Redbox anybody? - Fire TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone been able to sideload RedBox? There are two versions of the Redbox instant in the play store. I tried both with no success.
I get "Install failed missing shared library."

Nobody interested in Redbox? LOL!
To this day, still can't get it. Still shows.... failure missing shared library.

[Q] a different market problem? server error?

Been getting this the whole night trying to go to my "downloads" section in the market place.
"A sever error has occured. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen."
Random.. stumped.. anyone else getting this? server error possibly?
I think it may be my fault because I cleared out my market data in my app settings. Or just a coincidence that the market's half bugged tonight
Same here, I can't access the download section in Market either. Maybe there's something wrong with the servers.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Lots of people have been reporting this tonight. I got the server error when trying to access my downloads, but it worked when I hit retry.
This is Google's problem and has nothing to do with our phones.
Getting the same error, nothing I do bypasses it.

Still experiencing this. The rest of the market is working fine and still lets me search and download apps. I just cant access the downloads page. All other Google apps seem to be working properly as well.
I think google is applying a system/security update on the market. Notice that all paid apps are inaccessible.

Google Play store error: [RPC:S-5:AEC-0]

google play store error: [RPC:S-5:AEC-0]
I've been getting this on a few devices for the past few days and have done LOADS of searching and tried numerous listed and suggested solutions to resolve this error. Including removing and re-adding google account, clearing cache and data on Google Play Services and Google Play store. Restoring a previous backup of the Playstore etc. but nothing has worked.
Seems I'm not alone. Here are some recent search results you can paruse if you feel like it.
Just this evening I logged into the Play Store via the Web on a PC and went to 'My Applicatins' in the Play Store and get an error there too!!
Supposedly Google is aware of this and is 'working on it' but since they are notorious hard to get any real information from I doubt we'll get an update until it 'just works'.
Though I'd put this out for others in the same boat.
Have you tried the JB server reset?
In Terminal:
--------------------
su
drmserver&
--------------------
Reboot phone

Tried that too. Still getting error. Still can't update anything. Also tried diferent (including stock) kernels and doing all of the suggestions.
When I log into Playstore via web and click on 'My Android Apps' I get this "We're sorry, there was an error. Please try again later." too still.
Did get some apps to install by just unistalling and using the web to 'push' them to the phone again. But others won't.
Pretty frustrating. But I guess I'll just keep pluging along.
Is there a Google tech support #? Lol

I spoke yesterday with the support of Google. They do not have any solution and what they said is just ridiculous "to wait until a solution" Currently website record that they support are aware of the problem and the middle of April they care but still no solution.
I suggest you just call and update them that the problem is common and much simpler device owners encounter this problem ... just massive advertising will probably have to address the problem. This simply indicates disrespect.

Or that they have no idea what the problem is and they are stalling as much as they can so they don't have to admit it (more likely scenario)
Everything is now working!!!!!!!!!!!! Problem solved!!!!!:highfive:
Okay I fixed now....
I switched off all of my devices.. Then I keep one only...
Go to system
Privacy
Unmark back up my data
Then make a factory reset..
After that the device will be opened again...
Put your email
Unmark restore my account in this device (in the first setup)
After setup is finished go to market.. Then you will find all your purchased apps and even your pending updates.
Try to retrieve one of your purchased app, and update one app
That is it.
Now open your other devices.. All well be fixed.
This is my experience.
Hope will work with you
Playstore seems to be working for me too now.
Works on phone AND the Web (desktop) interface for 'My Android Applications' is working too.
Also thought I'd add this for other who have problems with PlayStore.
Though Google seems to have corrected the problem, it may come up in the future, or you may simply wish to download .apk(s) seperately.
You can use a Chrome extension to download the .apk then push it to your phone or copy it and install it.
There is a good page on how to do this here.
The one caveat I'd recommend if you use the extension it to use Google's two factor/step authentification, create an application specific password for just this extension, use the extension to grab your apk(s) then delete that app specific access. If you don't know how to do that there is always Google.. [I hate when I have to use my Google credentials anywhere and really don't trust any other sites or applications to be secure and completely non-nefarious; but that's me and my tinfoil hat].

[Q] Sudden SSL errors

My son's 210R just today started getting SSL errors every time he tries to access a Google site. It also seems to be interfering with Google apps as well, YouTube, Play Store, and Gmail all report "no connection". He pretty much can't do anything that requires a connection to Google.
This is on our home network, I have another 210R, my own 310, plus computers, Xbox, etc that don't get any sort of error so I don't think it's a network issue.
I did root the table the day before yesterday, and uninstalled a few system apps he didn't use (Flipboard, ChatOn, WatchOn, Game Hub, Play Music, Game Hub, Music Hub, Peel, Polaris, and Group Play).
Could any of that have caused an issue? I rooted by flashing TWRP from Odin and then flashing the universal root zip.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

Please check your Time/Date and adjust it in case it is not correct. As the Samsung Galaxy Tab has no ntp time sync this could be the reason for the problem. If the time is correct you will have to keep searching for the solution.

Thanks for the reply.
I read that somewhere else, too. Right after I did a factory reset, which also worked.
Checked the date and time, and just as NilsBe thought, made it right and viola! Much thanx

Google's Map - double texts...?

Hi all,
I just setup my new (un-root) Fire phone w/ Google's Play Store. To make it shorts, the setup went well & my phone has a working Play Store.
I managed to successfully install Google's Map. However, the texts on the street's name & some places are double & stacking up.
Just wonder what could possibly cause this double/stacking up texts. Anyone has the same problem as mine? Also, how did you fix it?
Thx a million...
Edited:
NM, I found a by-pass solution. Here...!!!
By installing, either Chrome or Earth. Then, running Map from either one of these apps.
Same
I am having the same exact issue, ill attach a picture.

Question How do I stop signing in on install

I have an the Recipe Keeper app which I pay pro for. It has stopped syncing. When I sign out it is as though I haven't and I can access all the recipes as if I was signed in. I have signed out, then uninstalled it, cleared my cache and then reinstalled from Google Play. When I open the newly installed app I am already signed in even though I signed out before uninstalling it. Any ideas what is causing this?
