Alarm clock issues - T-Mobile HTC One (M8)

The alarm clock on the phone seems to work when it wants too. Sometimes it comes on full blast until I turn it to snooze. After snooze it comes back on after the set time I have set and only plays for like 2 or three seconds without me touching it. Then I think after that no more alarm. Anyone else? I'm on latest venom ROM. S-on.

[Q] Alarm vibrate function

How do I disable the vibrating alert for alarms? 7am every day I wish I could be woken by the sedate tones of my preferred alarm sound, yet instead it sounds like someone has trapped an electric toothbrush in a biscuit tin.
Stock Froyo, btw.
That's exactly how I felt about the alarm vibrator. And it's easy to miss where you can disable it. Go back to editing the alarm and scroll the screen all the way down, you'll see it at the bottom.

This morning was much more pleasant! I'd buy you a beer, but you're probably not local to me
Edit: Australia! Can't get much further away

Have you checked to make sure you didn't turn the alarm volume off? It's that a lot of times. Also leave the phone on. A lot of people think their phone will turn on to sound the alarm and turn them off at night to save battery.

Could also try an alarm app from the marketplace. Or rooting and flashing a different rom.

That's what I would do. I didn't know that the stock alarm spoke, but I downloaded smarter alarm from the market and it is great. Tells me the time, news, weather, new emails, and calls me by my name. Can't beat that IMO

Turning vibrate off the alarm ?

I can only see an option for vibrate on notifications

Setting is in the alarm itself, where you choose alarm tone

Had I done this in would have been very late for work this morning as despite not being on silent my various alarms that I use every day decided not to make a sound. Luckily the power and noise of the vibrate was enough to awake me from my slumber.
I am wondering if this is an extension of the bug that stops the messaging app notifying me of text messages occasionally.

I've had issues as well. Heres what I found out.
Even though snooze is turned on you have to go back in and click the snooze options and save again then save one more time.
When its set to 3 times or more at 5 mins you have to set the alarm to say 7:20 or 8:20 etc... at 7:25 it will trigger the alarm then shut the snooze off for some odd reason.
Yea, after a few days of over sleeping and messing around it seems like with the above will work fine.

Lol yeah I was lucky and woke up ten min's after I hit snooze.. thanks I'll give it a shot!

Stock Alarm

Not being able to configure the snooze length or number of snoozes in the stock alarm/clock app is a terrible design. I know there are a ton of other alarm clock apps out there on the play store, but I'm hesitant to switch to one of those, not being a system app.
Would using a third party app and disabling the built clock cause any problems?

I don't know if I would disable the built in clock, if i did i would test out my clocks and alarms all day before i tried to use it for a wake up. I would be most worried about the volume, ya know is it still gonna alarm if i had my phone on silent..
For those interested. I ended up installing Timely and leaving the stock app alone. Timely works perfectly and gives more options than stock.
