Not many Custom ROM for note 3 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

I have been waiting for 6 months now, I have barely seen any progress in the field of note android dev.
I had a galaxy s, the first samsung google phone, it had so many ROMs to try and now I am addicted to that but with nothing happening in note 3 world I am very disappointed.

I know what your saying. I noticed this a few months ago when I got the Note 3 and passed it off as being a rather new device. That there wouldn't be much yet.
I think that the Xposed Framework has dimmed or killed demand of fresh roms.
That's just my opinion of course!
Nick

Your kidding right?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk

Um you do know there are roms in the international forums?
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk

Most of the roms are pretty damn reliable. No need to flash much when what you're on ruining great. We got a tweaked alpha that runs better than most full roms.

Uhhh....There are a LOT of ROMs for the Note 3? I've probably tried close to 20 different ones....???

There's plenty for the Note 3.
If you think the Note 3 is bad, check out the Galaxy Tab Pro section.

Quality over quantity

First off - years ago there were not 5 flagship phones released from different manufacturers almost simultaneously.
Second - there was not as tight security on these devices making it more and more work for the developers
Third - Threads like this do not help development in any way. There is XDA-University and lots of threads that will help you modify your own device and possibly to create a ROM and start developing yourself.
XDA is a development site made by developers for developers, not a place where you get tons of free stuff to make your phone cool and whine about it when there is not enough free stuff made at great cost to developers personal and family time.

S3 community vs upcoming Note II

T Mobile community seems dead. I don't know if it's just me but where are all the developers? The Note II is coming out soon. I have a feeling everyone is going to jump on that.
So forum... Should i stick with the S3 or hold out and wait for the Note II.
Note II has a quadcore vs the S3 having a dual core..
will i notice a difference between the two performance wise?
dont bash.
apple fanboys gtfo.
I thought the note two was using the same S4 processor as our phones.

no samsung announced that it comes with the faster exynos 1.6ghz quadcore...
I would not get a phone with an Exynos processor after what codeworkx said about it, but that's just me.
Also, not sure how many ROMs you are looking for. There's a bunch of TouchWiz, there's CM10, AOKP, MIUI (still WIP), and some other AOSP-derived ROMs.
Thats what they said when att got note I. Go check the note I development and you will see how vivid it is +devs are waiting the release of stable jellybean. And idk what you mean by dead, we got every possible rom that exists around xda community. If you are a flash addict then that is your problem. But the best kernel dev has a galaxy s3(faux) + we got cyanogen also. As it regard touchwiz there is not much to dev about it cuz sammy did really well. Some theming and stuff will be good so yeah congrats for your topic, you sound like a total noob

I'm not a noob I'm just saying as if the note 2 came out would the s3 development slow down for t mobile...
Reason why I'm asking is cause the note 2 processor is much better... also better video card..
Wouldn't all the android enthusiasts go after the note 2? Especially the devs.?

Reread your post. You said that the s3 dev community is dead. And keep in mind that note 2 grabs only the attention of maybe 20% of the buyers cuz most of them do not like something that is that huge. Plus do some research. Its processor is old technology uses a9. When a15 comes out then yes you can call it an upgrade.

We have plenty of development but you can use ATT's roms/kernels on this too you know..
Wait so every rom for att works for this? How come devs don't post them in t mobile forum?

No way I would get a Note. Way to big and I have big hands. Just no reason for it.
When buying my S3, rep had what I thought was a tablet streaming music off it. He said it was the Note 1 and sat it down next to the S3 and I was like I am amazed at how many people use this as a phone. He told me he never uses it as a phone, rather an entertainment device. Had an Apple as his regular phone, lol!
Biggest I would go is....maybe 5", but honestly feel 4.8" is the sweet spot for guys with decent sized hands. Girls 4.3" should suffice.
I honestly believe the phablets will be a thing of the past in less than a couple years, maybe even sooner.
Sent from a galaxy far away!
Not note 2 for me. Phone looks great but I think is too much for me, I thought this phone was too big at first. The only thing it help was that I had a galaxy nexus and evo lte, I don't think 5 inches will be comfortable to use but who knows, I never thought I was going to get bigger then 4.3 (back on 2010 with original evo) and here we are now ha ha
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
4.8 is def a sweet spot, but at times it can be a chore reaching your thumb towards the top of the screen while using it one handed. Most people use bluetooth ear devices anyway so phonewise its not a huge concern with size

