Yup
I ordered on the first day and got Black. I must say it was a bit of an impulse buy but after reading all the reviews and watching the videos I think I will be really happy!

When are they supposed to arrive?

They are supposed to ship them at the of April, so you will get them in May...
By the way, you can get the student discount applied even if you have already ordered..
Simply send them a support ticket with your order ID and voucher ID - you will get €39 back to your PayPal then.
-> final price €360.

They actually refund 40 €

That is an excellent bit of advice, thanks!
Bad news on the delivery times actually as I think I had it in my mind that it would be arriving next week . I'd better remove the ad I put up for the old phone...

How's the screen under sunlight?
Are the speakers loud enough?
Can you please upload the stock camera app?

No idea as I don't actually have it yet These questions and more can be answered once they actually ship it.

Here in US it is on preorder as well. $500 looks like a good deal considering competitors SGS5 $700 and HTC 1 M8 $700 as well. I use phone mostly for playing HD music so audio chip is essential for me. Unfortunately it isn't revealed, so I only keep hope that Oppo being a company putting certain efforts on creation different consumer electronics can do audio reproduction right. I do not know how Kamerton player will look on this so high resolution screen. It can switch to tablet mode and I would like to avoid it.
Anybody else consider SGS5 and HTC 1 and what was your take?

I've just placed my order yesterday as well.
nice to see another UK user here! XD

Just got the student discount applied! Sweet, thank you Oppostyle

I ordered mine last week. The black US version. Looking forward to it. I hope they start shipping soon!! :good:

I considered both of these but ultimately went with the Oppo because the price was right for an off -contract phone and I'll want to pick up a new one next year after seeing the Qualcomm 2015 roadmap, so not prepared to get tied into an 18-24 month contract!
Also I wanted to give Oppo a chance, they seem to be taking some risks in terms of phone design and I've had the last two Galaxy S versions so something different is on the cards. I may well be the only person in Ireland that buys one, but if there are any other Irish buyers out there you don't have to feel lonely anymore!

I'm in too! With student discount and free gifts I couldnt resist
S5 and M8 are huge disappointments for me... Oppo Find 7a seems to be a perfect phone for me... Just the Color OSwith Android 4.3 and the huge display are things I am not that happy about... But we will see

Picked up mine last month in an Oppo shop in Shenzhen while I was traveling around in China. Very happy with it so far, although I wasn't able to install Google services until yesterday.
Eagerly waiting for some custom roms now!
@vegetaleb: The screen is pretty good under sunlight I'd say. I found the screen to be brighter and clearer than my HTC One M7.
Are the speakers loud enough?
YES! When you turn on MaxxAudio, you'll want to go into the settings right away and turn down the volume. I haven't compared the quality of the speaker to my HTC One yet (it has stereo speakers in the front feat. Beats), but with MaxxAudio turned on you can crank up the bass, treble, volume, etc. This way the sound is pretty awesome for a phone! It's And when using your ear/headphones the sound is just perfect.

Looking to sell my Lapdock -$200 O.B.O.

Hi guys, I'm selling my lapdock for the Atrix. I bought it brand new during launch day at around $300 when bundled with phone. The lapdock is in perfect condition - Never dropped, scratched or put any kinds of drinks near it.
To be honest i've only used my Lapdock for a total of around 40 hours, i was working on a Windows Conversion for the dock but since I'm a Game Designer and I'm starting to get real serious with a project, i need to let go of it and get a real Laptop...i really like this lapdock its very light and very useful (especially after what Sogarth did with his mods).
I currently see onit priced Amazon, Ebay, and a few other sites that sell it for $200 as the lowest. I'm trying to sell it for $200 if possible.
Shipping to 94607?
Sure, that's not too far.
If you both can't make a deal, i am interested to buy this as well. However would you ship internationally ?
Refurbished lapdocks sell for $175.99 with free 2 day shipping from the AT&T website. Mine looked brand new.
Please ignore this post.

