I want to install the general version of the software which is posted on the huawei site on my T00.
It's for U06. So is the difference in hardware?

Hi,
I don't think it will work because the ROM posted on huawei official site is only for Ascend P6-U06 (international firmware) and yours is T00 (chinese firmware).
If you gonna do this anyway, I suggest you to make a backup of your phone !

Thanks for the reply.
I tried it and it failed during the VERLIST test.
The problem is in the 3G actually. I can't find modules to flash.
I am not rooted but i am willing to.

are you sure you have follow the instructions ?
make sure that the B118 version is match with your international version.. mine use B118 P6-U06 chinese version.. not P6-U00 !
and I can manage to get back to B111 international version without problem...

Yes my phone model is same as your's P6-u06
After flashing the B118 chineze verzion , downloaded from the link provided in instructions page . I've flashed it and it bricked maybe that happend because my phone was rooted who knows? gues i have to send it back to china

First of all, I am a complete noob when it comes to installing custom roms and firmware and stuff.
I want to install a custom ROM on my Huawei Ascend P6-U06 called HYD52ROM V5. In the instructions it says I need to be on B118CN. But as I can only find a download for the B118 I am a bit confused (and I ruined my last phone with doing this stuff). Has this something to do with it needing to be unlocked or something? Is there a guide somewhere on how to do this?
Help really appreciated!

B118 and B120 CN are Chinese firmwares. They unlock the phone and only through unlocked firmwares can you install custom firmwares.
There is also an international version of B118, but its not unlocked. The unlocked is only Chinese firmwares.
B118CN and B120 CN have a high risk of bricking phones and many users have bricked their phones out here on xda.
A Chinese kitkat beta firmware has been leaked recently, and this firmware is unlocked too. So upgrading to Kikat rom first and then custom rom is the safest way.

So can I just upgrade to the KitKat beta as I would upgrade to B118 (or any other firmware) or is this something different?

yes you can upgrade the same way you upgrade any other official firmware i.e. through settings>about>local update. While custom firmware are upgraded through TWRP recovery.

Okay so I have one last question, do I need to root my phone before I upgrade to the KitKat Beta. And do you have a link to the version I need to upgrade to? (I am on B112 right now if that matters). Thanks for all the help man!

No you don't need to root.

Also maybe its stabler to first go to B125 international (find the download file in index thread), and then after that go to kitkat beta.

u have P6-U6 and i have same phone and i use it in europa
so its not that what they told u
U can try flash other rom like B125 from local update and then report back!

hey. Thanks for your massage. I flashed the b125 on the phone. That works. But now i get a lot of errors (android.prozess.media)
I think that is what you said with the GApps? What do i have to do? Where can i find the right version for my p6?

where are you from?
most of the b510 release were in western europe and when i remember right in romania (maybe in the neighbor states too) through OTA (automatically through system update function..
the other option is to download the b510 from different sources mentioned in some threads here..
then you can, depending on what you downloaded, update through local update or by updating through force update method..
just read some threads concerning the update to b510 carefully and you'll find what you're looking for..

is your p6 rooted? coz me i only upgraded mine from b125 to b132 just to get b512 & b513 then eventually i tried the repack versions of those.. more better ! and saves more battery and better camera...

since ur p6 is rooted..
try to install custom recovery like CWM or TWRP .. but for me its more easy to use TWRP..there are easy steps to install twrp just read threads from surde petru Thanks to them...
then there you go! you can install any rom that you want ...
just check and be sure that the roms that ur going to install are stable and compatible version...
im using custom rom coz its more better than the official firmwares,
