Please, if anyone can help me out, i would really appreciate it because i have no experience on flashing on sammy devices and i am reeally confused :crying:.. I have been searching like the WHOLE internet to find a solution but came up with nothing.. Thanks in advance

You must flash thru recovery.
Here the installation steps, but first you must flash a custom recovery like this or other, its up to you.
Installation instructions
- Copy f4ktion_1.4.0-xxx.zip to your SDCARD
- Reboot into CWM recovery
- Choose "Install zip from sdcard"
- Select f4ktion_1.4.0-xxx.zip kernel and confirm installation.

Thank you so much So all i have to do is flash the recovery in Odin.. But since my s4 mini is rooted, do i have to install the S4Mini_RootKit_V2.zip?? i mean if I do, will it conflict with the SuperSU i have previously installed on my device? Or just overwrite it and work like a charm? Sorry I'm asking like too many questions, but since i'm new here i need some guidance
Btw, how do i know if my bootloader is unlocked? Before I buy this s4 mini i owned an Xperia go and to install a kernel i had to unlock the BL.. I don't know if the same thing applies for sammy devices, just asking:angel:

No, we have bootloader unlocked, so you don't need to unlock anything.
No, try with this recovery if you afraid to not doing some conflicts:
[i919x][CWM Advanced Edition] PhilZ Touch
Download philz_touch_6.07.9-serranoltexx.tar.md5
boot into download mode
connect phone in download mode to PC via USB
press start to flash the tar.md5 package
normally, phone should auto-reboot into recovery.
If it reboots into main system and your recovery remains stock, repeat above steps and untick "autoreboot" in odin. Once flash is done, keep pressing the 3 buttons combo to for a reboot into recovery. You should see the new CWM
when in recovery, if you choose option "reboot system now" and you get "yes - disable flash recovery", select that option to avoid stock recovery overwriting cwm

Really, i don't know for sure, BUT in my previous phone (S Advance I9070) i have some errors when i flashed different baseband deodexed.
Make a nandroid backup after you have custom recovery, and you can try it. If something going wrong, restore your backup and all will just like before.

If you flash a custom recovery your device's Knox counter will be triggered to 0x1

I use TWRP because I prefer the interface better. To get CWM however, download Rom Manager from the market and install it through there would be the easiest. If you want to try TWRP, download GooManager and install openscript recovery.

It's actually pretty simple. Download CWM on the Play Store then launch it. Under Recovery, tap "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery". Select your device then tap on Flash ClockworkMod Recovery. Now when you press Volume Up+Home+Power, you should boot into CWM Recovery

flash a root-injected stock rom image via odin, wipe data, cache and factory reset. then reinstall twrp.
And for the future know that i747m is the exact same as ATT's i747.

Yup, yup. i747M is actually the Canadian version of the i747. The i747U is the American version

The i747 and the i747m use different modem basebands (how are they different? Even I don't know), but the two otherwise take exactly the same software just fine.

I really don't know other than the basebands... I heard the Tmo version is the same as well (or very similar).

I don't know if anyone really knows the reason why the phones take different basebands. I've long thought that there's a subtle hardware difference between the two phones, but I have no idea what it might be, and no real means to go about finding that out.
i tryed 4 times to install either from goo app or flash with odin twrp but dont seem to work
when i restart my phone holding down home vol dwn pwr it goes in stock recovery
how do i get it to work?
thanks
P.S.maybe one of the difference is that i747M can scan AWS (but only windmobile not mobilicity) what i find really strange

Happened to me before. Use a root explorer on your phone (like ES File Explorer) and delete the following files: /system/recovery-from-boot.p and /system/etc/install-recovery.sh. The next time you reboot, you'll boot to CWM Recovery instead of Android Recovery
cannot find those files and i did installed goomanager and after the script and it said installed but nothing still stock recovery
i looked for the files u mentioned but i cannot find them in system folder
what else can i do to have TWRP ?
thanks

I used http://galaxys3root.com/galaxy-s3-root/how-to-root-galaxy-s3/. Worked flawlessly for me by this method
After reading few more posts I decided to have TWRP not CWM
I believe the instrucion above are included for CWM
So for TWRP how do I manage to put it up after all those failed attempts?
Thanks

I would follow the method outlined by laserlight. It worked for me also.
After you have the CWM recovery use GooManager to install TWRP. It will replace CWM.

Well if he's planning to install a custom AOSP-based ROM then flashing a root package isn't required... correct me if I'm wrong.

CWM is overwritten with stock recovery by the stock ROM. So if you don't have stock ROM it's kinda useless...
After flashing a custom ROM, all that's left unmodified on the device is just the bootloader... I don't think a bootloader can overwrite CWM to a stock recovery.

