Grand Theft Auto v1.1 (Finally Working!!!)

Let me start out by saying I bought this game, twice...I have yet to be refunded. As many of you know when this game first came out it wasn't compatible with the Galaxy Nexus, it wasn't until the 2nd day of sales that our devices were blocked from seeing it in the market. Earlier today Rockstar upgraded the game to 1.1, but I wasn't able to get it through the market, so I got it by other means. The game launched this time and downloaded the data files, but it strangely finished after 47%. The game plays fine, doesn't have audio during gameplay for some reason. It doesn't multitask, when you hit home, then go back to the game it will start up from scratch. (After putting the audio files on the Galaxy Nexus myself it works fine, I guess thats what didn't download since there are about 200mb of audio files). I've been playing the game on my iPhone the past few days, and I must say the experience is much better on the Galaxy Nexus, the bigger controls, more vibrant colors, and bigger screen really make a difference.

I haven't encountered that yet in GTA, but it did happen 4-5x during Shadowgun. I still had no trouble beating the game.

The multi touch issues dosnt depend on what games you play. It will happen when ever multi touch is needed after a while.

its hard to notice. but when you accelerate and you turn. your car slows down. or when you push turn and than accelerate than it wont even move(might not bo on all device's)
shadowgun doesnt even start on my gnex

i only have it with just a view games

I did the same thing, although audio worked fine and all packages downloaded normally to 100%
still no multitouch though.

I also have the 1.1 version, it launched, downloaded data and then I found myself at the android home screen. Now when I try to open the app, it closes immediately. Any ideas?

Uninstall then reinstall it.

I already tried that, and I also downloaded the data again :/ Which Android version are you using? Mine is 4.0.3.

4.0.1, nonrooted, stock

4.0.2 rooted downloaded and runs fine, How is everyones frame rate? Gets a little choppy for me at times. Should be better when it's officially compatible with the galaxy nexus

I can't even see it on the market on the phone, when searching on the market site it says its not compatible with galaxy nexus yet?

Everything is fine for me. There was more lag/choppiness on the iPhone 4, it is a single core phone

They haven't changed the restriction, you'll probably see it tomorrow. You can get apks outside of the market, but that's all I'm saying.

Ahh I see, Guess it was just acting up at that moment.. seems to be running fine now.
Hmmm it's showing up in the market for me. I bought it for $5.30 with tax If I recall

Im not experiencing any issues with the game

Works on my gnex perfect so far! Feels like 60fps. Killing hoes for 30 minutes now and it used 9% of my battery(GSM)

This is version 2.10 - old version was 2.8.x
A few differences in this one, mainly that you can set your own wake up command! (Haven't tried it myself. "Hi Galaxy" comes standard) Couple more bluetooth settings, ability to set memos and alarms, opens apps, new UI, yada, yada, yada
Edit: found out the hard way by installing on my GF's GSII... this is made for 720p screens too

Looks pretty sweet. I'll have to give it a go although I do like the type as you speak function of the default speech to voice service.

vlingo is dead to me.
since they changed a while ago... they got rid of their keyboard which my wife loved, and they changed the way the long pressed search button activates their tool. dead i say.

i am also getting nothing but crashes if its open for more then about 10 seconds. Doesn't say it force closes or anything it just closes and goes back to the app drawer. I'm using it on Gummy 7.6

Weird, I'm on AOKP M3 and I haven't seen it crash yet. I'll look at it today if I get a chance.

One from market doesn't wake up with "Hi Galaxy", it's "Hi VLingo", and you can't change it. This one is also made for our 720p screen. Also a couple extra options in this.

Social Update doesn't work on GNex

on AOKP M3 and unable to keep Voice Talk from force closing... Really wish this was available for GNex as I like the special features..

Those of you getting FCs, how are you installing it??

Facebook integration isn't baked into ICS. Did you try Twitter?

I think i figured it out. Its not quite 100% stable, but it does work well overall. The crashing that people are seeing when they can do NOTHING without a crash happens when you use any other wake-up command OTHER then the default "Hi Galaxy". If you don't change the wake-up command it works fine.
When i was changing the command it would crash before i could do anything. Tried it 3 times. Uninstalled and re-installed. Then i didn't change the command and it worked. Once i KNEW it worked, i changed the command as a test and it crashed again.
Can someone else who is getting constant crashes confirm this?

That was my conclusion as well with this app.

I'll see about testing again, but I left the wake up command the way it was (Hi Galaxy)... Mine would allow me to do a command but once complete it would then crash...
Are you leaving other version of Vlingo on your phone or removing?

I've installed it on my GNEX and it installed fine, made it through the tutorial as well, but it crashed when I tried to change the wake up phrase. Anyone care to give it a shot at making it work? I was going to start with something simple like editing build.prop but I can't seem to find any info on what the S3 is listed as.
It's now working perfectly!! Nex7er in the Note forum discovered if you install the app from system/app it works perfectly and I can confirm it runs perfect on the nexus!!!

I installed on latest CM9 nightly, no issues here. I installed it normally without being in system folder.
Edit:
Seems too clunky and pointless/useless. I can do all those commands by tapping the screen manually and I'll know they are correct rather than relying on a sketchy voice to text algorithm.

To each his own I guess. As a guy with only one arm I can state for me, it is MUCH easier and faster to say "new dental appointment, June 5th at 9am and then confirm with yes then it is to:
open apps, select calendar, click the month view tab, flip to June, click on the 5th, select "new" on the 9am tab and then type out dental, etc...

