How can I install the ROMs in this forum (XPERIA ARC)

Can anyone tell me how yo install the ROMs in this forum?
I always download it and use xRecovery but it always doesn't work
Besides , I have Rooted and BL
Last , sorry for my bad grammar , I'm from Taiwan , and nice to meet you all .

For some custom roms you need to flash kernels via fastboot and for this you need unlocked bootloader.
if bootloader it's locked use Google and search there is official way to unlock but you will lose warranty and drm.

First flash any kernel you want instructions will be given from where you will download like doomkernel it has inbuit recovery. Reboot into recovery choose your rom
Wipe system,chache,dalvik chache install zip from sd card
Dont flash ics rom over gb kernel or gb rom over ics kernel or it will cause bootloop

but how can I flash the kernel in .img?
I only know hoe to flash the kernel by flashtool , it's simple to use

Considering you already have flashtool and your desired kernel follow this :
1) Plug in your phone in fastboot mode [S-Off, hold menu key and plug in to PC]
2) Place you .img on your desktop
3) Open up flashtool, select fastboot mode and select flash kernel and select it from the desktop
4) Once kernel is flashed un plug your device restart it open up CWM and flash desired ROM.

kernel is an .img file so flash it normally as you do flash kernels...

After flashing the kernel you often need to flash Wifi Modules in recovery

I did this also using flashtool, and im always getting error message saying that i have to root my phone when in fact its already rooted and i used doomlord's tool. SU is already on my phone homescreen. How does that possible? I followed all the instructions. Can you help guys.

You need to unlock your bootloader. Root is not needed at all.

Yes root is not required so tell what exact error you are getting and first confirm that you have adb drivers installed

you need unlock bl yours is not unlocked.....

I'd like to update my Xperia s with the stock ICS update, but PC companion tells me that my phone is already updated so I want to update it via flash tool and I don't know anything about it.... And my phone says (see the image) help me please what I must do to do it perfect and not get briked

You can use flashtool for flashing firmware on locked bootloader

Download the original .55 firmware

Extract and put the ftf file in the flashtool/firmware folder
In Flashtool click in the upper left ray and select flash mode.
Select the downloaded firmware and click ok.
Power off the phone and connect while press volume down
When finished reboot your phone

[Q] [QUESTION] Strangest thing happened on my Xperia S LT26i

So i used the method from DooMLord to root my LT26i.
In that method i had to flash my .96 kernel back to .211 root it and then flash it back to .96
But when i tried to flash it to .211 I rebooted my Xperia S i checked the build and it was still .96. The strange thing is that it told me about a new update. The .96 one, but I already have it so it mindf's me. It says that I can only install it through the PC. So i tried and it says that the Sony servers are down ATM. Does anybody know what's happening?
EDIT: The servers aren't down I can install the update but i still don't get the reason why it's telling me that there's an update for a build that I already have.

oh right
check if your drivers are installed
also check if you have a correct ftf installed
maybe updating flashtool may help
i had this issue with a older version of flashtool

Yes, i followed a tutorial on how to install my flashtool drivers, because it wasn't installing. Now that i installed them it still doesn't work. I have the correct ftf. I downloaded it from his post. And i have the latest flashtool(0.9.13.0). Any suggestions?

to root right
it only flashes the 211 or 200 kernel provided
it wont change your build number
your kernel version will change (if sony changed it between 200/211/96)

Wipe: Don't check data if you don't want to lose it, obviously.
And on the other side it says exclude so if you check all you don't flash anything:silly:
I would exclude TA.

If you want root and have doom kernel exclude kernel or flash doom kernel after with fastboot, exclude data or backup your apps with titanium

what happens if you don't exclude de TAs? for example in the guide with the docomo ftf there's nothing mentioned about exclude TAs

No it's not a problem there. But I was flashing random firmwares I would generally exclude ta files.

I want detailed steps of installing cwm
Coz i hv googled loads of forum bt i'm very confused aftr seeing dem i want any1 of u to share xct method of installing cwm

1) Unlock your bootloader, Google 'Sony unlock bootloader' for this.
2) Install a custom kernel with CWM built in, you will need flashtool for that.
That is the only way you can install CWM, it is not available for locked bootloaders.
