Well i get to the yes or no prompt and then the device disconnects. this is beyond ridiculous!!!
ADB will not stay connected

After I do adb reboot then the second command, it seems like my phone disconnects then reconnects to mtp. I think that is where my problem is. If I could only get my phone to not connect the second time I think it would work.

Maybe try a case sensitive Yes ... mine didnt work the first time then i reboot my pc tried again and still did not work till i typed in Yes. I am now s-off..

Rinse wash repeat. Start over from the beginning and take your time. Mine went offline after the push and I had you plug unplug it to get adb to recognize it again. Run a device command before your shell and make sure it is still on line.

I have read over and over about if firewater says your device is not compatible then it will not work at this time but I have seen others get s-off with the t mobile version. What exactly is the trick? Those of you that got s-off did you receive the not compatible message? I am also on linux mint 16 and I am not new by any means to this stuff. It is driving me nuts though.

Just like the command window says your device is not compatible. It's unfortunate but there's nothing you can do. The compatibility has nothing to do with carrier, region, software, or anything else this is been stated many times in the developer thread. It comes down to the luck of the draw and you unfortunately were unlucky. Nobody really knows what the compatibility issue is except for the fire water developers and they have asked for speculation to remain out of the thread for specific reasons.

Here is a shot of the boot loader

I'm a little confused.. I haven't messed with this stuff in almost a year so I've forgotten a lot....
My phone was just s-off, rooted, nusense rom. I restored my old backup in twrp to remove nusense. Will this finish returning my phone to stock? Or is this just a fix for the guys who got stuck in the middle of the process? (linked here from the other s-on thread in general discussion)
clarification: phone is still s-off and rooted with twrp recovery. I only removed nusense so far.

This will leave you 100% stock. Recovery included. If you are s on and want to go stock and root you will need to flash this...then fastboot flash the recovery of your choosing and then flash supersu zip of choosing in your custom recovery.

Phone SIM card issue after Firmware change.

I am having problems with my phone recognizing my SIM.
To give some background, I soft bricked my phone flashing a different firmware, trying to go to GPE. I got the phone back to stock with RUU, re-unlocked bootloader and I am also S-Off. I flashed the MIUI Rom and it could not recognize my SIM, so I flashed Tasks ROM and the same problem. I then flashed this radio “1.16.21331931.LA11G_20.31A.4145.02L http://d-h.st/NUa | Thanks cruzin_cruzing!” found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2736921. That did not fix the issue.
When I type *#06# to see my IMEI nothing shows up, but when I look up my IMEI in fastboot using “fastboot oem readimei” it shows the correct IMEI. Does this have something to do with the issue?
Any help on this would be great, I have hit a wall doing everything I know to do.

Try a factory reset from recovery.
Sorry to say this but why do you open a new thread for your troubles when you dont even get back to the old one and continue there !
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2948577
Not very nice of you......and you could have used that thread to continue with your issues.
People put time and effort in your issue it would be nice to get back to them when you get it solved.
Ultimately your goal is to have a working device now right.
Grab the stock ruu and get it back to stock ,from there maybe just use it for texting, messaging,Facebook, etc.

I am using the SIM right now in another phone, so its not bad. I think the problem has something to do with the IMEI. The phone shows no IMEI when I type *#06#, it is just blank. But, in fastboot, it shows the correct IMEI when I type "fastboot oem readimei"
What would make the phone not recognize the IMEI when it shows it correctly in fastboot?

The phone does turn on and everything is functional except that I cannot connect to the network, so I have no signal. I have checked the apns, there are no apns listed, but my phone will not let me add any. I believe that is due to the IMEI issues.

I did some work over the holidays on my phone to try and get it working again with no luck. I upgraded the firmware downgraded the firmware, installed several ROMs, went back to stock and I still have the same issue. The phone can't seem to read the IMEI number, which is causing it to not be able to connect to ATTs network, but I can see the correct IMEI in fastboot. Below are a couple of screenshots I took while working on it. If anyone can help come up with new ideas on how to fix this, that would be helpful.

LG G3 Root help LG-D850/D85021q AT&T Android 5.0.1

Im trying to root my LG G3 and all the methods are not working for some reason. I have tried purpledrake, LG One Click GUI & script, ioroot, and towelroot without success. I dont know what else i can say to get assistance. What i really want to do is remove an absurd amount of bloatware that is on it.
Assuming you've already tried this method...

