DPI Change - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys! We N5 users have a good (still not bugfree, but good) Sense 6 Rom. I'm used to a not as big interface, that's why I changed my DPI to 420. The reason why I ask this here is because it's not a Rom bug but a Sense bug. When the DPI is too low the home screen locks strange. Please look at the attached screenshot. Is there a way to fix it?

The Dock looks strange because of the shadow and the right side of home screen is unusable.

Wow 320 is so small, I like 400.

Don't really have a choice as far as I know lol I personally prefer 360

I have changed my LCD density many times, and have never had this issue. What ROM and keyboard are you using?
Hey... This thing makes phone calls too!
I have the exact same problem. Swype does properly scale to the changed DPI, however, SwiftKey, Android Keyboard (the default one from AOSP ROMs), HTC_IME, 8pen, and especially Full Keyboard do not scale properly.

[Question] Wallpaper Distortion Help!

Hi, I currently have this image I would like to use as my wallpaper:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
However, when I set it as a wallpaper on my phone, I get something like this:
Does anyone know what I can use to set it nicely? Thanks!
Why dont you try a widescreen wallpaper like this one

By the way this probably should have been in Q&A
Even with a widescreen wallpaper, distortion issues appear...

I am guessing you are new to android. Android has scrollable wallpapers so if you use the right aspect ratio, it will not distort. Using portrait style wallpapers will automatically zoom in because the phone is trying to stretch it so when you scroll from screen to screen, it shows more of the picture. Get a high res widescreen wallpaper and it will look good.

any ideas? Thanks in advance
EDIT: I was always in the 180 area and non of them work. I think 170 is perfect because no app is in a tablet view and the notifications are lined up.

I dont have much for suggestions besides these- some resolutions do work better than others. I believe 200 and 160 DPI are nice. I'm currently on AOKP Milestone 5 with the tablet mod and my DPI set to 128 and everything is lined up correctly

When I was having issues at 180 another user suggested I use 185. Worked like a charm for me.

Big margin status bar 240 DPI

As the title says, the margins on the status bar are too big (picture left, picture right is stock sense stock DPI). Changing fonts doesn't do any good and they are set Medium.
The DPI 240 is whats causing it I guess, but I saw ppl with normal ( almost zero margins)
Does anyone know how to "fix" change this? Or a mod I could change this.
Also am on stock 2.17 deodexed.
BUMP
well I was able to make my status bar smaller, but that change does not stick on DPI change. Anyone any idea? If I should guess I would say it ignores the whole framework values all together as it gets black as well.
1. DPI 240
2. Normal
3. Height change on status bar

My guess from looking at the pictures is that you choose a different anchorpoint for the module that renders the menu icon. Probably center left while the rest is on center? If you want elements to stay together if the widget get resized you should use the same anchorpoint for all modules so something like this doesn't happen
I think the problem is the device resolution, because i created this in a 480x800 and i'm testing in a 1080x1920. Tried what you said and the problem continues.
