[Q] Guidance please re: updating and root - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

Hi everyone
just had me note 10.1 2014 for a month now and loving it , nothing has changed the only thing i have done is root the device, so upon going to samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SM-P600 i found that 4.4 is out, for region COO - can anyone tell me what region COO is?
but my main question is how do i upgrade / update from my current version 4.3 to 4.4 ? because when i try to do ota, it says my device has been modified.
I rooted my device using CF-Auto Root and using SuperSU
If anyone can kindly point me to a thread, blog or tell me how it is done would really appreciate it.

[Q] how to rollback to official firmware.

Hello,
I am currently using Darkeys Extreme edition v10.0 based on Android 2.3.
I want to rollback my phone to its latest official Android 2.3 firmware.
Please help.
Please give the detailed procedure how to install official Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) firmware in SGS for Indian users.
Thanks in advance.
I think you need to download the DDJV6 (2.3.3) firmware from samfirmware.com and flash it according to the instructions given on the site.
This should bring you back on official firmware and KIES should work normally.
You can use SpoofFw. Very easy to use. Just follow the steps in the application. Search for it in the market.
thanks for your help, the SpoofFw app requires ROOT and I am unable to find the authentic solution to root my SGS.
Updated version information of Samsung Galaxy S Gingerbread update in India:
PDA Version: JV6
Phone Version: JV4
CSC Version: JV6(INU)
Currently I am using the different CSC Version, everything works fine with it but I am desperately looking for CSC Version: JV6(INU) only.
DDJV6 (2.3.3) firmware from samfirmware.com doesn't helped me to get the JV6(INU)
Please help.
This has nothing to do with Development learn to post in the right sections before flashing custom rom and kernels tbh.
Please move this thread to Q&A

You say your on Darky rom, that's means you are already rooted.
Use spooffw as already told.
After help from vortexmak , I have downloaded DDJV6 (2.3.3) firmware from samfirmware.com. After installation DDJV6 (2.3.3) from ODIN my phone comes to normal and now I am running official firmware on my phone. And phone is un-rooted now!
For SGS Gingerbread rooting, I searched for the same but no luck!
However, the main problem is, the firmware I am currently using is different CSC version and I am looking for CSC Version: JV6 (INU) which is not available on samfirmware.com.
samfirmware has the JV6 csc version available. Did you download the same ??
Yes Kailashnj, I have downloaded the same version but I am not sure does Kies will detect it as Indian Version of SGS.
use some brain and post in the correct section , that s the best method !

If you cant help him out don't respond to it. If you use your brain at least point him to the right section.
@op
I have no idea. I am sorry i cant help you
The csc you have right now, is it multi csc?if it is, you can try a simple trick: type *#272*yourimei# and select INU(if it's there). I do this every time with ORO.i select it from multi csc.don't know the asian firmwares very much, but i gave you the general solution. It should work.
Sent from my GT-I9000 powered by Damian kernel on JVP rom
You Rock kimitza.
The trick Works!

Yeah...kill the man for not reading the forum. True...i hate lazy people who don't read some FAQ's and don't bother to write on right sections....but your reaction is just lame for trying to be a smartass.Maybe an answer would be apreciated more than starting a flame war, don't you think?
@Napster_doom, glad i could help you, but next time please read and post in the right section. If you have more questions about galaxy, just send me a PM and i will answer.Good luck.

[Q] Rooting GT-I9000 on Gingerbread 2.3.3

Hi Android folks,
I am planing to Root my SGS GT-I9000 , Kernel version 2.6.35.7, GINGERBREAD.JPJV6, Baseband ver. I9000JXJV6.
I have read many posts on this forum, but some of them warns that the way the mention is not compatible with all phones, but the one they choose to root.
also they provide tars file for that specific device. so I want to ask for the rooting method for my mobile, especially that i try to root it with the one click rooting application written by a developer within this forum, but he state that his application does not support gingerbread.
Thanks in advance....

Galaxy S4 Clone CWM

Hello everyone!
This is my first post on this forum so I hope I'm on right section. I apologize if I'm on incorrect forum. I have Samsung Galaxy S4 Clone MT6517 with android 4.1.1 and I want to upgrade it to newer version. I have already downloaded new custom firmware version 4.3. I rooted my phone but I can't access my recovery menu. I tried to modify it to CWM with MTK ToolBox but I think I didn't use correct version so I can't even now boot to recovery menu. I was looking for other menus but I couldn't find any. I hope someone can help me with this. Sorry for my bad english. Greetings!
Anyone?

[Q] Which is a STOCK ROM 4.4.2 KitKat on AT&T Note 2 with ROOT?

I got a note2 that is unlocked from a simple mobile store here in Miami
I use StraightTalk GSM 4G LTE sim in it
It upgraded itself to 4.4.2 KitKat and all I want to do is get a root on it, get rid of the AT&T Bloatware
or FREEZE it with my Titanium Backup from the PLAY store
All these weird screwy names of this rom and that rom.....
why can't anyone just put a name of a SIMPLE STOCK rom with root up? Maybe a recovery tool too but just simple stuff
some of us can not spend days loading and unbricking our phones....
I do APPRECIATE all the dev's working on different things BUT it is so convoluted in naming structure that it's impossible to find a single, stock rooted room...thanks
phil
You can just use auto root to root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1980644

First Time Rooting my TAB SM-T705

Good afternoon Dear Xda Members:
It is my first time in this kind of forums so excuse me if I ask something wrong; I considered myself in these matters as "a rookie"
I will try to explain my case:
Months ago I updated the firmware of the TAB to T705XXU1CPI4 (Android 6.0.1) automaticatly via official android release (OTA).
My problem is when I try to root my TAB with the app KingRoot it not worked; I read rooting is not possible if the firmware was updated as I mentioned before.
Some online recomendations say that I must update my TAB again with the same firmware, but I fear that I can damage my Tab If I re-install again the same firmeware through ODIN 3.
Could you please tell my if is correct to follow these way to continue rooting my Tab ?
I really would apreciate your kind help
Regards