It seems that you don't have all the required file. Your computer can't find it.
Redownload them, put them all in the same folder (the root of your system drive is the easiest), and look for typing mistake in the file path

Im also not 100% sure where exactly i am supposed to download the files from, i got LG_Root.zip from the "original guide". Is that the wrong place?

Hello my friend. Try the One Click Method. All you have to do is have usb debugging enabled and adb installed on pc (I think, might not be needed). Also when asked you need to go to download mode.

Look in Settings > Developer option > USB Debugging
If you can't find it, ITS NOT ENABLE, and its because of this that every tool fail. look at this: http://www.kingoapp.com/root-tutorials/how-to-enable-usb-debugging-mode-on-android-5-lollipop.htm)

Not any luck here either. I was trying to root my friend's LG3 and tried many guides many PC tools and One Click apks but had no success. And yes it is also 21q but its 850 not 855. I guess it doesnt matter anyway. Sad thing. Not being able to fully take control of your own device.
He wanted to remove some trash apks and install titanium backup to get ride of voice mate and some other stuff. It really really annoys me, I was so fkn sure I could help him. Hopefully they will make a tool for rooting this new firmware.

Edit: Success!! Finally got my D850 rooted and I"m on 21q! I used this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3129197
The way I did it was I downloaded the Newest root method V03.zip file and extracted it. Next, I opened up the folder, right clicked in the window and opened up a command prompt. I made sure that adb found my device first then I typed in: root.bat at the command prompt.
Got the text saying that I had to manually put my phone into download mode. Did that and bam the script started doing it's thing. Pulled the battery to get out of download mode and voila, rooted.
Im so confused, I've tried following the forum thread and dont understand how to get this to work. I downloaded files and extracted to my desktop, then I enabled debugging, I'm not sure how to send the files to my phone?
Any help would be much appreciated!
Never mind, I had it rooted all along, for some reason, on the root checked basic app, it never prompted me to hit grant or deny for access, I hit grant this time when I opened app and, not it shows successfully rooted!!
Finally Worked

Thank you so much for pointing me to that thread.
i tried at least 3 or 4 root methods for my wife's new phone (i need to root it and unlock bootloader before she gets it, i may have accidentally wiped her phone before : )
i will be sure to spread this around for those looking for d85021q exploits

This is the first site I got to work! Finally, after days of trying...
Now what can I do with my g3? can I put my boostmobile number onto it? can i remove at&t off of it?

Should we wait to see if it is rooted ?

I have in the past setup my new devices, spent hours then somebody finally roots the device.
This usually means wiping the device, unlocking the bootloader, rooting and reinstalling everything again.
It is much easier if the first thing I do is unlock the bootloader and then root.
I then set up my device, and back up everything using Titanium Backup.
What do you do keep using the old device for a few weeks and wait for news and a procedure to unlock the bootloader and root ?

Not even ordering until I am sure that is all in place.
Can anyone buy the pixel for me and send it to me in Zimbabwe, I cannot order it for now.
I'm waiting for a method of gaining root access to be achieved before placing my order. The phone I have now (Nexus 6) still works fine so I'm in no rush. Also, I am kind of interested in seeing what kind of reviews the XL gets anyways. Mainly regarding the volume of the speaker.

How do you plan on paying for it? I can bring it with me on my trip to Zimbabwe 10/17/16.
I can do payment via PayPal.

You will almost certainly have root access on this device. The bootloader looks to be unlockable unless you get the Verizon branded version.
Remember, root doesn't mean supersu, or even the su binary. Root means the ability to run commands in the superuser context. You will have that at the very least. From there a new solution to give root access to normal android applications may need to be developed, but that is only a matter of time. As long as your bootloader is unlockable, you can build whatever you need into the kernel as a module, or run a service from init (like daemonsu).

in the past only unlocking the bootloader erased data... not the actual rooting. why not just unlock the bootloader before setting it up, continue to use the device as you please, and then just wait until a root method is released?

That is what I normally do...... unlock the bootloader right out of the box (it wipes the phone then before you set it up) then you have the option to root later on if you like.
ill keep my s7. the phone looks smooth And fluid but i hate the design. its also way overpriced.
How could you wait? Buy it. If for some wild reason we couldn't get root. I'm sure it would still be returnable. If you wait, the phone will already have root and a custom ROM before one ever shows up on your doorstep.lol

I don't do that.... I usually buy Verizon and purposely get at least 3 phones and return them as defective when I dont have root to my own device. Just as a little F-U to them. Then I finally hack my own phone and go with it. But I'll return as many as I can as defective first until they wise up and stop sending them to me.
You simply should not have to pay extra when hardware and software shouldn't be tied together in the first place. Why would I pay extra for an unlocked device that is exactly the same hardware as the locked one.
That is definitely the most immature thing I've heard all week.
You don't like their policies so you are 'showing them'? Give me a break. My 11 year old grew out of that behavior 5 years ago...

