Hello guys, I recently bought Htc desire 816 dual sim mobile from Dubai. I unlocked the bootloader via htc to root that device and in the process I bricked my phone. I am unable to find the stock rom anywhere on internet and for a surprise, I couldnt find this phone model on htc website. Can anyone please help bringing my device alive ?
Although I managed to get the cwm recovery installed on mobile, I couldnt find rest of the files needed to boot the system normally. It keeps on going to cwm recovery only instead of booting to the normal screen. Pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase help me with the stock rom (not chinese though)

Install the cwm image from this temporarily " http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2780507 "
note :
this will help you to regain your device, and you can use it good... it has all the apps in it.........
it is English..... ( but originally developed from open source chinese variant.... )
I too bricked my 816 dual.... but this will help you reinstate your device.....
wait untill the Stock Rom is released................ and after that reflash your device.........
or, try to find the same device model from the forum users.... and ask them to give you device cwm or twarp backup.....
you can clone your device from a same regional device backup.... after restore.... do a factory reset....
your mobile will be all new.....................

I guess someone should make a thread and maintain it with shared backup from different regional users.. It'll help bricked devices for everyone here..

Some dual sim some single.. Base language and international version...
Not that there are not of categories but we often hear people looking for a particular version to go back to stock

How Can we now our device version regional (international, India, ....) ??????

Whenever I try to use the unlock bootloader (htcdev.com) he told me I had to install the latest version 2.14.161.1.
But I have a newer version, my software number is 2.26.161.1 and even if I search for new updates, I only get the message that my version is already up to date.
I hope someone has an idea. I use a HTC Wildfire S A510e.
Android version: 2.3.5

I had a similar question and went direct to HTC for an answer. Here's what they said:

My name is Jonathan and I am a Technical Support Agent for the HTC Written Team.
I understand that you are looking to unlock the bootloader on your device.
I am sorry but the ROM that is available via our site is for devices on the previous software version and as such is not compatible with your phone. We are working to make further device and software version compatible, but it takes time to produce the relevant ROM for each device.
I would advise that you keep an eye on the HTC Dev site for when the correct ROM will be available so that you are able to unlock the bootloader.

I am running a Wildfire S A510e using Android 2.3.5 and software number 2.26.771.2. The HTC answer was very annoying as I have so much bloatware crap I want removed from my handset and, at the moment, I can't.

816G doesnt have sense rom...it has gpe rom (so updating is immpossible)

To get your device info, you'll need to make sure all drivers are up-to-date.(HTC Sync, Java and ADB)
After installing,
- Navigate to ADB folder and click on any free space while holding the shift Key
- Choose 'Open command window here'
- Once cmd is started use this command

and check if your device is listed, then type

and copy/paste code here.

That file is for the European dual sim version D816h, not D816g (Indian dual sim).