Someone created a thread to sell a laptop he bought new and has used. People that are viewing the thread see someone else point them towards a refurbished unit from AT&T, as though to suggest it's better to go there than buy from the person who created the thread. AT&T refurbished units are a crapshot, you don't know what the previous issue was. They have no bearing on the OP's thread and is a full-on c*$kblock, if you will.
Tried PM'ing a couple of times but aint working! Will give 200 providing shipping to Melbourne Australia is not too expensive. PM me if you can
why the mods havent come in yet i dont know but this isnt the buy&sell section
OSNPA, are you suggesting that it would be better to keep an unwitting Atrix user in the dark, letting him or her purchase a used lapdock for around $35 more than the cost of an "officially" used lapdock, just so the seller will not be offended?
It's called market competition. An informed consumer living in the U. S. with the opportunity to purchase a refurbished dock from ATT would never pay more and wait longer for one unless he or she were doing the seller a favor.
To put it simply, if the seller intends to sell this dock to an ATT customer, he or she will have to lower the price or take advantage of someone's ignorance. In my opinion, it would be bad form to keep a consumer in the dark and just sit back and snicker as you watch a transaction (or in this case, a rip off) transpire. But hey, at least the seller didn't get his feelings hurt AND he made more than what he should have.
Fortunately for the seller, not everyone has access to a refurbished lapdock, specifically our friends overseas, and $200 is quite a bargain in that market. I think everyone has a chance to win in this situation, and to me, it seems like bad form to try and prevent this ideal scenario -- one in which no one feels cheated.
I don't mean to attack you, OSNPA, but I'm trying to understand what you have to gain by trying to foster a market on these forums in which the lapdock is kept at an artificially high price. Are you trying to sell one yourself? Anything to help me understand where you're coming from would be much appreciated.
To the seller, I think you will have no problem selling the dock for $200. (I would not have started so low.)
To anyone who does not have access to a refurbished lapdock, this price is almost impossible to beat.

That's actually not true. Refurbished is anything that has been brought back to factory specifications and tested to be working. Yes, some of these are broken units that have been repaired, but MANY others are just returned within the 30-day return period, especially for a once $400+ item like the lapdock. Mine also looks like its from the assembly line. More knowledge here: http://www.att.com/shop/wireless/devices/buy-refurbished-phones.jsp
I'm sure yours looks great though so happy selling!

Well, if customers are uninformed on the price of refurbished lapdocks when there's a thread dedicated to it in this very sub-forum, well I have no pity for them. It's a consumer's responsibility to educate themselves. He's not selling a refubished unit, it is not the same situation, so the prices should have no bearing on what the OP asks. Regardless of whether money is involved, think of it this way: a developer releases a ROM and the 1st response to that thread is another developer saying that he also released a ROM and go to this other thread to read all about it. You may like that idea, I don't know, to me it's a wtf moment.

Disclaimers: I don't know anyone in this thread, I am not selling or buying a lapdock, no animals were harmed in the making of this post, and I am not responsible for you bricking your phone. I just ask the opposite question as you: why is the OP not allowed to sell his lapdock for whatever the market pays?

Hi,
i dont understand the utility of nfc devices at home or work, as the video shows, i would just install llama, make a rule based on the cell antenas at your work and home ad you'll get the wifi/sound/bluetooth things on/off and free because i understood sony nfc devices were around 60 $/€ quite expensive for that kind of tasks
meh, bugger paying that much for them, just get some of the ntag203 stckers from rapidnfc.com.
they can be stuck anywhere, and they're about 65p each if you buy 10.
use it with the NFCTaskManager and Tasker, and they're pretty much nothing you can't get the phone to do with a tag.

I got some off eBay, quite a few for 5 Euro as far as I remember. Just check for compatibility, they usually mention conpatible with Galaxy Nexus, then it would work with other phones too.
I got some cheap unlabeled ones off ebay too. The guy says they work with android. http://www.ebay.com/itm/180854593093?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

Will probably enable the option of orders going out without tracking numbers,
however if this options is chosen, NFCzone can not be held responsible if the
postal service throws packages away. But I think we can trust that won't happen Receipts that the package was sent in the first place, can always be displayed on request.
But yeah, you're right it does seem a little silly to pay 22€ for shipment on an order for 10€ for example

Basically we need to install liveware from martket too
and Sony is so limited memory space which pre-define color tag's usage
Blue: semc://liveware/A1/1/NT1/1/smarttags1
Red: semc://liveware/A1/1/NT1/2/smarttags1
Black: semc://liveware/A1/1/NT1/3/smarttags1
White: semc://liveware/A1/1/NT1/4/smarttags1
we need a better NFC tag with more memory space

[Q] Domestic Hong Kong HTC ONE X Users...where did you buy...

