M8 purchased @Costco - T-Mobile HTC One (M8)

I recently bought my wife's m8 from Costco after returning the s5 plastic edition . This is just FYI if you have Costco membership or a friend that has one. From Costco it is truly 0 down. They don't even make you pay the taxes for the phone and they give you a 25 dollar bill credit. Also they give you like a bundle package. Came with car charger screen protector and something else I can't think of. You get the regular 14 day with t-mobile and then on top of that Costco 90 day return or I think exchange if something is wrong with it or you are not satisfied. Wow awesome if you ask me. I'm getting my phones from there from now on.

Did you use JUMP to get the new phone? How do the taxes end up getting paid if you don't do it in the store?

No I don't have jump. I just finance the phone. And the taxes I will confirm if it's added on the recipient which I believe it is but I'm not sure. They don't make you pay anything if it's zero down. But will.confirm about tax tonight. Don't want to mislead. Sorry about that.

I ended up purchasing my M8 from Costco. I also purchased a Samsung Galaxy Light for my mother. They wrote out 2 orders and had me go and pay the taxes at the cashier. Then I went back to the kiosk and a Costco employee brought the two phones to me. I'm in California, btw.

Pretty sure Texas doesn't have a state income tax so regardless where you go with in the 7 states that don't have state income taxes you will pay zero.

Yup just checked and did not charge taxes. Pretty awesome

No Costco doesn't have a restocking fee. If you don't like it you can return it no question asked just if something is wrong with it. You can return a half eaten cake there lol. They want you to be satisfied with your membership. And plus I used to work there.

At T-Mobile, it's also 0 down for the M8 (if you have good credit) . At Costco, is it 0 down for all members, even if you have bad credit?

Why is the Tmobile version so much more???

I bought the phone the day after it came out but the total out the door was just short of $400. Then I would have gotten the $50 rebate.
I have a tmobile my touch 4g slide and it is a pretty good phone. I just couldn't justify $350 net so I returned it and paid the $50 restocking fee.
I got really ticked off when a co worker told me he got his from Sprint for $200. Then, a couple of days later, he told me that the cost was $100.
Why does Tmobile charge so much?

Probably the chip to support hspa+ 72 made it cost more than the lte models.
I think it's just T-Mobile's pricing structure. With my now-gone New Every Two discount on Verizon, I paid $130 with a new two-year contract for my white 16GB Galaxy S3.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
I believe it's a mix of T-Mobile having cheaper plans for voice/text/data and also it could be the fact that the phone uses HSPA+.
I got mine on June 21st so I can't complain. Plus I have nothing but excellent contact with T-Mobile and excellent cell/data service.

wth do these cost so damn much more than a tablet with pretty much the same specs (gn10.1)?
On a whim yesterday, I stopped in a local Sprint store. Said they didn't know when it would be launched and wasn't expecting stock. About a mile away is another Sprint store. Stopped in there and they had 2.
Since I recently upgraded to the GS3, I wasn't able for upgrade pricing. They told me the stock was for upgrades only. After a few minutes of chatting, not only did they sell it to me, but they gave it to me for $570. :good:

Anyone know if Best Buy will price match Sprint's retail price? I am contemplating selling them back my GS3 for $349 and picking up the Note. I'd rather pay $300 than $450...

I think they do. But it has to be a published price, so I don't think your employee discount will count. They need like a newspaper ad or to be able to pull up a webpage (like Amazon) by themselves and see the cheaper published price.
Do they match the retail price? If so take the picture of Costco's retail price and bring it in and have them sell you the phone for $350 off contract.
This question isn't even in the wrong section, it's on the wrong website.

It's not a policy made by T-Mobile. By federal law, a retail store cannot sell all 4 main carriers (don't ask me why). Therefore it is up to the resaler to choose which 3 they want to sell. For example, Target chose not to sell Sprint.

New TMo Zero Down Promo

Not bad...Starts tomorrow for a limited time
http://www.dailytech.com/TMobiles+Z...Smartphones+Starting+July+27/article33052.htm
I love you t-mobile
YOU KEEP GETTING BETTER AND BETTER.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2NYT8uV_VQ
No zero down mean you don't need to pay for it now. So instead of making you have down payment right now they put that payment toward the monthly payment plan.
Say you want S4, instead of 150 down and 20x24 totaling 630, you pay 0 down and 25x24 total of 600. $30 saving. Not bad. .
But phone like HTC one, you'll be paying 0 down and 25x24 total 600 instead of 80 down (Web)and 20x24 total of 560 normally. Cost you $40 more.
Over all tmobile is being aggressive lately. .

That's annoying as hell.
I just talked to a Loyalty rep this afternoon to change plans and waive fees, who told me about this promotion. I asked him three separate times if the lack of down payment came back on the back end, by either increasing monthly payments or adding months, and every time he told me, No, it's $20 for 24 months.
I'm getting my Note II tomorrow, and I guess I'll see what happens with my next bill.

I switched from sprint a wk ago and went in this morning and was refunded $150 for one s4 and $150 bill credit for another. Also u have to b in the "A or B" credit bracket in order to qualify for the zero down. And for each line u open there is still a $50 charge for taxes. So 4 lines is $200 plus $10 per sim kit (new costomers).
I think thats about right.

Yes you do pay extra on the back end for it being no money down, but a lot of people do not want to pay a dime upfront so for them, this is good.
