[Q] Time settings other continent - Fire TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey gus,
my fire tv just arrived (Europe) and it seems that the time settings are restricted to US only.
Is there a way to override this? I'd really like to see my local time.
Any input is appreciated.

Changing/Adding Regions

Hi everyone. New to the forum and thought maybe someone here could help with my situation.
I recently purchased my Desire and I'm loving it. The only issue is that I am in Canada and the device is meant for Europe. Therefore even though it knows I'm in Canada and all my dates and times are correct on my end, if someone sends me a text message, the time stamp will show up as 5 hours behind mine. Also, applications will auto adjust their settings based on my location as well.
What I wanted to know is if anyone knows of any options that I have for adding North American Region capabilities to my phone? Will Rooting my phone allow me access to this?
Thanks everyone, any info would be helpful. And sorry if I sound like a NOOB, all this stuff is still fairly new to me.
Cheers.

[Q] Registering in Europe

Hello guys, first of all sorry if my question has already been answered.
I am Italian, and I've bought a Kindle Fire having it delivered to a friend that will come back in Italy next month.
I've seen that when you power up the KF for the first time, you need to register it, so my question is: is it possible to register kindle fire in europe?
Or do you think it's better to have my friend unwrap it, power up and register ?
Thank you for your help.
Aww, sorry for the wrong section
Im wondering exactly the same thing
Hey got mine today (austria) first of all it worked but while first boot I connected to wifi and made an sw update and no I can´t find a wifi network! But first time it showed my name and everything ... I think you only can´t use the amazon instant services!!
Here is my Unboxing Video and some pictures (also in comparison to the mediapad ):
Amazon Kindle Unboxing video and pictures
So now your kindle can't connect to any WiFi network?
Try this, in the Wireless Network Settings, Advanced Options-there is a option to "Enable International Channels", you can enable Channels 12 and 13 for Europe, and 12, 13 and 14 for Japan.
Yeah I tried this! But it doesn´t effect anything when I´m changing between the options! The intressting thing is that sometimes wifi is available in settings (also shows in bar) and as far as I go back to home or to browser I lose the connection! But it seems that I´m the only one with this problem....
Also tired to reinstall the 6.1 Update but doesn´t solve my problem!

n00b needs HELP!!

Flame away and chuck poo...some will some wont.
Basically, have bought a Verizon M8 from the USA & I live in Sydney Australia, I paid $655.00 for the phone.
I have looked, downloaded and read multiple threads on work others are doing on here.
Can someone point me in the right direction from a n00b perspective on how to flash the phone so all the Verizon crap is gone please?
When I dial a number its adding a +1 because it thinks I'm outside the USA.
I would like to have the phone defaulted or if possible a better ROM loaded, last time I did this was on my old HTC Goole Nexus 1 phone...loooong time ago.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers RR.

Have a read HERE on the Verizon forum and see if they can help, they'll know more than here on the International forum. Good luck :good:
Try this.
Disable "Home dialing" or set to "No. Use original number" in "Home dialing assistant" at: Settings > Call > "Home dialing settings"

Question Help, Smart pen update button greys out

Hello, i bought the xiaomi smart pen for pad 5 and it connects and work well but whenever i tap on the check for update button it just greyes out and nothing happens, any fix for that ?
It also randomly stops writing.
I tried the vpn trick but also didn't work, pls help
Tablet is global and pen is china version
any help will be appreciated
Edit: i found a fix
If yhe vpn trick is not working for then you can also try to change the region of the tablet to spain.
Atleast that's how mine was updated
Same happens with me
In my case pen working fine only issue is not able to update
You have to insist with the VPN trick. Try using different apps from the Play Store, I can guarantee you it works. Other people have been in your situation, I discovered the trick myself and I had the same issue, I insisted A LOT
many thanks, i'll try this solution and the send a feedback
changing the device Region worked for me. Thanks a lot.
I had the VPN connection for USA ON and at the same time USA as the device Region.
Many Thanks