Dude its not hard to completely re set your phone quit being lazy I do it like 30 + times in 2 months, and install many themes apps widgets and configurations. I also use Nova launcher back up where you just have to install widget apps etc. But re setting a phone is nothing and do not expect root on this phone. Just google search root pixel phones. Many sources say its going to be impossible. Hope you didnt get it for root purposes. lol

I even already wait 3rd year cause I skip ugliest nexus 6p and now pixel xl which has no unlocked bootloader and no root, and on top of that it has NOT wireless charging AGAIN !!!
I'm incredibly disappointed because Pixel XL seems good even it has HUGE, gigantic bezels on top and bottom.
For now Nexus 6 is the best and hope not the last google phone.

[Guide] installing FM radio apk on rooted honor 6X

Please follow the steps in order to get the FM apk back on rooted phone.
Download the file from https://mega.nz/#!OQcASYKZ!cNosL1J5y5YFpe25MgrW41LxUzEwlUyroVI0gxw0YXw
copy the file to adb folder on your PC
Open the command prompt as right click and open command prompt here and run below command in order
adb root
adb remount
adb push FM.apk /data/hw_init/product/app/HwFMRadio.apk
adb reboot
Hope this works for you. If there is any issue faced, just comment and we will see for a work around. There are few changes in the directories so not sure 100% if this will work but most probably it should based on the radio.apk location on stock phone.

I have downloaded the FM.apk and pasted it in the adb folder
But when I give adb root , it says "adbd cannot run as root in production builds" what does that mean?
It seems like the above method doesn't work for installing the FM radio on Honor 6x model BLN-L21C185

BTW you didn't tell me to reboot into recovery while inputting those commands, so update your guide please, and there was an error in the commands too, that's why it didn't work for me. Otherwise it should have work as per you.

That should be run on adb not recovery.
Please have a look at these screen shots, and think what is wrong with the push command,
Look at the below image
It is showing the path of the folder "app" we have created by over push command. It has two radio names, one app and one folder named radio.apk bcuz I've issued the command two time each time with a little change of inverted commas, and in my opinion not only the name is wrong but the apk file is also in the wrong folder.
And let see what's inside that radio.apk folder
And by clicking on that apk file what happens?
And then when I click install it says this,

Hay @shashank1320, I have solved my FM radio problem by following another https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3606037 thread in the forum, but the theme still doesn't work. I don't know what happened and where did I go wrong because my device's theme was absolutely fine and I wanted to tweak the FM radio but now the theme has gone.

Actually I've forgot to tell you that I installed flashfire yesterday and it detected the small OTA update in my memory card and asked me to prepare and flash it, I just clicked yes and it rebooted to its environment and tried to flash the full package but failed. But later I saw that the FM radio was installed in that process. And later when I flashed the stock recovery and installed FF and again downloaded the same small OTA update and let the FF to flash in the hope that the theme would also come this way but it didn't come. Now I am stuck with the same theme, theme isn't my problem but why don't I have it? That's the question. I'll try the full software though.
I think now the best partner is FF as far as it has taken me out of the crowd.

Well well well, please don't get me wrong but will I also be able to get OTA updates by debranding and how secure is it to use a lot of modifications while I only used the FF and am facing the consequences yet.
My device's security is a great concern for me and I never ever want to be an open hole.

Dont worry it will be full stock. I did 10 days back from China to India. For security concerns, you can relax here.i am yet to get the OTA as there wasn't any rollout yet

I have got a great news for you guy, I solved my honor 6x BLN-L21C185's theme and FM radio problem myself. It's a long story I'm going to create a thread on that.
But my new concern is that I am still on TWRP and I have got an OTA update B371, but it failed to flash due to costum recovery.
Now is it right that I will unzip the update.zip file and creat a dload folder in the SDcard and paste the unzipped things in it, Uninstall the Magisk from its own menu and than flash stock recovery of B361 by adb bootloader and then before start press and hold the three buttons to tell the recovery to update from the dload folder of the SDcard OR I'll have perform a factory reset on the device and download the OTA update again to upgrade to B371.
