) Green color while taking a picture and switching between cameras. Focal camera has green artifacts everytime and freezes at first shot taken as already known issue with majority of 3rd party apps.
2) Small artifacts taking panorama shot.
3) Apollo FC at first run after pristine install. Already known for CM10.1.
4) Sometimes widgets (like contact 4x1) and shortcuts of Google apps disappear from the desktop. I just encountered that few times without going into depth. Will try to give repro rate.
5) Electron Beam animation while locking the device is buggy. I turn it off in display setting and feel much better.
That's all I remember by now. And why I say annoyances? Because all those things aren't so nagging as Gapps problem fixed yesterday.
Taking into account that it's only 1st release... Hell it's smooth and usable.
And one thing that I liked so much...
A new feature in camera in video recording.

Is there a way to save photo taken to external sd instead of internal? BTW, I think I found a bug : apps that put in a folder on desktop (by dragging an app to another) will randomly disappear after reboot.
I am using this rom + Seeder 7 Script and it's working really perfect! Many thanks @ all devs involved in this rom!

Unfortunately I faced that problem once or twice too... This happens because we have too low RAM.
Precisely, LMK kills background applications when the device is running out of RAM (multitasking). The only solution by now is having a custom kernel like Hurtsky and add DSPM and Apollo to the list of unkillable processes.

well I find it 100% stable and with the added performance mod I have on average 100 MB free RAM. I am yet to experience and FCing, but if anyone has any problems please let me know. Like I said I am going to use this to find my way around roms, before starting on a newer version of Android.
Thanks for the screenshots @ihor2284, and Minto107 the closer to AOSP look comes from editing the images in .apk s in this version. I am currently working on changing a few of these back to CM or AOSP source packages, chosen mostly on size. The aim is to be functional and with a small footprint.
About the only thing you will find that tends to freeze up and force close is the stock browser..happens with many of our roms. ive been trying to decompile the rom and bookmarks sync adapter to allow moving to the data partition vs system and see if i can optimize it more but i keep getting decompile errors.

Hi Curtis,
what are you using to decopile, I'm running linux on everything and can't get my hands on an easy tool. Going to look into apktool and aapt and see if I can use them without any gui...
Any advice on this would be great, as so far I can only edit the .pngs, even the .9.pngs are beyond my short reach!
regards
im using apktool..in fact ive used about every tool around for windows with no luck.
edit: oh and the force close usually experienced with the browser is due to ram issues..bot anything else. the app works as it is supposed to..just uses more ram than our device can handle at times depending upon web site use. i think my decompile errors are largely due to my pc set up. to lazy to leave xp behind lol..

no problems, sometimes its better if you learn the longer and harder way . I think I've pretty much finished with this version, but may ask for some tips if I move into building it or a 4.2 from source. Thanks again for the original, totally awesome.

Hi sorry to hear you at having difficulty with this. I've just tested what you said, not been able to repeat the issues on my phone. Could you take a log cat,(the app is on the phone already) Also it eouldnhelp to knownwhat other appsnyou may have been running, like turbo boost etc, and what spec your phone hboot drivers erc are at if you can provide. I do have another faster and lighter version which i will upload tomorrow.
This ROM looks really promising. Nice work!
However I can confirm that the camera and the torch (LED flashlight) do not work. Besides battery drains too fast I guess. It has been discharged completely during the night when doing nothing. No, I have no problems with the battery on other ROMs.
And sorry for not providing any logs either, I'm just not so experienced enough.

Thanks for the feedback, I think I've sorted all of this out, the ROM still needs a reboot after initial installation, but everything seems pretty gravy from there on in!

Hi Min to,
Thanks for then installation guide, saved me writing out a much less coherent one. Only bus was the camera, with the new adreno drivers this has been smoothed out. I've also now cleaned up the contacts and phone.apk and added holohd2.1.2 for a smoother run. If you odex the romnusing the link in 1st post it is super smooth. But do let me know if you find any problems.
I'll get some more testing done on the camera as well, and should have the update out byntomorrow

the new update should improve the rom some more, your right about the camera, and I will be looking into that some more of the next week or so. Let me know if the new drivers etc are any help with it. Thanks again for the feedback.

