How to completely change the country of the phone - Galaxy S 4 Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I recently bought the galaxy s4 mini in Germany, and I would like to completely make it spanish (I am spanish and I live in Spain).
I thought installing an spanish (PHE) official stock rom from here (http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I9195) would be enough, but I am still getting the "this app is not available in your country" message when I try to install some spanish apps from google play.
Does any one know where else google keeps track of the nationality of the phone?
In case I cant change the country of the phone... is there any way to install apps from other countries like we used to do before with market enabler? I heard this is not working anymore...
Thanks!

It seems like I have to change the google wallet configuration! thanks!

[Q]what rom for buying from android market from greece?

hello everyone
well i was in a greek forum and they tell that with the original rom you cant buy fom android market...i dont know if the ver 2.2 fix's the problem, but there is a way that i can buy from android market with greek desire?or should i ask them first and then come here to ask?
With any ROM (as far as I know) you can buy from the market. The market works or doesn't depending on the country you're from by checking for your mobile operator.
But still, there is a cure even for this and it's called MarketEnabler or MarketAccess.

Cant change to UK locale on 2.3 HTC Rom.

I have run the HTC development ruu on my unbranded desire and I can't change the locale to UK. It shows on date and time that I am in the correct time zone but under languages and keyboard its still set to English US. Is there any way of changing this?
Now that you mention it I remember that before installing the Scandinavian keyboard and the Swedish dictionary from the market, the default keyboard AND dictionary was US English.
I didn´t pay too much attention because there are no Scandinavian keyboards in the earlier versions and so I always install this from market. The difference is that in Froyo there was at least a Swedish dictionary, even if it was a bit rudimentary.
Perhaps this is one of the things cut down to save space. There must be some keyboards and dictionaries you can install from the market I suppose.
The problem that i have is weird, i am set to UK time and location but for some reason as the language is set too US English i cant access the UK Android Market or the UK Amazon MP3 market. I would have thought that as my location was set to UK i would get UK based stores/apps?
Does anyone know how i would go about changing it to UK?
Any help is much appreciated.

Hi - hope you're still getting notifications of this, but can you confirm that sorted out your issues with the UK Android Market? I've just done pretty much the same thing with the Gingerbread update and noticed it didn't have English (United Kingdom) so Play Store is saying some apps can't be installed in my country, when they were installed fine before flashing.
Thanks
John

[Q] google navigation not using preferred text-to-voice language

My text-to-voice language is set to UK english and I have also enabled the 'force programs to use this choice' option yet the navigation app still uses the american english voice.
Anyone else seeing this on the desire?
Maybe the uk choice is not installed?
Swyped from Oxygen with Transparent XDA App
Both UK and US English packs seem to be installed and are available as language selections. The 'listen to an example option' indeed correctly uses the UK english voice, but google navigation refuses to honour that choice... Does anyone know where maps stores its language choice as it seems to ignore the 'voice input and output' settings?
(this is on close-to-stock gingerbread ROM with maps v5.8.0)
I had the same problem - it's annoying having a robot tell you what to do, even worse to have an American robot bossing you around.
After a lot of tinkering, the problem seems to be that Navigation gets confused if your global language and your text-to-speech language aren't the same. So you need to change your global language to English (UK) in Menu / Language and Keyboard / Select Language. The trouble is, the stripped down Gingerbread for HTC Desire doesn't have English (UK) as an option - only English (US). So you also need to run a little app called "Any Locale, a switching widget" (by leohoo) available free on the market, to let you select English (UK).
Once you have selected English (UK) as your global language, you can actually delete the "Any Locale" app to save storage space.
And ta-da! Annoying English robot is back.
Thanks, it does look like a Google Maps bug, but this works....
UK language
@ SolentUK
THANKS a bunch for that app info! Finally got rid of that American [email protected]%.
It's ok. I can say that. I'm American.
I love the British accent. It sounds just like Ferb from Phineas and Ferb.
Yeah, I like to watch cartoons.... still.
Speech in Navigation is stuck
OKay. Here's the scenario.
Got tired of U.S. female robot very quickly.
Selected English UK whch sounds like Ferb from Phineas and Ferb, if you watch Disney...
Had to use Any Locale to switch to the English UK
Work for a few days, then intermittently went back to U.S. Female robot.
Downloaded SVOX and the voice Oliver UK. He worked for weeks.
All of a sudden now, when I start Navigation(Google) the only things Oliver says is "50 feet". Tthen in about 20 seconds or so, he repeats "50 feet. 50 feet."
Reset all of the language inputs and even tried using different languages. Still Oliver comes on and says "50 feet."
Uninstalled SVOX and Oliver. rebooted phone, but still Oliver comes on saying, yep. you guessed it, "50 feet".
Tried resetting languages ifor the default and langauge inputs and text to speech...again and used Any Locale. Nope!
I know that Google Nav can be buggy a little, but c'mon!
Any help is welcome. I'm excellent at navigating and reading maps. Don't need a GPS, but damn it! It's supposed to be a feature that works, therefore I want to use it. It makes a fun toy.

Need some help with AppMarket

So I recently bought an HTC One E9+ in China. Managed to change the devices language to English, but, the AppMarket is not Google obviously, and is in Chinese.
Can anyone help me change the markets language/install the regular android playstore? Im not tech savvy at all when it comes to phones..
Thanks!
Are you sure your E9+ is a genuine HTC?
Mine is imported from HK and first start up was also chinese but quick yt vid helped me change language to english.
Everything was english then, including the google play store.
But you did say you havent got the google play store on yours? Odd.
Well,I suggest a google search for the "download google play store app" and Im sure you will find it easily.
Try this!