I'd prefer the Galaxy S3. I was drooling over the Note 2 at first, but I did some more research and the Galaxy S3 is a better size, price, and overall phone for me.
It is super hard to get aosp ROMs going on exynos based devices...Samsung doesn't like to release there source and drivers for there soc and when they do it is to late and outdated. Omap and Qualcomm are great at releasing s#it
I have a feeling there will be a lot of tw based ROMs for the N2. Maybe one or two hacked up aosp ROMs
I guess I'm sticking with what i have

Why Samsung? I would think google., then Samsung, assuming their ,making the next nexus device

Jelly bean was all about buttery smooth animation, when was that conference last year? Have we got to wait ages for another conference,?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Just like project butter, there was a rumor of a Project Roadrunner to optimize battery life. Personally the only things that I looking for is that and a more unified and polished looking OS in terms of design language, colors used etc.
Android is moving in the right direction. They have the momentum. All they need to do is 'dumb' it down a bit and make it 'prettier'. To have some of that 'android is for geeks only' nonsense banished. Maybe have like a BASIC MODE for new users.
I agree that Samsung should not be the company that knows when the release will be available, i think it is Google as they are the developers of Android, so it gets back to Google then not Samsung as they are just a hardware manufacturing partner (one in many, like LG & Sony)
Dont worry about features, Google will come up with surprises, have patience, and enjoy your phone
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
It's still to early to talk about this..
We'll probably hear about it at Googo I/O in June, with it launching in July with the Nexus 7 2.0.
So, you can expect it to launch for the Note II around December or January/2014.
The only thing I expect from Samsung is to make a iTunes for Android.
However poor might be apple might be in any terms, no one can deny that iTunes is awesome. You can backup easily, restore easily. If these features get unified into kies, I don't think much would be left to complain except for root in Stock rom
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Obviously note 3 will have key lime pie, just very exciting to think of what we will have for the future, and where will the new features be, an example would be the multi screen view, that wasn't even announced at the conference, or the note 2 event, yet it is fantastic,

Depends, if Note 3 is already in the works - obviously they will include 4.2.1 first, as there is no 4.3/5.0 available while the manufacturing process is undergoing. One thing is certain though, both Note 2 and Note will get KLP.

The new blackberry Z10 or Note 2 now?

I use to be the guy walking around with my cool blackberry and use their unified social settings.
Now, I have one line that can be used for upgrading. (plus loyalty discount on all the new phones + 2 year contract)
My dad wants the note 2. And I have the note 2.
Should I use my upgrade towards the new blackberry or get the nexus 4? Or keep the note 2. And why?
I Just wanna hear from different people's perspectives on this situation.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
if you are getting bored of note 2 then try something else new and tell your dad to use your note 2
Well at the end of the day its your decision to make...but with that said...I would say check the Z10 out thoroughly because its new territory and app support and etc... The lg nexus 4 is a beautiful device but you'd be giving up memory card support... Yea I would do a check list as far what you need it for and what features you can and cannot live without ...

To be honest, on my playbook, the os is superb, using bezel gestures as opposed to buttons is awesome. Android didn't catch up until jelly bean ( 4.2 project butter surpasses it) If BlackBerry can get the app support, and a phone with a decent screen, I would think about it, but for sure not the first generation of bb10. I would have to wait to see if the app world catches up. And for them to debug it. Love my note 2 and nexus 4 too much.

Will The GN2 See A Lollipop OTA Update?

Place your bets here.
Am guessing kit Kat is the last official update we are gonna see.
Sent from my SPH-L900
Highly doubt it. Most Samsung devices get 2 major updates and kitkat was be the second for us. (Thankfully we skipped 4.2.2) there will be aosp ports probably but the functionality will be greatly reduced.
Plus most of us will be moving on to the note 4 by years end...
Sent from my SPH-L900 using XDA Premium HD app
I don't see why not. The Note 2 is more than powerful enough to run anything that Android throws out, and Kit Kat actually lowered system requirements. Even with Touchwiz on top, the Note 2 is more than powerful enough to run whatever the next version of android is.
Now, the question is, how long will it take to actually get said update...