Remember! You flash anything and everything at your own risk! Neither I nor anyone else here at XDA or anywhere else can be held responsible for anything that goes wrong!
:cyclops:
I am very pleased to present to you the first Touchwiz KitKat rom for the T999 and variants!!! :victory:
WiFi and screen rotation are now fully functional! HUGE Thanks to @ktoonsez for his kt747 kernel which solved these two very annoying issues!!! If you have not already, make sure you visit one of his threads and thank him for his outstanding work! (We don't even have the kernel source for the T999 and I747 and he still managed to build a fantastic kernel for us to use!) (It is included with the rom, no need to flash separately.
Visit his Kernel Thread to learn more about this kernel!
Currently, there are very few bugs and I feel this rom is perfectly capable to be a DD. See below for a list of bugs and temporary solutions so you can fix them until the next update.
Anyone is more than welcome to use this Rom in anyway they choose without asking permission first! Just please don't forget your credits, and make sure you include ktoonsez, CNexus, JustArchi and the Sprint folks without whom this Rom would not be possible!
This is quite capable to be a base for devs to create or update their current roms with. If nothing else, it would be a great way to get started by using it to test and debug your mods in preparation for the official release which isn't too far off now! (I am told, by someone who I believe to be a reliable source, that KK for the T999 and T999L should be released between 5/28 and 6/5! Possibly sooner if testing goes well!) (I have also heard that more and more test builds are being produced, indicating that they are getting close!)
Please keep an eye on the following few posts for more information about KitKat, and what to expect when our update is finally released. I have learned some interesting things working with this and the guys in the Sprint forums so I hope to relay all of that to the rest of you here.
Prerequisites
You must be running the FULL 4.3 bootloader and firmware! It has been reported to not boot when using the 4.1.2 or earlier firmware. This rom has been confirmed to work with the T999 (NC2 and MJC) and both the T999L and T999N (NC1).

