what browser - T-Mobile HTC One (M8)

What browser do y'all use with your shiny m8? I disabled the stock one and am using chrome. But I wonder.....what if there are better
Also given the lack of ROM development what ROM are y'all on?
I'm unrooted stock sense but 99% sure I'm going to go with a gpe conversion.

I've tried plenty of browsers but I end up coming back to chrome in the end.
At the moment I'm running ViperRom and elementx kernel.

The new Javelin browser is amazing and worth taking a look at. I am very satisfied with it!

Another vote for stock chrome. Syncing your bookmarks across all devices is just too nice.

+1 for stock Chrome.
I've been a Dolphin user since it was first developed, but Chrome just runs so well on this device that there's no way I'm going back to Dolphin now.

Chrome app is flickering

From Chrome support faq...
Chrome for Android Beta known issues
Pages are blank, distorted, or flickering on my HTC One V, HTC One X, HTC Amaze 4G, HTC Sensation XL, and Huawei MediaPad.
This is a known issue with the graphics driver on specific devices. We have reported this issue to hardware manufacturers and software vendors and are working to fix it. As a workaround, try rotating your device or refreshing the page to resolve temporary rendering issues.
Yup happens all the time on my device. I love chrome but had to install it because of this very issue.
Damn thing kept jumping about the whole page...
First come smiles. Then come lies. Last is gunfire.
Is this issue only with Chrome or is it with the default android browser too? I'm looking at picking up the HTC One V but if it has a flickering problem with the default browser and chrome I'll look elsewhere. Can someone with a One V give me an answer. Thanks.
No only the Chrome, none of the other apps have that problem.

Thank you for the help! Looks like I'll be picking up the phone and using the default browser then.
To be honest even with flickering its still the best option for browser.

I disagree to be honest, ICS Browser+ is the best option for the HTC One V when running the stock ROM. The flickering makes Chrome unusable.

I havent heard about that one.Looks good at the moment.
problems resolved?
It seems to me that the latest OTA updates to the One V have eliminated the flickering with the latest version of Chrome. Can anyone corroborate?
I can't find any flickering on my one v but on cm10 it flickers....

I've had this issue on the stock software and now on CM10 on my PrimoC

I am thinking that the new update (2.22 for me, 2.24 or 2.19 for others) may have a new graphics driver that resolves the rendering issues in chrome.
Chrome / Opera / Default Browser
Hello everyone.
Im using HTC One V. (4.0.3) Software Number 1.56.720.2.
I too have been facing the flickering issue on Chrome & Opera (uninstalled them).
Recently once i faced this issue on the default browser on ICS.
Honestly somestimes i feel that ICS is kinda heavy on One V.

Carrier: Idea

The same problem - HTC One, only in Chrome app - only when I see the review of all open cards.
chrome is not for 512 ram devices.in shpongle rom, chrome does not work properly.

Anyone experiment no pin to zoom on Dolphin HD?

I could not get it to work but double tab on screen. Anyone has this issue?
I can't get it to either.. Too bad we can't use AOSP browser..
Yup same thing here, used Opera instead.
Same. Chrome sucks and the aosp browser isn't in the stock rom. I don't care about flash but chrome just is a complete mess.

New update fixes it, but turns off Flash. Update with caution.

Boat Browser

Hi guys im trying to get boat browser and flash player working on my ouya but no luck am i doing something wrong or is this not possible yet. thanks
I use dolphin browser hd, and opera. Dolphin is very similar to boat. I have that working no fuss, and installed flash from xda and both work fantastically, sideloaded both before I rooted. So you don't have to root. But you should lol.

What browser do you use?

I am not trying to start a "what is the best browser" war here.
I am using chrome right now but, today I noticed it is seriously draining my battery. I am going turn sync off on it hoping that helps but, I doubt that will do a whole lot.
I would like to know what everyone is using and if it drains the battery a lot or not.

I've always used stock, seems to have most features I need and it seems much faster than the others most of the time, especially when compared to chrome. Chrome's always seemed really slow for me at least. Stock doesn't seem to kill the battery much either.

I go between Chrome and Dolphin
I tend to stick with Chrome. Have used the stock browser or Firefox when Chrome doesn't display something quite right in mobile or desktop mode.
Have always used Opera, never any problems. Use Lightning sometimes but still like Opera best.

Which opera are you using on the one? I have had sizing issues with mini and mobile.

I used Chrome a lot on my old phone and my tablet but I really like the stock browser on this phone. It's what I've been using.

Also using stock browser. Found Chrome was lagging too much while scrolling.
I've been using Next for a while now. Really fast.

I use Chrome on both my phone and laptop. I love the syncing between them. Actually using Chrome Beta on the One.
Always been a stock guys myself.
Put me down for Chrome. Love the syncing from desktop to mobile.

I generally use the stock browser, but occasionally use Chrome. The stock browser seems to have the best luck with displaying pages correctly.
everytime I try chrome, I'm reminded why I don't use it on android. Much slower loading of most web pages, web pages load weird, etc. As long as a stock browser can pull my chrome desktop bookmarks, that is what I use. Not to mention the stock browser has incognito mode.
Yeah been trying out Firefox and the stock browser lately. I like both of them more than chrome. They seem faster. Not sure how I like Firefox's tab thing though.

Sense Internet App

Does anyone know why the Sense Internet app was left off our phones in favor of Chrome? Are the other carrier variants the same?
I always liked the Sense app. I installed it from the Play store and am happy again.

as terrible as chrome is as a browser.....the newest sense browser is supposed worse by review. i use firefox.
I'm sure Verizon is to blame. They are the reason powersaver is hidden from us as well

You can download the sense internet app from the play store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.htc.sense.browser

Please see the OP, I did install it.
I'm curious why either Verizon insisted the Chrome be the default, or possibly HTC would drop their app from their newest flagship.
I'm not in agreement that Chrome has been a better browser in general.