[Q] Installl a custom ROM while Rooted STOCK

I have rooted my S4 Mini so I could move apps into the SD Card and remove bloatware.
Samsung and my Operator have just put so much bloatware that is impossible to remove them without flashing a Custom ROM.
Now I am still rooted, and I still have the stock recovery and ROM. My questions are:
1) Which ROM is more stable/aosp? Cyanogenmod (10.2 ?) or SlimKaT ROM?
2) Can I install a custom ROM withthe stock Recovery? Is it recommended?
3) Any guides available that will help me do it, (given that I am ALREADY rooted and with stock rom?)
Thanks

1. This a a very subjective matter that get asked over and over again. You got to have to try it for yourself. Slimrom is by far, the only ROM with the least pre-installed app.
2) You can't install a custom ROM with stock recovery.
3) Since you didn't mention which method you use to ROOT (as few rooting method will install CWM for you), the first thing you need to do if to check if you have custom recovery. Some root method such as SafeRoot don't allow this operation (again you need to clarify). The easiest way is to install CWM is via ROM Manager from the Play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.rommanager which the app will install CWM for you. Note that this will trigger Knox if you phone is protected by it.

first of all please specify ur model .. we have here 3 types .. lte model i9195 , dual sim model which i have i9192 and the single sim i9190
..thing is if you have an i9192 we dont have any aosp/cm/aokp for them as these roms require single sim and radio drivers doesnt get ported easily
... secondly u MUST CHECK if u have a knox bootloader or not ... if u dont know knox .. its just a flag in download mode "0x0" if u attempt to flash any bootloader in the phone throught odin even .. it turns "0x1" and IT CANNOT BE 0X0 AGAIN !! ..this voids the warrenty if u have of if its a job's phone u will face problems ...if u dont have "knox void warrenty" sentence in the download mode u are lucky and BE CAREFUL of flashing bootloaders .. in this case avoid flashing any new stock firmwares because they have knox .. remove knox from a guide here and then flash :highfive: ... thirdly as far as i know cm/aosp based roms here are stable but as usual they are not that good in camera and they are only avilable for i9190/i9195 ... u cant install a custom rom from stock recovery ..stock recovey flashes ONLY signed samsung zips "upgrade packages"
... 4th search by yourself xda is full of guides and here in s4 mini forum we have almost all needed guides :highfive: ... sorry for writing alot but when u asked about installing a custom rom with stock recovery is a "newbie" question so i thought to tell u everything
Thank for the helps guys.
First of all ROM Manager does not support my phone . I says that it can not find a suitable Recovery to install.
My model is i9195.
My Knox warannty is not valid anymore (It says warranty bit not found).
Also, I found this guide http://www.s4miniarchive.com/2013/08/how-to-root-samsung-galaxy-s4-mini-gt.html
but I do not want to install the custom kernel. Will it be ok to skip the first step and just flash the Recovery?

Hmm, odd. I thought I did my CWM by ROM Manager. Any case just do this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2364980
Do step 2-6 and you will have CWM.
PS. I'm not sure why you worry about the custom kernel, if you going to use custom ROM, it will have a custom kernel.

The reason is that I want to avoid using a custom kernel is because I read that some of them are 'insecure'.
Anyway, I will give it a try (steps 2-6) and see if it works.

[Q] need some help installing KitSlim on locked BL

hi,
after spending a lot of time in the KitSlim thread i'm getting more and more confused.
One person says do it that way, another suggests a different approach.
i'd like to install the KitSlim Evo9 from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2743177
I'm currently running a stock 4.4.4 rooted with locked bootloader and a dualrecovery on my Z1C
- boot in TWRP
- do all the wipes
- flash the Rom from SD1
- without reboot flash the gapps
- power off
- use the flashtool to flash the 108 NUTStockKernel
- reboot & done
My Questions so far:
Is this order correct?
does the Rom file need to be on the internal Storage or would the SDCard also work?
Is the NutStockKernel ok for my locked BL, or do i just need to flash a standart 108Kernel file?
(Some say the NutStockKernel is only for unlocked Bootloader, some say it's for locked BL)
Does this NutStockKernel come with a dualrecovery?
Some even suggest not to flash a Kernel because i'm allready on a 4.4.4_108 !?
thanks in advance for answers!
the more i read here the harder it seems to get ^^ but i'll try.
this is a great community!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=54777670
This is the process I used, worked fine.
thanks for the reply. i'll give it a go then.
If you already have fw.108 on your phone, you don't need to flash NUTs kernel.

does that mean, that the dual recovery will still be there?
(as far as i understand the recovery is in the kernel)
or does the recovery come with the ROM? cause it says in the thread that dual recovery is built in

Recovery is built into the rom, so whatever you do don't flash nuts recovery again after kitslim or you'll end up in bootloop and have to start from scratch flashing a stock rom.
So coming from a stock rom fw.108, with root and recovery (but locked bootloader) go into recovery, wipe system wipe cache&dalvik (don't reboot) flash the Evo9 then the Full gapps, that's it.
Even if it goes horribly wrong, you still won't unlock the bootloader, and rebuilds are so easy now thanks to Easyroot
thx for the advice. i did it and it's running on my phone now \o/
runs great, and no bugs encountered yet!
still got some questions.
are there any restrictions to what software to install with KitSlim running?

I think you should head over to the KitSlim thread, but no, it's just the same as a stock rom, install what you like. Although pay attention to which modules you install with Xposed, as some of them can clash.
i need 10 posts min. to post there, thats why i asked here.

You can unlock bootloader via Flashtool or via fastboot. You can find tutorial for it on Xperia M General Forum.