NOTE: I am leaving the above Sprint kernels in case any devs want them for any reason. These are NOT intended for normal use with this rom. They will break wifi and screen rotation is upside down. Also with the secure kernel you would have issues writing to your sd card.
Instructions
BACKUP! BACKUP! BACKUP!
Flash rom via latest version of the custom recovery of your choice
Factory Reset recommended
First boot WILL take a while! Several minutes at least.
During setup, after choosing your language, you will see a screen with "Wait a sec..." at the top.
DO NOT, let the screen time out and turn off!!! (You will have to start over!)
After this, proceed with setup normally and reboot when done.
To fix the WiFi icon in statusbar
Open the Google Play Store and wait for it to load its home screen. Close the store.
Using a root file browser, go to /system and edit the build.prop as follows:
Change ro.product.name= "d2tmo" to "d2spr". Save and reboot.
(Note: by making this change, you will fix the WiFi icon, but will lose the T-Mobile 4G data icon. It will show 3G, H+ instead.)
(IMPORTANT: If you do not open the Play Store app BEFORE making this change, the Store will NOT work!)
Pests (Known Bugs)
MMS will not send with WiFi on - It seems this is how all Sprint builds are made. Not actually a bug, but I am told there is a Wanam Xposed module that can make this work. If WiFi is on, you can send and receive SMS, but cannot send MMS and will just get a notification if one is received.
You can only have one of the following two: Either the nice looking WiFi statusbar icon, or the T-Mobile 4G icon. Fixing one reverts the other.
Pesticide (Temporary fixes for bugs)
WiFi Icon fix
In build.prop, change d2tmo to d2spr. Reboot. -Thanks to @serio22 for figuring this odd one out! :highfive:
See instructions above. This will break the Play Store unless you first open the app and let it load.
I want to extend my gratitude and a huge thanks to all the folks in the Sprint forums for making this port possible! If I forget anyone please let me know! If you see these guys be sure to hit their "Thanks" button!
Original Sprint Rom Thread
CNexus' [STOCK ROM][4.4] ND8 Kitkat ROM
Thanks and Credits:highfive:
@CNexus - For all of his hard work on Sprints official release, his dedication and for being such a cool Kat to work with! @ktoonsez - For his outstanding kernel and help!
@JustArchi - For his new ArchiKitchen that allowed them to get out a fully functional ROM!
@bilgerryan - For his helpful posts and info!
@DR_CDMA - For releasing the ND8 firmware so quickly!
@serio22 for the WiFi icon placement fix.
@rompnit, @freeza, @sleshepic, @tdunham, @jdsingle76 - For helping CNexus and other posts and contributions!
@srnoth - For being who I believe to be the first to get Sprints release running on a different device (in a bit of a roundabout way!)
@Perseus71, @TheLastSidekick, @Aerowinder, @Woody, @saranhai, @enewman17, @mrRobinson - For always being so cool and helpful! I've learned a lot from them all whether they realize it or not!
Well, now that I have finished up on the Rom (for now!), I am going to try to let you guys know what all I have learned about Touchwiz KitKat in the process. I hope to make things easier for everyone when our official release finally makes it out.
Some of the main hurdles included getting WiFi and Mobile Data to work correctly, and writing to both internal and external storage. I will add more information as I think of it.
If I recall correctly, once they got their rom flashing over in the Sprint forums, it was quickly discovered that their mobile data would not work. It turns out it was a permissions issue and by using the new ArchiKitchen by @JustArchi, it was solved. The ArchiKitchen built a new updater-script that took care of this issue. This is a new Kitchen that started out as a continuation of dsixda's original Kitchen. JustArchi has since done a complete, total rewrite from scratch making it a 100% new and original project! Please check it out and be sure to thank him for his awesome work! I have not had much chance to mess with it much myself, but it does appear that we need to become familar as it will be required if we wish to use a kitchen to build our roms. (As I understand it, CNexus had added all d2 devices to the Kitchen, so it should be ready to use!)
Shortly after getting the updater-script right, there were reports of not being able to write to both internal and external sd cards. The fix for writing to External storage is in /system/etc/permissions/platform.xml
You have to edit the following:
Code:
<permission name="android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" >
<group gid="sdcard_r" />
<group gid="sdcard_rw" />
</permission>
just add a group to look like this:
Code:
<permission name="android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" >
<group gid="sdcard_r" />
<group gid="sdcard_rw" />
<group gid="media_rw" />
</permission>
I was having the same issues with my ported rom at this point, and after much testing found that my kernel solved the issue where we could not write to the internal storage. So for some reason, selinux was preventing us from writing to it. This is why I included and recommend only using the insecure kernel with the rom. You may notice that where you usually see selinux status in About Device, nothing is there.
For those who do not know, KitKat introduced more security features, which is what causes the inability to freely write to our storage. When you install an application it should create its own folder and will then be able to write only to that one. This is to prevent other apps from having access to your full storage and data they do not need. The problem is that many apps have not been updated to make use of this. There is also the issue where if an app that has been updated is trying to use its own folder that it created in another version, such as 4.3, it can no longer use it. Titanium Backup is a good example of this. I didn't test, but I suspect that if you started completely clean, and installed TiB, it would work fine. However, many of us have an existing TiB folder and after updating to KK, it would no longer work.
Finally, one of my biggest issues with porting it (not one experienced by the Sprint guys), was my mobile data. If I shut it off and rebooted, voice calls worked just fine. But if I enabled mobile data, the connection would cut in and out over and over. It would work while connected, but it was very annoying! I will add what I did to fix this shortly.
For now, I hope this info helps everyone! I will add links to more information a bit later.
ChangeLog
1.0 - Initial Release
2.0 - (5.14.2014)
Included kt747 kernel (5-13-2014) (WiFi fixed, Screen Rotation Fixed)
Added APN's (Should now auto-populate regardless of your carrier. AKA, no more manual setup!)
Added more language options
Updated system apps
corrected build.prop values
Added busybox to updater-script
Replaced Sprint Shutdown animation with T-Mobiles (oops forgot the sounds! Still Sprint Sounds with Tmobile anim)
Fixed Video Playback bug (horribly choppy playback on hi-res vids)
v2.1 - Final - (5.16.2014)
Fixed APN issues from previous release - Thanks to @lj27416 for posting the apns-conf.xml
Fixed Maps force closing
Fixed reboot binary - Thanks to @CNexus
Updated system apps (including todays Google Play Store update with Paypal support)
Tips
GPS - If your GPS is having trouble finding your correct location, download GPS Test by Chartcross from the Play Store. Run and give it a few moments to find satellites and it should narrow to within several feet of your location. Now try your apps that require your location again (maps, weather, etc)
Metro PCS - (T999N users) - You will not have mobile data after flashing this rom. You will need to manually enter your apn. This should no longer be necessary, but I will leave this information up in case it is helpful. Your correct apn is as follows:
(any line not listed should be left blank or default)
Name: MetroPCS
APN: fast.metropcs.com
MMSC: http://metropcs.mmsvno.com/mms/wapenc
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
APN Type: default,mms,supl
Use the S5 Launcher! - Edit your build.prop. Change all d2tmo/d2spr/d2att values to kltetmo/klteatt/kltespr/kltevzw depending on which you have of course. Hint, try each one to see which mobile data icon you like. Use kltespr if you want the fixed wifi icon though. Thanks to @allenjthomsen and @serio22 for bringing this to our attention!
Mods & Themes - Thread by @65coupei6
[TW 4.4.2][ND8] Mods/Themes Compilation - Be aware this is an AT&T thread, but anything confirmed working there should also work here. This is no guarantee though. Also, please remember, if using ANY theme/mod and you find a bug, reflash the rom clean and test it BEFORE posting it here as a bug report. Questions/reports/etc about any of the mods there should be posted there as well. Thanks!
First! Wow First Port Awesome Work Doc! Quick Question, Can This Be Flashed On T999L?

