[WTF][NEW PHONE] Brand new Galaxy W, Not what you might expect though - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

The image below shows that Samsung might want to release another device named Galaxy W, however it has absolutely nothing to do with our Galaxy W and I know that our device does have the name Galaxy Wonder but it still creates a (pointless really) confusion.

As I said this 'NEW' Galaxy W has nothing to do with our Galaxy and seems to be more like Galaxy Mega 2 as it has 7 inch screen (SERIOUSLY? 7 INCHES IN A PHONE?!).
There is a chance that the name Galaxy W will only be present in South Korea and it might actually have the name Galaxy Mega 2 worldwide, either way, what do you guys think?
I think they should really pick a different name for it, it's just confusing. That is unless they have some other magical name for it, I'm suggesting Samsung Galaxy Widespread.

The phone is now official

hahha! If it names "Galaxy W", I think it will be so ridiculous and confusing. I agree with you.

This new W has absolutely nothing to do with our one other than the name, so that won't be possible and it only runs 4.2

[Q] Is it possible to get Samsung Apps on the Galaxy Nexus?

Samsung has a great promotion going on right now. If you have a Samsung Apps compatible phone, like the Galaxy SII or Galaxy Note, then you can get some great games for free. Well I would really like some of those games, so I was wondering if there's a way to get Samsung Apps on my Galaxy Nexus. I tried just installing the apk, but that failed. So are there any steps I could take to get this working? Any help is appreciated, thanks.
Anyone know something about this?
I doubt that this is possible. The Samsung apps depend on Samsung's TouchWiz, which is not a part of the Galaxy Nexus.

Actually, you can install on your galaxy nexus if you get the correct apk. Follow this link and let google translate the page for you. You can get the correct app clicking que pink/purple area button.

But, here, in Brazil, it installs but can't run ok.

installs on VZW GNex
It will install and open on the VZW Gnex but you will get a nice little pop up that says limited functionality for this device and country. Personally I blame vzw.

Verizon GN Users: Disappointed there is no 4.04 update yet?

I know I am. But it just proves since we got it for Verizon all of the updates will be delayed from when GSM users get them
Suçks cause i thought we got the 4.02 update pretty quick.
I wonder if Sprint having basically the same phone will change anything?
Of course there is always CM9 or AOSP builds. But official stuff is always nice. Makes me wonder why they havent officially released it.

EXCLUSIVE: First Galaxy S III ROM out now! by Sammoblie

Today you can download the first official firmware of the Galaxy S III at SamMobile.
Yesterday we heard about the ROOT fix for the Galaxy S III by XDA developer Chainfire.
To make everything OK we decided to give the first rom now for the public!
The developers could start porting the new Touch-Wizz to the Galaxy S II or Galaxy Note.
They can find all the voice controls and all the motion control software in this rom!!
Lets hope that the developers are happy now!
So now the wait is over…
We only need to wait for Samsung to open the sources and the phone itself.
We like to thank our insider for giving us the first rom…
Information about the rom:
GT-I9300 = Galaxy S III
I9300XXALE8
XXA = Europe
L = 2012
E = May
8 = version
CSC version is: OJVLE4 ( Turkey )

Please tell me you are kidding ?
Google dropped support of hardware button on Nexus, why bring them back. Stats also says it has an SdCard another thing that google removed from the nexus. And finally, dont you think it look more like a Galaxy S III ? This is not next galaxy nexus, well i hope, and if it is, it's an insult. Pretty much like the iPhone 4s vs iPhone 4.
Check your facts please.

Based on the model number, its highly likely that its based from the Galaxy Nexus. Another sign, you wont see a Galaxy Nexus II

There are no minimum specs for anything. For Samsung phones such as galaxy mini, ace etc are not 'fit' for ICS updates. But the devs have dont it and they are running JB easily.
Where there's a will, there's a way
Me and my bots will sign this
I love initiatives like this - even if we could make a team ourselves and try to port it i'd be happy . I believe everything is possible people just have lame excuses for not trying !
Huh ! Ubuntu on galaxy y would be sweetest of dreams to come true if it happens
et too brute !

Right like the Galaxy 5 which runs on CM10.1 even the min specs are much higher than the specs of galaxy 5.
I'll also tell my friends to sign this petition!