Running bamf/jamesbond and get a force close on it
Cleared data on it and reloaded... Skipped trying to set a new wakeup and it will go through to asking me "which app do you want to open "
Unfortunately no matter what I say she comes back with that same line.
Of course, restarted again and didn't bother to wake her up... And now commands work.

Tried and seems to work pretty good

Tried setting an alarm but couldn't save for some reason.

Same here can't save alarms...

Probably it's searching for SGS3 alarm app

Can confirm that adding appointments and checking weather work though.
Timer will work as far as countdown, but doesn't seem to hook into any vibrate/ring function to notify you when it finishes.

It took me a few tries, and I only got it to install by skipping the setup part of it. The apk claimed I already had s voice installed. And, when I went to remove it, because it crashed despite installing it from system/app, it only gave me the option to remove updates. I'm running stock ROM and kernel. Unfortunately, I don't see how to get to settings for it, so I'm stuck calling it "Hi Galaxy!"

It's ok, kind of a novelty more than anything. I guess for people who have certain disabilities it can be a great tool, but for me I can't see much of a use for it. I can point and click faster.

If the alarm worked - it'd be fastest to set alarm that way.
Also, the timer would be nice if it actually did something when the countdown finished.
Little things like that I could see it handy for... plus for answers you'd look up on google, could be quicker to answer at times.

After some digging I found that with the Galaxy Nexus at 4.0.4 is having issues because its based off of 4.0.3 Workaround is to install the app under system/apps instead of regular installer. I used root explorer and had R/W enabled placed the file and opened/installed from their.

[Q] HTC One M8 Camera/Video Recording Bug

I currently have the HTC One (M8) for Att and have the strangest bug in the HTC stock camera app.
When I go into video mode and hit the "record button", the button will only work EXACTLY every other time.
Now this is what I currently done to try to find a solution to No Avail.
Force Closed the app
Cleared the Cache
Reset the phone many times
Factory restored the phone twice.
Now the Google camera works fine, so this seems to be a software issue. I have got the HTC Camera app to work only once
by resetting the phone, and not installing any updates from the play store for the htc apps, and att bloatware.
btw the htc m8 is not rooted, as stock as they come.
If you have any thoughts on how to fix this bug I would GREATLY appreciate it

I have noticed exactly the same thing. On completely stock phone on 1.54.401.10.
I am learning to double stab the shutter button! Almost certainly a bug HTC need to squash, unless it's in the manual somewhere. Do you also have terrible strobing when you use live HDR mode?

Try disabling the Google Now/Ok Google available in all screens. I think it interferes with microphone on the video camera. The first press seems to disable the Ok Google listening, then the second press allows recording. It worked for me.. Good to know my solution is helping people figure it out. I went through 3-4 wipes/restores/flash to custom roms, thinking it was either Xposed or root causing it to figure it out, lol, so I'm glad that you guys didn't have to go through that.

Just for info.. I am on ARHD 7.0, and used velvet.zip to enable Ok Google in all screens. Guess camera 6.0.772726 did not like that.. Any updated camera.apk I tried was not successful either..

UPDATE Android 4.4.3 Update Fixes the bug, (Currently I have the Att model) no more issues with google now and video recording, the camera infacts shows the mic from google now stopping with a message

This thread just saved my Saturday! On VIPER 3.1 and I don't use the video feature much but had to send a short instructional video via text on how to remove a laptop hard drive and the darn camera kept crashing...disabling Google now on all screens did the trick and saved me hours of frustration! Thank you!

I hate reviving old threads but I am encountering this now on my Verizon lollipop M8. I turned off the Google voice detection on all screens to no avail. Then I find a nearly identical setting in Nova Launcher settings. Sadly that made no difference either , but good to know if that is the cause for others.
I narrowed the problem down to AudioManager Pro. The moment I uninstall it the camera works great. I hope they update AM Pro soon but I doubt it. It hasn't had an update since 2013.

SwipePad - edge launcher!

Just a quick shout-out for this app. I was looking for something to replace the usefulness of the Note Edge application shortcuts, and came across SwipePad. It's pretty darn good for swiping in from an edge on the S6 Edge and launching apps from anywhere. I guess this would work on any phone, but feels so natural swiping over the curve to get this. Loving it!

It's the very bottom option under "look and feel" when you select the notification. If you turn off the notification completely, swipe pad will fall out of memory and you'll have to manually start it sometimes. I just choose hide. Never leaves memory and i don't have the ugly icon

I have used this app since my SGS2. Sadly, I wiped my phone and as you said, Swipepad cannot be found in the play store anymore. I downloaded an APK from a third party site, which works (I'm rooted). But I am unsure how to get the addons to work after installing them from the third party site :-/
I purchased the morespaces add-on previously and that is not in Google Play anymore as well.

Swipepad started to behave weird. It needed an update... So I gave up. I guess I still have the backup from the more space add-on. I made the backup with titanium backup.
However, in the meanwhile I switched to xposed edge. The app is nice. Plenty of features. The responsiveness although is not perfect. There is sometimes a delay of a second or two. I don't know if there is a way to prioritize the app. I am on Resurrection remix.

Thanks, I'll try out edge since I have Xposed as well. I was looking for Swipepad alternatives today actually, but the results are all dated since this app is so old.
In the meantime, I'm attempting to make the Swipepad add-ons system apps based on a suggestion from this thread. My TI backup was wiped along with the rest of my phone. I may have a copy on my desktop when I get home. If not, can you send me a TI copy of yours?

That edge app is actually very easy to use. Nevertheless, it took a while till I figured it out. At the beginning it's a bit counterintuitive.