I don't see any reason why not. If you have any issues you should be able to just restore your android backup or reflash your previous rom or firmware.
If you do give it a try please report back to let us know for sure.

have 8 minutes left on my download going to try and flash to my t999n and see what happens
Splendid job as always Doc!
i install and everything works(including the screen rotation) but my data isn't working on Metro pcs, any idea how i could fix this
Edit: Fixed it had to manually put in the APN settings everything working now =]
You'll probably need to manually enter your apn. I'm not sure what it should be but a quick Google search should net you some good results.
Thank you for trying it out on your T999N btw! This means it should also work just fine on the T999L.
When you say screen rotation works, when you go landscape its not upside down?

Double checked the rotation it is upside down >.<, was so excited i didn't even notice. I attached screenies of the MetroPCS Apn settings if anyone needs them
So it appears in your screenshots that the apn did fix mobile data, right?
I'm pretty sure the screen rotation issue is in the kernel somewhere. I'm looking into it and waiting to hear back from someone else who might have an idea on what to look for.

can we go from the experimental to this one or should we start from scratch?
i get the bootloop too? could it be from using the apps package from the experimental build?

When this happened to me it was because I didn't know to downgrade the radio to ZV8. Once I did that the ROM booted OK.
CAUTION backup your modem and EFS before you downgrade so you can restore them if you want to go back to a newer stock ROM- EFS might not change but modem for sure. I spent a whole day with "no service" trying to get back to ZVE which has been all round best for me.
Ok after some extensive research I finally got it working with the latest nightly jan 20th. I wiped everything except internal.. Flashed the cm12 then zv8 radio.. Wiped cache and dalvic and it booted fine.. I then proceeded to install the appropriate gapps..