Dear All,
Fellow HTC users, what store did you buy your HOX; Broadway, Fortress, One2Free, Smartone... Any bugs or glitches? What firmware did your HOX arrive with? A small initial review would be great.
Fortress
I live in England but I went to Hong Kong on holiday and I Pre-Ordered & brought my HTC ONE X Premium Pack with Beats Solo from Fortress for HK$5680
There were no hardware issues when i brought it but it had some software issues such as; jumping screen, live wallpaper stopping when scrolling, and signal problems.
The Firmware/Software number it came with is 1.26.708.2
So far this phone is awesome, super fast and smooth and fast boot up time without fast boot enabled, Sometimes it can lag but that's another software issue, hopefully HTC will fix at least some of the bugs in the next update.
Same here: Fortress $5698 with Beats Solo, 1.26.708.2
issues: photo quality is not as great as expected. quite hot at the back during gaming.
anyway, no regrets
Good stuff...
Thanks Zero and bighead.
What colour did both of you pick? Any live photos of your HOX would be great. I'm waiting till May and see if they have any OTA to be released. bighead, any new firmware updates from HTC HK? Is the phone very smooth when scrolling? Force 2D GPU work?
Thanks again.
Is it safe to buy HTC One X in Sin Tat Plaza?
Hi guys,
I'm currently in a business trip in Taiwan and going to be this upcoming Saturday in Hong-Kong for 1 day. I'm planning to buy there HTC One X, as I've heard it is cheaper than here in Taiwan (official price in Taiwan is about 20900 TWD, which is about 5550HKD).
I saw in this thread that the price for HTC One X in Sin Tat Plaza is about 4600 HKD or even 4300 HKD (if you bargain).
My question...Is it safe to buy HTC One X in Sin Tat Plaza? I don't want to buy a grey market one. I read many warnings over the forums NOT to buy from there, as they tend to 'switch' parts in the phones and also sell you 'parallel import' phones.
Can you safely recommend on Sit Tat Plaza? And/or can you recommend on somewhere else to buy it? Fortress or Broadway maybe? The problem is that the price in both Fortress and Broadway is about 5200 HKD. Do you think I can bargain on the price also there???
Thanks in advance...
Fortress, Broadway, Gome etc..

Zachig,
Stay away from sin dat. Even locals stay away. It's run by triads so try to avoid sin dat for purchasing phones. On the other hand, cases, screen protectors are safe as its rather cheap on price and selection is very good. The subjected jobs are safe for tourists and minimal price bargaining is ok say $1-200. They have stacks of phones just behind the counter so you can pick and choose which phone based on visual inspection, production dates etc.. they also bundle free screen protectors, additonal chargers, cases etc... its up to your bargaining power. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip man. I guess I'll buy then in Fortress. As a local, what do you think are my chances to get a discount (by bargain) on the HTC One X in Fortress?
I'll be staying in Novotel hotel on Nathan Road. Is there any fortress store nearby?
Hi, I pre-orderd white HOX from Smartone price at $5698, I have 10% discount and got it on the first day of release.
Everything is fine for the first machine presented to me, I'm happy with it except:
- Battery issue
- Heat issue
- Power button is not very good

Zachig,
Head over to Ocean Centre (Kowloon's largest mall right by the harbour).
1. You should walk over to Jordan MTR station.
2. Take the MTR to Tsim Tsa Tsui (TST) (Central Direction; one station away to TST).
3. Proceed to Exit A1.
4. Make a right turn after you exit onto Haiphong Road.
5. Walk 2 minutes till you get to Canton Road.
6. The Mall spans the whole block.
7. Go into any entrance and look for floor directory or ask one of the beautiful info girls.
8. All the electronics stores are located on the same floor and right across from rach other.
OR
You can walk down Nathan Road for 10 minutes till you get to Haiphong Road.
Make a right turn and head down to Canton Road.
Good luck bargaining.
All retail....
Fortress and Broadway are selling HOX w/o beats headphones for $5180.

Everything is fine for the first machine presented to me, I'm happy with it except:

- Power button is not very good

Black Friday Deals

curious to see if anyone knows if retailers like Best Buy will offer the Moto 360 on their Black Friday deal list?
I just picked up mine at Best buy via open box item ($217), and I have 14 days to return it. Given that this is a new hot item, I'm not anticipating very much of discount in savings if made available on Black Friday - retail is still $250 at both best buy and Moto's website.
bump on this
I bought an Open Box 360 at Best Buy this past weekend for $205 but I have until Jan 15 to return it because of their holiday return policy....you may want to look into that....I doubt it will go much lower than that. What i might do is see if the Gear S drops a lot so I can have both LOL!
The best I can find is buying Target gift cards on black friday at 10% off, then waiting until Saturday the 29th to buy the 360 from their website at effectively 10%off. it would be 224 before taxes

The Jan15 return policy will only give you store credit in case you return the watch and not a refund.

