4.4.2 no lens flare lockscreen - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

I was just wondering if I'm mistaken or not, but didn't 4.3 jellybean on note 3 have the lens flare lockscreen already built in? Did they remove it in kit kat?
Sent from my SM-N900T using xda app-developers app

I don't think I ever saw it. you mean ripple? Light flare was s4s originally
Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk

I think the lens flair is only on the S4

It's also on note 2 when it got the 4.3 update I think
Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk

If you check out on YouTube one of the early reviews for the note 3 you can even see it there...lol I was thinking the same thing I was pretty confused but I can distinctly remember the light flare/lens flare effect being used if you set a live wallpaper to both lock screen and home screen
Let me give link for video :[]

You'd probably be able to find something similar on the Play Store wouldn't you? You aren't using a password right?

I haven't seen it in KK version.

I I think they took it out for some reason. Maybe they wanted it to be phone specific ? Ie: lens flare s4, watercolor note 3, posing colors s5, etc

In the system folder media there is the sound effect for it though. What a bummer they took that out. I can't stand ripple and water cooler. Flare looks really cool

Looks Beautiful. Even though it's kind of basic when it comes to customization, it looks great.

You can accomplish this UI with the current apps on the playstore... Desktop Visualizer, Widget Locker, Multi Live Wallpaper and a little Gimp/Photoshop to make the wallpaper and some time... boom you have a very basic UI I think sharp isn't going to go anywhere with this.

I don't get why they put icons inside of squares. Its like putting an icon inside an icon which leaves you with a 3 column app tray. Think about all the scrolling you'd have to do.
The lock screen is cool and I'm sure the app store will have something similar soon enough.

Lock screen does look awesome.

its similar, use multi-live-wallpaper and set crop to "Fit to screen" (this is my version of it) if anyone wants it. I personally do not like this UI but I thought i would take a step toward what some ppl want. Ill make the icons 2mrw if you guys want em. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ffkbkwgxqvm681a/FEELUI.rar Enjoy!

this is more than just a home screen transition.
nothing out there (that i have seen at least) gives you vertical scrolling on the home screen as well as horizontal scrolling.
also, the lock screen is more than just a widgetlocker theme. the clock wont be on the bottom, and it wont scroll, the lock screen wallpaper wont scroll, you cant slide the lock icon up, and get the options, you dont get the nicer looking missed call/mail/sms pop ups.
this goes MUCH further than just some skin.
I just read an article about this from The Verge and i'm intrigued. The developers created Next interface and seem to be onto something. They feel the desktop is an unnecessary step to get to the app tray. Fair point, why have a bunch of apps then hit a button to get to your other apps? In the quest to be pc-like, Android has a desktop and widgets. Great, but I do see the point being made here. Oh, and notifications were redesigned.

A full port would be amazing. It would become my daily for sure, it's so creative and the design and fonts and everything is so beautiful. I love clean looks.
Would love a port...but its not gonna be out for a while...considering Feel UX phones arent even out yet in Japan.

Very impressed with the slick lockscreen, but not so impressed with the basic UI otherwise. Although I couldn't understand what he was saying, adding lines in between rows of icons is not a feature.

I think they where aiming at more user friendlyness hahha. As if android isnt userfriendly enough hahaha

[Q] How to fix yellow tint ?

My Note II's screen has a yellow tint. Whites are not pure white, but kind of yellowish-orange. :crying:
The thing is though if I tilt my device either way, I can see pure white.
The screen colors are way better on my old Galaxy S2 w/ SAmoled+, and I can further tweak the colors by using a custom kernel with screen tuning support.
Is there anything similar for the Note II ?
Not yet, but you Could try "Filter your screen" App from play store.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Thanks, but none of these apps are good because they simply add a filter on top and also affect blacks.
Guess I'll just wait for custom kernel color tuning support

Is there still no kernel and/or app that can change color profile of the Note II?
The kernel from this thread can do it, here's a link to my post explaining how:

Request: modded ripple unlock

Is it possible to get a modded ripple unlock without the haze on the left side of the screen? Now that I've noticed it, it ruins it for me. I know it's a tiny and easily resolved issue, but I figured it should be an easy fix.
Thanks!

I would also love this. That shine on the left is hideous.

Not to jack this thread but since we're talking about ripple mods, I would like to request someone to port this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2045436
He also seems to have the fading fixed as well. I tried all different ways to get this to work but I wind up in a bootloop.

*Bump* Anyone looking into this?
MacksROM allstar 3.0 includes this mod, have to ask in his thread if he could make a separate zip.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda premium
He's got the finger ink unlock but I don't think he got around to adding more colors to the ink like dark red or black. Also, the OP wanted to get rid of the way your lock screen turns to a faded grey on the left side when you choose a dark/black wallpaper with the ripple effect in place. The link I posted from the AT&T forum, they have both.
I posted a request in Macks AllStar ROM thread but got no response, he just released an update so I'm sure he's been a little busy. Hopefully this sweet little mod will come around soon..be pretty sweet little addition.

Lockscreen Flare effect

Anyone saw the new Samsung s4 lockscreen glare / light flare effect. Any idea how we could bring it to Nexus 4?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niv772BXPTg
That looks pretty sick. Samsung must've modified the hell out of the lockscreen. Wouldn't be surprised if it only works with Samsung's framework.

I think would be cool if it was like a lens flare that moves when you swipe.
PS:look at that screen on delay ! That is why im off with bloated crap.

LOL +1 to the ridiculous time it takes to power the screen on...my phone would be smashed the first day of use LOL
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
As far as I'm concerned it uses the sensor on the screen technology too, it detects when you finger is closed to the screen so it might no be as Samsung but close if they can port it, the one I actually like is the one for the LG phones looks really good, when you touch the screen it actually gives you a peak to wtv app is open or home screen =)

That screen turn on delay is huge! When was the video taken? Was the S4 still a prototype when the video was shot?
Not it was released apparently it been fixed with the new update tho
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Honestly I don't think I can ever move on from the tube tv animation being that it was THE coolest thing ever back in the 2.2-2.3 days.
But in the spirit of xda I hope someone ports it
Since the S4 comes with 4.2.2 it might be possible to port the lockscreen and maybe the rom TW rom

No lockscreen shortcuts or widgets?

Anyone else surprised by this? I'm okay with no widgets, but not having the shortcuts on the lockscreen is very disappointing.

I this a touch wiz or verizon change ?
touchwiz hadn't had lock screen widget since the new s5 version came out. the tab series doesn't even have them either. I have a feeling they're dunzo especially since lolipop got rid of lockscreen widgets anyway.

Widgets are there, they moved them away from the tabbed format. They went backwards a hit. Do a long press on the screen and they will come up.
Bill
no he means on the lock screen.

Yeah last galaxy device I had was the S4. I didn't know lollipop got rid of them. I can do without the widgets, I just miss the shortcuts. I loved putting a a google voice search shortcut on the lock screen for when I'm driving.
