You need to use the push command to send the file over.

I like using bitTorrent sync to transfer files between my devices to the fire Tv like loading Rom...

HELP!! I Have a Kindle Fire with twrp v2.0.0 trying to get working again!

I am new to site and recently acquired a Kindle fire that has been rooted and had android I believe 4.1 installed and I was in the settings and was adjusting the grid size for the home screen and it just bugged out now I am stuck at the TWRP v2.0.0 screen with the 8 options!
I have read [GUIDE] Kindle Fire For Beginners and am still lost on what to do, and feel like :silly: !! I have your basic knowledge of computers and with a little help can normally accomplish what I'm looking to do!
So now is where I ask for help with my situation and would be very happy and thankful for it!
I am looking to get back to the way it was when I bought it and if it means starting from scratch by completely flashing the kindle back to out of the box and going from there so if this does happen again I know what to do on my own and don't have to feel that I am being a pain to anyone!
Thank you for reading and hope to hear from anyone soon! A HUGE THANKS in advance for any help and info you may give!
Restoring to stock for the purpose of going through the process of modifying it again is pointless and can cause bigger problems if you don't know how to deal with it. Instead, try to reinstall your ROM.
Before you do that, what exactly are you looking to get out of your KF?

When I bought it it was running like a regular android tablet which is want I want it back to I believe it was android 4.1 or a newer version is fine I bought it for my daughter and just want to get it back to what it was before she comes back over! If I don't have to start from scratch that's perfectly fine with me!

Can you mount the device?

Bear with me as some stuff you might ask I might not understand at the moment this is new to me so by mount do you mean connect it to my computer?
Ichigo said:
Plug it in via usb. Then, in TWRP, go to mount and mount it. Then you should be able to access the storage(it's sdcard).

OK...what do I do from there I'll test it out after the next post so I can at least do a few things instead of 1 step at a time! thanks again for helping! :good:

You want to go back to stock?
You'll have to download this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1439916
Then put it on your sdcard.
Then wipe your system, data, cache, and dalvik cache.
Then flash the ROM you put on your sdcard.
Then reboot.

I'd prefer to install the latest version of android OS not the kindle version...and not to be a pain can you be a little more detailed please!

Do I download both of them?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Ok I'm downloading the cm10.1 and also the Google apps for cm10.1
I think I understand most of it...when I copy the files over do I need to put them in a folder or right to the sdcard
there's 5 things under the mount button 2 are selected
I just want to make sure everything goes right the first time so I don't got to be a pain to anyone else over this lol
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
And also where is the data button at so I can wipe that also? I found the other 3 and wiped them

All you need to mount is the sdcard and place the files directly on the discard, or remember where you put them.
Sent from my KFJWI using Tapatalk 2
Okay once I do that I un mount and then what... I am honestly sorry if I'm being a pain
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Says cannot bload volume /misc! And three buttons came up on bottom?
Should I unzip the files before copying to sd?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
The Kindle Fire doesn't have a /misc directory so you will always see that error. Disregard it.
I clicked on the cm10 file and then hit flash

Well, do you want a custom ROM, or do you want 100% unrooted stock without custom recovery or 2nd bootloader, because those are your two options.
I can't find a stock ROM compatible with twrp, just side load cm onto it and install it again, or use kffa to restore stock amazon os. I think restoring stock will get rid of twrp though just a heads up.

There are no stock KF ROMs for the KF2, there are only CM, PA or AOSP based ROMs. Flashing the stock update from Amazon will get rid of everything, including root, TWRP, and the 2nd bootloader.
So what would you rather have?
I want to go back to stock plz I tried flashing a bin 10.2.6 and renamed it as a zip but I get a error but I still have twrp and side loading but yes I want to go back to stock plz I have no os btw

Download the Kindle Fire 2 software update from Amazon
Rename it from update-blah-blah.bin to update-blah-blah.zip
Push it to your device
Factory reset!!!
Flash in recovery and reboot.
So download update file from Amazon and rename it as a zip OK good I'll try that but will I get a red screen btw that's why I want 10.2.6 so it will update and won't get red screen
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda app-developers app
Red screen is completely avoidable on an os higher than that, u just have to downgrade the bootloader first.
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire HD running CM10.1 Tablet UI using xda-developers app
OK im gona try it in a bit so if I flashed that I won't get red screen because Installed twrp before that red screen update 10.4.6 or something like that. But I do have 10.2.6 bin file now gonna push it now

The update will replace the bootloader, recovery boot and system partitions with pure stock, so there's little chance of bricking...unless you forget to factory reset.
So factory rest now and then flash OK btw what will happiness if I don't do a factory reset and should I wipe cashe and davlick cashe and system

[Q] Drivers not installing

I have searched for days without luck.
I noobishly formatted my Kindle fire 2nd Gen while trying to install a new Rom. Now I have access to TWRP but there is no data on the device when I plug into my pc the drivers fail to install. I tried to uninstall and install kindle adb drivers but I am still getting the caution triangle in device manager. Help.
Try using the drivers in my signature.
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire HD running CM10.1 Tablet UI using xda-developers app
Your suggestions didn't work.
Sent from my GT-P5113 using xda app-developers app
Are you on windows 8? And when you goto the devices properties with the triangle, does it say it doesn't have the drivers installed or a different error message?
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire HD running CM10.1 Tablet UI using xda-developers app
I'm on Windows 7 the message says no drivers installed. I installed Android sdk and tried sideload but the message said can't read sideload
Sent from my GT-P5113 using xda app-developers app
I think everything was wiped I still get the original Kindle bootloader image on start up and a second image that gives me the recovery mode option. I get into TWRP but no files are there to do anything. Then when I plug the device into my pc it's not recognized. I see Kindle in my devices but when I try to open as a usb device the drive is greyed out.
Sent from my GT-P5113 using xda app-developers app
What happens when you try to use the drivers in my signature, does the driver fail when you try to install it or what?
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire HD running CM10.1 Tablet UI using xda-developers app
There is no install.exe in your files I don't know how to install it.
Sent from my GT-P5113 using xda app-developers app
i had this problem some time ago....
go to your device manager and select the kindle fire and deinstall the drivers from there than the right drivers should be automaticly install
I did that many times but windows failed to install the drivers
Sent from my GT-P5113 using xda app-developers app
In the device manager, right click the device with the triangle, hit update drivers, choose the option that let's you search a directory, and point it to where you extracted my drivers, then let it install.
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire HD running CM10.1 Tablet UI using xda-developers app
I tried that. The message I got was "windows could not find driver software for your device"
Sent from my GT-P5113 using xda app-developers app
OK in that case open the device manager, right click the device with a triangle, hit properties, and goto the details tab, then choose hardware id's from the drop down list, and post them here.

Thanks I got the drivers installed I tried to sideload but it gave a message saying cannot read sideload.

I used add push to push the rom and gapps thanks a million
Sent from my GT-P5113 using xda app-developers app
Ah OK good to hear, for future reference though to use side load u have to turn side load mode on in twrp.
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire HD running CM10.1 Tablet UI using xda-developers app
I did, I went into advance and turned it on.
Sent from my GT-P5113 using xda app-developers app
Ah OK never mind then, thought maybe that was the error for not turning it on.
