[Q] Delete Superuser - HTC One X

Hi Experts,
i am posting after a very long time.
So i have an Orange version of HTC one X which i had rooted .
i however didnt install a custom ROM.
Now since i use my phone to access office emails, the team wanted me to unroot my device.
i checked on google and the easiest way was to delete some SU files from bin folder, and delete Superuser.apk.
i did delete the files, however was unable to delete the .apk file.
i relocked my bootloader.
i still get error messages from my office security system that my system is rooted.
i really want your step by step help to remove the SU without losing any data, or factory reste.. HELP!!

ok tried everythng .. cant get this to work.. guys i need this real bad.. my email access has been barred.
Though mu bootloader says Relocked, and root checker says tht i do no have root, i am unable to get rid of Super SU, and an app installed by my office (Mass360) says that i cannot receice email as my device is rooted

[q] frg83 downgrade or root

I've checked other post about rooting FRG83 but seems I can't even pass the first step they said.
My situation are as follow:
1. My N1 has used the UNIVERSAL ANDROOT in FRG91/33(forgot), then I had upgraded to FRG83. However the root privilage has lost after upgraded to FRG83.
2. I cannot remove the superuser.apk.
3. I tried using the debug mode method to root it (h ttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=736271).
4. I tried using the freenexus.bat to push files into my phone and 0bytes of data has written into my phone. I tried step 7b and permission denied was shown up. I tried to use freenexus.bat again and nothing about permission was shown again.
5. In step 13b I got "-rwxr-xr-x" after step 11 which should mean I can write something into my phone(?). However I found that there were nothing written into my phone since it showed me "permission denied" again.
what can I do if I want to root or downgrade my FRG83 N1?
im on the same boat. dont really mind losing root but i want superuser.apk out if i dont have root anyway.
any thoughts?
I need root since I need to download some paid apps for my work.
I just downgraded my FRG83 to FRG33, now trying to flash my N1 to FRF91 so I can use universal androot again.

[Q] Problem with superuser/superSU/rooting

This being my first post a HI EVERYBODY is in order.
On with the show.
So, I managed to unlock my bootloader via htcdev website, i slapped on the cwm recovery and managed to put a custom rom on my cell.
The rom in question is the jellyking, works fine, everything is great.
PROBLEM:
although ive tried several cm10 roms i liked jellyking the most but on all of them i had troubles getting root.
what happens is that i download es file manager, set it to give me root and mount system as RW, popup says that the preinstalled (with rom) superuser app granted those rights and that everything should be superb, but I couldnt copy files from my sd to lets say /system/media (wanted to change my bootanim) it says file copy failed, only once i did manage to copy a file but i dont know how.
The question:
when i put a custom rom, do i need to reapply the famous root.zip or maybe install busybox as my first app or maybe flash over the existing superuser app the superSU app which seems to update the root binaries sucessfully.
BOTTOM LINE:
What is the exact (if any) procedure that I need to follow to get perm root access (copy rights) to my own phone, each and every reboot.
Thanks in advance for all Your insights,
Humbly,

SuperSU & Framaroot - Need help!

First of all, I have no idea where should this be posted as I am a total noobie to this forum and there is way too many categories.
I have a big problem. I installed Framaroot, used the first option (Boromir?) and have rooted my phone successfully. I tried to use *#*#supersu#*#* but nothing came up, the digits just disappeared, so I installed SuperSU from the market. I didn't do much on it, just changed the theme and hid it from my apps. I were rooted and happy for about a month, then however I got angered by SuperSU because I had to restart Hex Editor every time to get the root permissions (I were editing Terraria save files). The anger made me want to uninstall SuperSU, hoping it would just grant all the perms to the editor. First of all I disabled SuperSU, and when I realised it actually disabled the whole root, I enabled it again (unsure if it worked), I assumed everything is working, but I still wanted to get rid of the permission thing, so I pressed something like 'clean up to switch to a different superuser', and restarted my phone. I come back, and I have no root, so I went into Framaroot and used all the options, each returning that SuperSU and superuser binaries were installed. I restarted my phone, grabbed SuperSU from the Play store, just to find out that 'SuperSU binaries were not installed and SuperSU cannot install them, this is a problem!'. I then went on Framaroot, uninstalled root with all 3 options, restarted, then installed all, restarded, and the problem is still occuring. I am running Android Jelly Bean on Alcatel 4030X.
I have completely no PC access, so any USB roots or things like that are a no go. Please help!
Hi
since no-one has replied it may be because you have no paragraphs so it shows a disorganised mind....giggles
#########
Since you claim you used framaroot to install we now try to get root again
system settings security enable unknown sources
install framaroot ....if you lost it....to sdcard
install it
run it
choose first root exploit as you say that worked
if success you must reboot
###########
What you need to do if you have chainfire's superuser installed next time
go to app drawer
click on the red and yellow su icon
click on settings
change the default from .....ask each time to grant
reboot phone to test permission for apps is now auto granted. Especially test Hex Editor
###########
Altho you don't ask....there are 2 ways of updating chainfire's app
playstore ....click on update for app
open it
it will give you a dialog box to update
choose normal............it attempts to autoupdate
b) install a custom recovery and choose TWRP or CWM or CTR etc and try to update thru custom recovery
good luck

Temporary Root to Access data/ Directory - is it possible?

Hi there,
I'm needing root access but I don't want to permanently have my device rooted - is there a way to achieve this or am I on the road to nowhere? Ideally I'd get access, download the files and then reboot back to normal.
Running standard 9 Pie in my Pixel 2 XL.
Many thanks!
I may be wrong so anyone with more knowledge please chime in. In order to root on this phone you need to modify the boot.img and to do that you need an unlocked bootloader. Is yours unlocked? If not I think you may be dead in the water.
If you're meaning the OEM Unlocking in the developer settings then yes I can unlock that. I know some networks block it from being toggled but I bought my phone unlocked so isn't tied to any provider so I'm think it may be possible?
That button gives you the ability to unlock the bootloader via fastboot, not an instant unlock.

You shouldn't need root to copy files from the /data partition. You can simply use a file manager for that. You need root however to copy files to the /data partition.
A little more detail on what you're trying to accomplish here may be useful.
I have tried a few file explorers and none of them have access to data/. It's true I only want to read from and not write to any of the files and/or directories but I don't even seem to be able to get that.
I'm wanting to copy the key file from the WhatsApp folder.
I think it's in data/data/com.whatsapp/key
If the file managers can't see it, use ADB and pull it from /data.

Is there any working method to temporary root this phone?

So, i don't want any custom ROM or anything, i just need to access some app's hidden files (Steam), more specifically, i need to edit some XML files that are stuck somewhere in /data.
KingoRoot doesn't work, the APK just says Root Failed, and tells me to try the desktop variant, the desktop variant doesn't work either.
I would've rooted it, but i don't want to unlock the bootloader and lose my files. So i am at a bit of a loss here.