Sooo- I'm no developer but I can tell you what worked for me. We're starting from different working roms and, except maybe for the recovery, can't imagine this matters. I am on stock ZVE, Dorimanx bumped kernel V9.55KK and bumped TWRP 2.8.3.1
1. nandroid backup and modem backup
2. wipe standard wipe and system
3. flash ZV8 radio from here- http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2/G2_modems
4. wipe dalvik
5. flash CM nightly (works with 20150120 didn't try older ones)
6. wipe dalvik and reboot
Probably a couple of extra wipes in there but can't hurt. Hope this works for you.
I expect good things from this rom- Shelnutt2 always did a nice things for the Optimus G my last phone.
Thank you
Just wanted to start of saying thanks to @Shelnutt2 for posting up the thread. I'm not sure if you are just going keep the thread up as a place for discussion around the official build for our device OR the CM maintainer that pulled the lucky LS980 number, but either way, thanks!
I came from the December 26th dated alpha build that @Rashed97 did for all the G2 variants and it ran good, few things here and there, but it had been my daily driver since Dec 28th and I've been happy since then. Was apprehensive about flashing the nightly builds because it's usually a regression at first BUT I have to say, so far, so good. My good friend and teammate @thoughtlesskyle and his themes pushed me over the edge, I just had to get the Theme Engine so I could try them on my own device so here I am, on CM12 Official nightly 20150128 and love using the THEMES! :good::good:
All, CM's built in SU control doesn't play nice with Titanium Backup AT ALL (ie, your apps will not restore) so you'll need to either just install SuperSU from the Play Store and update binaries as OR flash it when you flash rom.
Things that did not work in the Unofficial CM12 build that I noticed myself were:
1. No SIM Card warning on lock screen
2. CM Messenger app *send button did not work so app was useless
2a. MMS were not able to be received (not even through Google Messenger app)
3. GPS (well, not like that really worked on stock anyway.....
4. Sometimes system volume would just go to zero requiring reboot to restore
5. VERY hard to get the device to connect to Spark B41 networks (but had SOLID B25/B26 performance)
5a. Mobile networks setting would change on it's on
6. Theme Engine missing
7. Speaker phone didn't work, would turn sound from caller/video chat into very garbled unrecognizable output
8. NFC was SOOOO broken that it required manually deleting the NFC folder from system to keep from 100% wakelock
9. I'm sure other odds and ends but all in all, no show stoppers and I've been quite impressed with the CM12 start for our device
Now, I'm about 1hr fresh on the official build and can confirm that of my list 9 items from unofficial, 2a and 6 are fixed. I'll update as I spend more time with the rom but I'm looking forward to more good things here.
Finding Lollipop for my phone thoroughly made my day. Truly. Thousands of thanks to shel and whomever else got this here.
Flashed 1/28 clean with ZV8 radios via TWRP 2.7.0.0. Way quicker and better-looking and -feeling than stock.
GPS , MMS (with Google Messenger) and speaker work for me.
I've had no trouble with the built-in SU (I dig it), but I restore with ROM Toolbox Pro, not Titanium.
Send button on stock Messaging doesn't work for me either.
It does read "No SIM card - Sprint" on lock screen (as well as during the CM setup process).
Bluetooth works, but texts cannot be read by my car (as they could with stock and most, if not all ROMS on my N5).
Haven't touched NFC. Cheers and thanks again.
If you want the remote from lg, here is the thread for the remote to work on AOSP.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2929146
I've been using it in resurrection ROM for a while now. Since it is from the g3, it has a newer look.
I may come back to cm12, but haven't taken the dive yet.
May wait to see what else Mr Rogers finds. I know cm messenger has been unable to send since the beginning of alphas. Would think they could get that fixed. Also, for a limited data guy, not being able to shut off sprint data has been a issue for me.
Especially since I've heard d802, can shut their off with the toggle.
Looks like using any system profile mutes notifications. Can't get 'em to come back without a reboot.
I'm on the 26th version and just about everything seems to work fine. Sending messages works, sim shows up fine (using consumer cellular [att]), etc. Only thing that I'm curious about is UMS (usb mass storage). My car will not read an mtp device but did read usb mass storage when I was using my motorola atrix (using its internal sdcard, no external card required). Anybody know how to make it work in this rom or should I give that tmobile kk rom a shot (not sure how well it'd work on att)?

Scratch that. GPS isn't working. It can locate me when I'm connected to Wi-Fi, but not otherwise.
Screen is stuck in portrait orientation.
I can't get back to my stock backup. Same thing happened on my LG Optimus G: can't get back to AOSP without a total format.
i apologize for posting here, but i came across this thread looking for cyanogenmod 12 for d803. I saw on github you are a contributor. So, i was wondering that if it was even remotely possible for you to build d803? i know it could be a hassle for you thank you for your hard work in building for the beloved g2.

Got it. Had to clean-flash 2/1 to get screen rotation working, though.
Tried wiping caches and flashing 1/28, then wiping caches and system. Neither worked.
Still, I'm the happiest camper I've been since I've had the G2.
