Desire 816W questions - Desire 816 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
I'd like to buy a new phone which should have those specs : screen size between 5.5" and 6", 3G compatibility with 2100/900 MhZ, dual sim
The desire 816w fits my needs but I don't find any information.
I've seen some chinese shops where I could buy it but it comes then with a chinese/english rom.
Is there a way to put another language (french) ?
I'm also thinking of Huawei honor 3x
What do you think ?
Thank you

The Sony equivalent would be the T2 Ultra which is excellent but you have to check if your bands are supported. Android usually has support for multiple languages so you should be able to change it

I have Desire 816w. Yes you can use French language and I seen French language is there and definitely English also. When you 1st time open the device it will run with China kind of language (I am not sure it could be China, Taiwan, Japan etc.). You can easily change the language from setting menu.

There is an international version 816 without the 'w'. That's the one I bought. It has French in general language and in keynotes input. It is a really nice device. Looks fabulous in real life, videos and pics didn't show its real beauty!

The O2 XDA Atom? Is it HTC Model?

Does anyone know the O2 xda Atom will be lunached in Germany or not? Is it HTC Model? I heard Asia already lunached, I like the model very much! If not HTC, then which manufacturer?
It's not an HTC device. If you do a search you should find out who makes it.

I am sure it will be released in germany as most handsets released in Asia are soo launched there as well. Its made by rival taiwanese manufacturers Quanta.
Was reading on one of the singaporean forums that someone compared the compact II with it and although it had an xscale processor, they thought the performance wasnt as good as the compact II.

Language change

Hi All,
Should I decide to buy a One X, I am considering ordering it from france through a friend, as most units sold here are without warranty, and the ones that come with warranty are usually overpriced.
I did the same for my current HTC Touch HD, but I got stuck with french ROM, couldn't install official english rom as the support site required my phone's serial and provided the rom accordingly.
If I get the one x from france, will i be able to change my phone language without spoiling warranty with custom roms?
I bought mine from France and i'm using it with english you get to choose the language when you first set up the phone.
gr8 news thx
In Android you have almost every language, so you shouldn't care about that

HTC unlock turkey

Hi i have a german HTC Desire hd, which I want to give my cousin in turkey but they have to unlock the phone so they can use Turkish SIM cards. My phone is rooted do they still have to unlock the phone so they can use Turkish SIM cards ?

I don't think you'll need to modify anything, as the network standards are similar in both countries, as far as I know. But there is a way bigger problem: If you import a mobile into Turkey and activate a Turkish SIM card on this device, the telecommunications authority will bar your device from connecting to the Turkish network until you have paid a certain sum to the authority (in order to prevent tax fraud, I guess). I don't think that you can manipulate the remote recognition of the phone's origin by changing anything on your rooted device.
Hope that helped!

[Q] Differences between single and dual SIM ?

Hi everyone !
I'm planning to sell my good "old" One Max and buy a M8 dual SIM in Germany (m8_dugl ?) instead.
But before that I was wondering if the ROMs/kernels/bootloaders/etc. avaiable in the "Android dvlp" and "Original Android dvlp" forums will be compatible with it ?
I know that the procedure to root it may be slightly different but I haven't read anything about M8 dual sim (in)compatibilty yet.
Since there are differences between Vzw/Sprint/AT&T/T-Mobile/rest of the world versions, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the case.
Thanks !

(When) can we expect a dual sim version?

I currently have an HTC One M8 Dual Sim and would love to upgrade for the HTC 10, I haven't seen anything about a dual sim version. Any info on this?
Thanks
I bump the question as I'm definately interested in one...
Me 2. I would buy this 100% sure, if i can get it with dual sim

Same here. I have the HTC One ME, which is a M9 varient with dual sim. Hoping a dual sim model comes out with the 820 chip. HTC seems to generally give dual sim models with the less powerful CPU. I don't know why they don't make dual sim a standard feature with their premium flagship models.
I need one as I have a data sim. Currently using Huawei mate 8.. I sold my nexus 6p cuz it wasn't a dual.. Hoping for a m10 plus version with 820sd and dual sim. If not there are always those other ****ty brands who would keep my addiction going.

Apparently, Htc should release a dual sim version later on, although this feature might only be available in a few countries. (according to several android websites).
Let's hope for the best!
any news about this dualsim??
Yes, please! I will take two..! ??
Sent from quite brutal hTc 10 ..
The only reasonably usable information I found under bludiode.eu "10-dual-sim-32gb-lte-grey"
I also would like to see a htc 10 dual sim.
I emailed HTC hong kong and this was their reply

Given that both Sony xperia Z5 & samsung S7 have already got dual sims out in the market im not sure why HTC havn't already released one. I would buy one.
Honestly I don't think there will ever be one.
Why there isn't one already is a mystery. I would buy it in a heartbeat

means they've politely said it won't be happening with htc 10.
i never could get with the idea of dual sim probably its an excuse for me to use two different device independently and more flashing
I would really like to get it if its a Dual sim. The samsung S7 apparently you can either use 2 dual sims or 1 sim and a SD card which is pointless. Where as htc m8 use all three.
Looks like Sony xperia X5/X5 Premium. unless anyone else has any other suggestions.
Apparently now HTC are planning to releaser a Desire 10 (htc 10 cheaper sibling) at the end of september. These tend to come in dual sim variants. Suppose it might be a better alternative compared to the m8 dual sim i currently have. You never know they may just release a dual sim for the 10 around that time. These guys need to get as many sales as they can for this flagship. Its like a sinking ship at the moment. I went into the phone showrooms and none of them had any display working models for the htc 10. So seems htc arent really spending on advertising or people just dont like the phone
They really need to release this model
Yesterday I saw HTC 10 Dual sim
64gb but unfortunately 3gb Ram.
I found this one today. Is it a cheaper version called Desire 10?
In the past I tried a Desire 8, I think, LCD screen resolution was awful and I did not have access to all HTC sofware features like professional email or some apps on the marketplace!!!! I thought the cheap version had only cheap hardware but it was very bad experience. I returned it and bought the HTC M8 dual sim.

is it good to upgrade to this one? or is it cheaper version of HTC 10

4GB of RAM, 64GB storage, and SD card supports up to 2TB expandable memory
I will also like to go back to htc (I had an htc one M8 CDMA/GSM earlier) but with R Jio I need a dual SIM.
