Just delete the super user app. There should be an unroot option in there somewhere. You shouldn't need to worry about the recovery. But I believe there is a stock recovery in the non carrier branded forum

You could download this rom and once it's done downloading open the .zip up and delete Superuser.apk from either /system/app or Data/app. Then when you boot up it should look normal enough. After that you could just flash a stock recovery
IMO that's your best option since I haven't seen a ruu yet.

Please Help me Dudes
Yo
I have a quick question for the administrators. I was on Cyanogenmod with TWRP Recovery on my Htc one M8, i did everything stock (installed 2.22.401.4 odexx stock rom, with stock recovery, relocked the bootloader and turner S-ON) Now i have OTA update and when i click install now it shows red triangle and the update fails. When i go into recovery it shows something like 2.22.401.4 "something is wrong or missing something-i dont like to go into recovery to see again but i think you know this issue ) Can you please tell me what to do guys i dont want to sell my htc m8 and i want to get the OTA's in the future without any problem. Btw my phone is bought from T-Mobile Macedonia, where i wondered is this t-mobile RUU for all countries T-Mobile devices or just US?
I will be very grateful for your answers dudes.
Thank you in advance.

Absolutely.
This is what they would do at the Sprint store if they have to reset your phone.
Nothing to be afraid of.
only if ur s-off can check if it says s-off or s-on in your bootloader
nah u shouldnt be worried bro
Are you rooted and what method did you use? What did you do last that started the issues? You could just try to reflash a OTA rooted version check the DEV forums for one .

Okay just read your thing lol your not rooted did you do any of the OTA updates? Might be causing your issues. Since your not rooted. If your having issues take it to sprint they will probably swap it out.

I am doing this the most ass-backwards way possible.
I do not have a USB-Micro USB cord. I am now transferring that large file via bluetooth to my Blackberry, where I switched the Micro CD Card out with my EVO. I also lost my Micro-SD adapter.
This whole ordeal has been one massive fail.
I'm about to pass out, but will update tomorrow.
Thanks!
Edit: Limited to 5 thanks per day? Well, until tomorrow, my verbal thanks will have to suffice gentlemen.

[Q] Rooted phone + OTA Three UK

Hey guys I just released today that my phone had the OTA update and i'm on Three in UK.
Anyhow I'm really wondering how I can update it with my rooted phone i'm pretty sure it will cause problems. What is the best way to update to the latest software with a rooted phone?
Do I have to unroot it?
Do I have to relock bootloader?
I'd like some clarification!!
Thanks a lot.
i just done the same on my three Uk version, i had to uninstall cwm install original recovery lock the boot back and download update and install,
priesl forpage
I swear you only had to relock the bootloader.
well i guess i done all this for nothing as i just come of the phone to three, i got the black version of htc one x, i found screen flickering so they going to send me the new one , well i thought ill go for the white one lets hope the new phone is ok

I asked in another thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25508923
Looks like you havn't got to relock bootloader, just unroot, flash stock recovery (if on a custom recovery) then update
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
I may be wrong but I though it still updated if on stock, you just lose root so you need to root it again afterwards. That's from past experience with Samsung phones, but thought it'd might be similar on other phones which is why I added my input.
Ota updates check system files before it reports if an update is available (does it not?), if it reports an update it must be fine IMO.

[Q] Return to COMPLETE Stock?

Ok so i need to send my inc 2 in for a refurb. I am currently running AOKP build 37 with aeroevans v9ics kernel and an unlocked BL. How do i return to complete stock unrooted?
i've seached all over the forum and can't find anything. It was easy with my droid x2 because you could just run the SBF with RSD Lite.
I also have the new software version 6.1 if thats any help.

It didnt say anything. It found the PG32IMG.zip file, ran it, and then returned to the bootloader screen. I tried running it again just in-case something weird happened, but same result.
also on a side note im s-on, the 6.1 OTA doesn't allow s-off at this time

I didn't think about that. That could be the issue then. No nandroid backup of your stock ROM right?
I'm thinking the best you can do is find a similar to stock ROM and install that. Most times the service techs don't look to hard at a device to see that it is running a custom ROM.

It is worth the trouble if...
A. You know what you are doing.
B. You read and research.
C. You know how to recover in the event something goes wrong.
Flashing isn't for everyone. Even if you follow directions things can still go wrong in rare situations. That's just the nature of flashing.