That's fine since if I return it I will get either the ZenWatch or Gear S...but so far I am liking the 360...the only real issue is trying to find a good and safe metal band that won't break the bank

Yup. Couple of things I am interested in terms of long term usage is 1) Amoled burn-in (some LG GWAR users reporting burn-in) 2) charger pin problems like rusting/loose contact (That happened to original LG G watch)

That's only after keeping them on charger overnight with the screen on? I turn my screen off while it's charging. Then remove it after charging is done.

Front glass broken

Hi there,
today I dropped my phone on the street and the front glass got broken. The phone is still fully working. Touchscreen and everything else works without problems.
A couple of months ago I changed the front glass of a Samsung Galaxy S4 with all the necessary stuff, e.g. loca glue. For the first trial the result was acceptable. No reading the other threads:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3522863
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3592043
most of the posters don't recommend the replacement of the front glass. On ebay I can find both only the frontglass (about 10€) and the full suited display (about 135€). If I take an offer from china, the price would lower to 65€. Another option would be to send the phone to Oneplus and let those guys repair it.
Now the decisions I have to made:
Just buying the front glass: Would be an option, if it is the same difficulty like the Samsung phones. But I've found only one Youtube Tutorial. At 1:45 he puts something on the screen, but not sure if it's clue or just something to clean.
Buying a display from China: for about 65€ would be also ok. This can take up to 6 weeks of shipping. And in some forums I've read the quality should be much lower than the original parts from Oneplus. Does anyone have any experience about this?
Sending to Oneplus ist the last option. But this depends on the price. I opened a ticket and now I'm waiting for their offer.
What would you recommend? Has anybody changed the frontglass and can tell me about the success?

Open the ticket mate. No fuss. You'll get your device going in maximum 2 weeks. I tried replacing the glass myself and failed, I cracked the screen half way through...
Buying from eBay... Idk, but if people say they're not original, why Risk? Then again there's the struggle of doing it yourself.
The cheapest and safest is to send it to ONEPLUS.
Cheers

I have replaced hundreds of screens in devices and for the most part it is cheaper and far easier then anything else.
Im about to replace my USB port myself as soon as my tool kit gets here on Monday.
I would never send a device to the OEM to be fixed. It will cost you twice as much plus the time without a device is just stupid.
I have always trusted these people with all the stuff I need to repair. Never trust some random Youtube video.

You could find a cheaper knock off im sure but I hold a simple believe when it comes to electronics. You get what you pay for. You buy cheap and you get cheap.
The USB port was like 4 bucks with 25 dollars shipping lol.

That's been my general experience as well, with probably the exception of Intel CPUs. Got my 1700X and is better for building than a 7700K or 8700K for almost half the price.

Got an answer from Oneplus:
Screen: EUR 57.20
Fingerprint Sensor: EUR 12.60
Labor: EUR 18.50
Vat: 23%
Total: EUR 108.61
Not sure, if there are any shippig costs to be added.

57 Euros doesn't sound bad actually especially if it's the regular screen.

What? It may suck to send your device away but why are you saying they charge you twice as much? That's misinformation. I sent mine and it only cost 80£ (labour and shipping included). Where can you buy an original display for 80 quid? Even the Knock offs from eBay cost more than that.

You are not adding in the cost of buying g another disposable device to use for the weeks your device is gone. That's for you. Do you know how much it would cost from the US for a repair?

Yep! Not gonna pay $400 to repair a device that is literally $100 something on Ebay or Swappa, and I am definitely not going to pay $400 for a device that is guaranteed going to bootloop again in only a years time. So I spent $300 and bought a new OP3. Originally got the V10 because as someone coming from IOS, I automatically thought all Android phones could be unlocked and rooted with ease, with some o them sweet custom ROMs. This guy didn't do his research and ended up with using LG's, horrible, horrible (I cannot stress this enough) software. Not to mention the extra thick layer of AT&T bloat behind it. I don't really care about the hardware in a phone, as long as its good enough to have the software run good.

I hear you there. I had a g2 for a while. Then moved to the nexus but the 6 had issues dealing with the cold. So got the 1+3 for a steal from a dev. To be honest. I wanted to hate it because the CEO is an idiot. But other then some crappy BT issues when on a weak wifi connection. (licensing issues I'm sure) and the fact it won't work with my smart watch. I really can't complain about about.
I replaced my Motherboard and Battery by sending it to Oneplus. I do live in the EU so that could be a big difference. But a DHL driver picked it up on Monday. And I got it back the same week on Friday fully repaired without additional costs. A screen replacement here costs about €100 which is not expensive at all.. The problem mainly is that original parts are very rare and mostly fake.

I used DHL for the first time Getting the USB port. Ordered it before Xmas and got it 2 weeks later. I was impressed with DHL as they went out of their way to make sure I got the package.
