Hi all,
I like to get a new Note 8 Wifi. After reading posts here, I found:
- the stock 4.1.2 has 'screen freezing' problem? Not sure what that is, but it doesn't sound good
- recent OTA upgrade to 4.2.2 may or may not fix it, and it introduced a new 'SPen offset problem'
- anything else?
Is this a bad time for me to buy a new Note 8 Wifi at this moment?

not everybody experiencing these issues, the screen freeze fixed on 4.2.2. The SPen offset problem; some experiencing the issue, and some don't.
Now, consider this; currently Note 8.0 WiFi is $299 at stables (in store only), plus there's this printable coupon $75 off (expiring 9/28) that would bring the price down to around $225....for $225 what you are getting is a steal here. Of course, if you can able to locate one in Stable stores, as seems like they all sold out...but give a try, you may get lucky...

Good luck finding a Note 8.0 in LA... lmfao... I bought mine on the 9/21 coupon. I called almost every stores in LA (WestSide all the way to San Bernandino and as far south Aliso Viejo). Some of them have incorrect inventory count, one store in San Fernando had a "broken" one. But I finally found one in Cerritos. Drove my ass there and picked it up. But as far as I can tell, none in the Greater Los Angeles area.
i picked on one. sold my sero 7 already and got the $25 credit, so only $125 out of pocket not including tax. another guy at work is going across town later to pick him up one. they've got 4 at another store. they had 2 at the one i went to but they could only find one. i was trying to see if they'd hold one.

most stores are likely out of stock by now. however you can have them order in-store thru their online kiosk. you'll end up paying the $299 price plus the $75 off coupon at the register. next business-day delivery thru the kiosk...that's how i was able to get mine
the galaxy perks promotion ($25 google play credit, hulu plus, plus some boingo stuff) ends 9/30 though...

Yeah, I was able to order mine exactly that way. But I couldn't get the next business day delivery, unfortunately. It delivers on Wednesday... So I will not receive the galaxy perks, sadly. How did you ask for the next business day delivery? I just asked how quick it can ship and she didn't give me options for different shipping speeds, just said it will come on Wednesday...

Sadly no. Samsung has really dropped the ball on the Canadian launch, and they wonder why Apple does so much better than them. How about not sucking at launching simultaneously everywhere? It's funny how the new iPad has been announced much later than the note and will be available earlier than the note here.

Bestbuy in Canada had them in stock a few days back and I ordered one right away. However there has been no change in my order status in all this time so I think they quite possibly don't have them available yet.

That is odd. I bought mine at BestBuy in Kitchener, Ontario on Tuesday. I was originally holding out for the Asus TF701T, but with no release date in sight for Canada, I went googling and saw something positive for this tablet and went to bestbuy to see if it was out yet. Did a search, they showed stock, and I went and bought it. It was behind the counter as they had not stocked it yet, but they did have them.
EDIT: Correction, it was Future Shop I bought it at.
Late this afternoon Best Buy Canada had 20 available on their web page. Tried to order again and it went through so maybe this time I will get one.
Sold out in a couple of hours.

Like some other thread stated, BB/FS started selling them in-store Nov. 1st.
I dropped by my local BB in vancouver on the 2nd and the employee said they had "stacks" in the back,
they just never got around to listing them in the online stock check since the 8th was the official samsung canada release date.
Went back today to get an exchange and they were out of stock, but it probably shouldn't take more than 1-2 weeks for them to restock.....

It seemed more like they had 20 available for the whole country.
I dread ordering online from Best Buy as they are so slow to ship. I imagine there will be stock showing up in stores by next Tuesday and my order will not have budged,

The S-pen is loose in the silo (when inserted with the button facing upwards, snug when button faces downwards),
so it sometimes becomes loose when the tablet tilted and lightly shaken and it auto-wakes the screen,
which would kill battery life if it inadvertently turned on while in my bag
Alot of Best Buys in Vancouver are restocked (but not listed as in stock on website)
just exchanged mine cause of the loose S-pen.
No problems with the new unit from early testing
NCIX has them in stock too if anyone is up north is still looking for this tab ~
still waiting to pull the trigger (not that low stock in Metro Van is helping) ... any guesses on whether any of the carriers will get the LTE model? and when? rumour is that Verizon is testing, wonder if Telus or Rogers is doing the same?

I would recommend taking a look at this article, I would imagine eventually it will be sold there through Amazon. One possible way around this is do you have any family or friends in the USA who would be willing to buy it and ship it to you? If that's not an option what you can do is use a service like this where you can buy the item on Amazon, ship it to them, and then they will forward it along to you in a couple days of shipping time.

A US-based VPN service would be a good way around that.
Honestly, I'd stay away from it for now.
I just got one (I'm Canadian), and I've setup a US based DNS that I use for Netflix, etc. on all my other devices and I still get content unavailable errors. I can't even *install* netflix without sideloading it right now.
This isn't ready to be used in Canada, go get an Android stick or a Google TV for now (I'm still using my Hisense Pulse's because the FireTV is so broken in Canada right now).
Luckily I had to get one for some development work so I'm not that disappointed, but don't buy this yet and expect it to work well in Canada, even with a US VPN/DNS...

Went to Walmart and they price matched it for me on the spot! Although it was 399 when I had them do it. The price is 379 now! I'm not sure what that link is even for but Walmart honored it.

I have been looking for the same thing. Samsung just posted it for $50 off on their website starting Monday.
best I have seen so far, I will probably just go with the Tab Pro 8.4 for $199 from Best Buy if nothing better comes up.
I grabbed a 32gb 10.5 gray best buy refurbished for 379. Had to bite on it. Very pleased with my decision. I believe they are still online so go check it out.

So I read on reddit about Moto 360 being $100 at RadioShack due to them going out of business and I called my local store and luckily they had one in stock. They won't tell you the price on phone, you have to go in and then they will punch in the 60% discount code which brings it down to $100 + tax. This is a great deal thought I let folks here at XDA know.

Here is what you do
1) Look at the document from RadioShack (google: radioshack closing stores pdf)
2) Use search on your PC/Mobile find"nearest one" I searched for Brooklyn.
3) go to radioshack.com type your zip-code check that store if it shows: Availiable
4) RUN THERE! lol

I went to a Radioshack in Roxboro, NC that is closing soon and saw they have about 4 moto 360s for $100 a pop. I bought 2. Went to 3 Radioshacks in Durham, NC and two weren't closing just yet, the 3rd was but unfortunately pretty much only had cables and other crap left. Apparently they packed up all the quality stuff right before.

I doubt anyone who got it for 100$ would even sell you for the same price,when they can put it on ebay for 200$.
I suggest you look at the list of all closing stores and drive to few that you feel are close to you.

I doubt it. The whole point of these steep discounts is to clear inventory for that particular store. So there would be no point to ship it to a store where they're trying to clear all the existing stock.
Nothing available in the Seattle area, it looks like.
Not just for the watch
The ones closing in my area were knocking prices off everything 80% I dropped like 3k on all kinds off and have made my money back on selling it and am keeping the things I want. I got a note 4 edge store demo in mint condition for 130 bucks lol and I sold it for 500 because I like my mate 7 better and they even sim unlocked it for me.
Maybe I should have bought one
