[Q] Towelroot Tmobile Note 3 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

I was wondering if anyone has tried towelroot on a Tmobile note 3? If you have did it work?

It works fine up until NE6.. it won't work in NF1. You can always Odin back to NE6 to use it.

As long as your updated to NE6. I updated via kies and rooted. Very simple.

will it work if i dont update to NE6

No. Well it doesn't work with nb4.

Can someone explain or link me to somewhere where it does explain how to switch to NE6. Also will I have to root to upgrade because if I do there will be no point of upgrading and using towelroot

All you have to do is download the N900TUVUDNE6 Firmware from http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=SM-N900T&pcode=TMB#firmware. Then, connect your phone to your computer and open Odin software. Flash though AP. After a few minutes, it's done and voila! This will not change your Knox status from 0x0. Then use Towelroot v2 to root your phone. Its a very easy install and click app. and you are done.

I was hoping to avoid Odin if at all possible not because I don't know what I'm doing but because I'm a very cautious and have only rooted one other phone with odin. Also I noticed NF1 is on Kies will that work with towelroot?

ok sorry to ask but just to be sure, if i had NF1 and did the downgrade it will NOT change my knox from 0x0 to 0x1?

No. Simply downgrading to stock firmware will not change your Knox status to 0x1. I downgraded myself in order to gain root and I'm still at 0x0.

Interesting , it didn't work for me and my wife (tmobile note 3) and others. I'm not sure why unless with v2 nb4 firmware was included.
I hope he does a v3 soon.

I have heavily modified the MotoChopper exploit by XDA member drjbliss to handle the new changes to file permissions in JellyBean 4.3+. Because this tool is based on MotoChopper it will likely support the same device list that MotoChopper supports however i have only tested it on the T-mobile T999 & T999L and the i337 .
If you would like to test it on other devices it should be fairly safe to try as it should either work or fail, of course testing anything like this is always at your own risk and i am not liable for any damage to your device, self esteem and so on. If you do test it on your device, please report your results here so that I can try to fine tune it if need be.
For this current version you will have to have TWRP installed on your device.
if it works for you don't forget to hit the thanks button! enjoy.
all instructions on how to use are inside the tool. this is for windows users only.

So sorry I need to edit the main post, I have been working on so many different projects, we did not test it on the M919 it was actually tested on the i337. If you are talking about the flash counter though this will not trip the flash counter, however flashing twrp will trip the binary status, and possibly the Knox counter, I need someone to test it, but I can't tell you how to correct it if it does trip it.
i guess what i should say is that while i have not had a confirmed success of fail on the m919 i have provided the tool to a few who have not been kind enough to report its status

So now Sammy has a flash counter a Knox counter and a binary status? Next thing you know their entire kernel is going to be some kind of counter.

The funny thing is when they switch to that tizen bs they are probably going to require the phones to root in order to switch like Ubuntu for the phones.

No it will not erase the data on your phone.
The step by step instructions are inside the tool, if you need instructions on how to flash TWRP to your device via Odin you can find them in the forums. I would include them but it is really outside of the scope of the tool, while the tool requires TWRP to work TWRP is not related in any way to the tool, the tool is simply TWRP dependent.
It has worked on the i337 already, whether or not it works on mk2 has yet to be determined, however the tool is designed in such a way it will either work or fail, if it fails it will not harm your device.

Thanks for your reply, I dont want to trip the Knox as the warranty is until 31 October 2015.
If it did trip it, will I able to factory restore and clean, would that make the counter back?
Edited post above.
Afiak you can't reset the knox counter yet. Dr Ketan guides are pretty good, there is a guide somewhere about removing knox that's probably worth reading.

Knox and upgrading

I have a T-mobile Galaxy S4 and it's currently running danvdh's GPE edition. I am considering updating via the OTA to get the new baseband/radio. I currently have the mixed MK2/MDL radio/baseband. I know that I'll get knox if I update...but IIRC, the Knox apps are able to be removed, and flashing new ROMs will trip Knox, but aside from voiding the warranty, what else does this do? Nothing? Lol

This is a full and complete answer, by the way. That is all it will do aside from the warrent.y It does not affect your daily use at all.
Just to confirm though. If I go back to complete stock and do this update and then apply any kind of root it will hit the Knox flag right?
Right now mine is still 0x0
Pretty sure it's flashing a custom recovery that trips Knox, not rooting.

That may be the only option.
He must have used the wrong root script, like AT&T or Sprint root.

You need either 4.3 or 4.4.2, MDL is 4.2.2, it'll never flash, so flash 4.3 or 4.4.2, you can only flash 4.3 if you had that firmware before you attempted to root, if you had the latest update you need 4.4.2!!

Can I root on a p600 kk?

Been trying to figure out but mixed messages.
I know if I upgrade my at&t n3 phone to kk, I am screwed. So I rooted and froze the at&t upgrade till they fix things. Kk downloaded to my 2014 tablet but I keep saying no to the upgrade.
If I let it upgrade will it lock the bootloader or prevent later rooting?

If you root, you will trip Knox no matter how it's done. No getting around it.
[ How do you plan on getting KK without upgrading? ]
Now I'm confused.
Wait... Is you N10 LTE or WIfi Only? If you accept the OTA on the N10, YOU WILL NOT TRIP KNOX. If you ROOT YOU WILL TRIP KNOX.
You can have the upgrade to KK without rooting. Just Keis or OTA.
I was meaning rooting then a 3rd party ROM or upgrading Ota, root.
