Attaching Dropbox files to email - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

I might be missing something here, but when I want to attach a file from my Dropbox to an email I'm sending using the stock email app, I select the attach option, then 'my files'. From here I can't find where my Dropbox files are located. Before Kitkat, I recall there being an option to browse the Dropbox folder. I found a workaround where I choose to attach an image, which DOES give me the option to browse my Dropbox folder, then select the 'show all files' option, then just select any non - image file I want to attach. It'd be easier to be able to browse all my files in one place though. Anyone with experience know what I'm doing wrong, if anything? Thanks.

You are better off sending a link to the file.

possible to attach multiple files at once to an email?

Am I missing something, or is the process for adding email attachments just horrible?
Just now, I'm specifically trying to email a few photos at a time.
If I try and do it from File Explorer - when you highlight more than one file, the "Send" option in the menu isn't available.
If I try and use Total Commander, the only option is to send via IR.
If I try and do it from within the 'compose email' screen:
a) if I try Insert -> Picture, I can't select mutiple files. And it takes me to the devices "My Pictures" folder every time and all my images are stored on storage card, so it's a real hassle having to go back and forth.
b) if I try Insert -> File, it takes me to this HORRIBLE "Open" page which seems to be attempting (and FAILING!) to show all the files on my device in one window. And even then, you STILL can't select multiple files.
Is there any way to do this?
(Very weird - and annoying - for a business device to fail so badly at something like this. Unless I'm missing something!!)
Thanks, M
To the best of my knowledge, you are doing everything right. I don't think there's a way to select multiple files to attach all in one go.
What I normally do if I want to attach multiple files, I use Resco Explorer to compress the files into a zip. Then I attach the single zip file instead.
Thanks ohyeahar. I'd thought of that - and may still use this method at points - but there are times when it'd be good to use single files as well. (e.g. uploading photos to facebook, they have to be single jpg files)
Just seems terrible that such a basic functionality is left out.

Click to collapse
In Resco explorer if you slide your finger over the icons, it makes multi-selection. Just if you missed it.

How to save email attachments

I emailed myself a cab file that I would like to install on my device. I have Outlook configured to storage attachment on my storage card. I find an inbox.mst folder on my storage card, but every file has a .att attachment. I found the file that it must be, because of date and size, and copied to another folder and then renamed it. Once i launched it, it was the .cab that I wanted. But is there a better way to save email attachments?

When you open an e-mail you should see the attachment listed, just as you would on a desktop Outlook (even though you've set it to be stored in the bundle on the storage card). If it hasn't actually been downloaded from the server yet (because of how "attachment-size" restriction has been set) you'll need to have it do that first. Then do a long press on the name of the attachment and a little dialog-window should pop up/open with "save as" as an option. Select it.

Download zip file email attachment on GN

I bought a license for TitaniumBackup Pro and they emailed me a zip file containing the license. I'm now using a GN and I can't download the zip file because its a potentially dangerous file type.
Without access to a PC, how do I get thiis license?
What email are you using? Email app, gmail app.. webmail?
My CM7 gmail won't let me download attached zip files so i use the Browser, Mobile Gmail page instead.
Gmail and built-in email app.
Will try the browaer method!
Look on the market for an app called Save My Attach. It should let you save any attachment regardless of file type. There's also another app i use called Attach My Files or it may just be called Attachments. That app lets me attach anything i want in Gmail. Make sure the TB license TXT file is in the root of your sdcard when you run TB for the first time so it applies the license. Good luck.
Save my Attach. Great tip, thanks!
Well save my attach would be great if it worked. I just sent myself a zip file and got the same error LOL. I think i like the 2.3.x version better.

[Q] add actions to choose an action?eedfr

I just picked up a 2014 Note 10.1 and am using the micro usb to usb adapter to connect my Garmin 800. I can use the file manager to access the files on the device and upload them to DropBox without any issues. However, when I go to my TrainingPeaks or Strava page and select to upload a file, I can't get an option to use the file manager to browse for a file. I'd really like some way to add options to the 'Choose an action' menu.
Does anyone know how this is possible?
I've messed around with this a bit more but I can't seem to get it to work no matter what I do. If I upload the file to DropBox then go to dDropBox to load it via the web page, I'm told that they can't determine the type of file. If I try to upload the exact same file from my PC, it works a charm. I don't have to do it from DropBox though.
Just wondering if anyone else has that issue with uploading files via the USB adapter to web pages.

Where is the downloads folder?

Sorry guys my parents bought this phone and I don't own one so I don't know how else to help them. They were wondering where the download folder was since it seems the note 4 doesn't have that specific folder in the apps directory anymore. Also the my files doesn't seem like it has an all files folder either. So how do you check and delete downloaded files?
The my files app has a section for it.
Its in the local storage section of the my files app. you can see all your files there.
Google might be able to help you also.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using XDA Free mobile app
Also, my files app, settings, then check show hidden files.
Call me a noob, but when I copy files in the "Download" folder (My Files>Device Storage) and I open Dropbox and select to Upload "Other Files", Dropbox goes immediately to the Downloads folder which is blank. I would like to know where the heck this "Downloads" (shown in dropbox) is located. I don't think Downloads in dropbox is the same as Download in Device Storage.
