From 4.3 to Kitkat 4.4.2 in good conditions - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

Hy all,
I just bought my Samsung Galaxy 10.1 (edition 2014)
Phone Model: SM-P600
Device type: lt03wifi
PDA Version: XXUBMJ6
Android version: 4.3
CSC: XEF
Root : OK (CF Auto Root)
Recovery : Ok (Philz Touch 6.41.6)
Knox : deleted
Backup : done
I would like to flash a Kitkat 4.4.2 custom rom, but first let me know if I can flash directly (after nandroid banckup) or if it is better to install a stock KitKat rom at first (via Odin) and then after flashing a custom.
With my Galaxy Note 2 I know that I had to change the bootloader before flashing Kitkat but here I do not know.
Thank you for your information and advice
NB : excuse my signature always under SGNII

It is important to Flash stock 4.4.2 before flashing any custom kitkat Rom . And it becomes very must if you are flashing a CM based rom. Flashing Stock Kitkat changes the old bootloader to the kitkat bootloader which is essential for Flashing CM based ROMs .
Hope this helps you !!!
Don't forget to press the thanks button !!!

You can flash an official firmware using Odin. Your custom recovery will automatically be replaced if you flash an official firmware.
Although you can flash a custom rom....:good:
Hit thanks if i helped you
There is no harm in upgrading to 4.3 but some user reported big problems like unable to make calls, or IMEI lost, also unable to downgrade to 4.1.2 mostly. Biggest problem is excessive battery drain, wifi disconnection and unable to connect to slow network. You might wait until an official firmware airs for your phone. Maybe thats bugs free. You might then need to flash stock 4.1.2 to get over the air (OTA) update. You might be informed that you have got an update, or you can browse sammobile.com and search the firmware portal for your country. If you need information just post it here. I suggest to stay at 4.1.2 4.3 isn't a major improvement...

Why don't you try flashing a custom roms? Check out ProBam ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2336271
One of the best ROMs I have seen. Really fast and stable
You might need to re-root after flashing.
DON'T
My suggestions is:
Don't "DO" if you "NOT SURE"
Don't "TRY" if you "CAN'T TAKE RISK"

[Q] NOTE 2 - Please help ! just a small doubt

My device:- GT-N7100 ( Galaxy Note 2 international Version)
I am currently using Omega 18v (Android 4.1.2)
I would like to upgrade my omega rom to any other custom 4.4.2 kit kat rom..
Now my question is..
1) Can i flash rom directly from 4.1.2 to new downloaded 4.4.2 rom
{ I believe that first we have to upgrade android to STOCK 4.3 and then i need to install 4.4.2 right.. }
Please correct me if i wrong.
2) If I take my 4.1.2 android nand backup using philz recovery..
and then i will install 4.4.2 rom..
Now after installing 4.4.2 can i able to restore my previous backup ie.. 4.1.2
{ I saw some threads and posts that we cannot downgrade our rom from 4.4.2 to 4.1.2..}
Please solve my questions.
sorry for my bad english..

Yes you can directly flash 4.4.2 even if you are coming from 4.1.2 ROM,only thing you'd need is MJ5 bootloader (it's the last known bootloader that is KNOX free and works perfectly with 4.3 and 4.4.2 Touch wiz rom as well 4.4 AOSP ROM .You need MJ5 bootloader basically to have Wifi Working. Some people managed to get it working by staying on old bootloader and only flashing Dr.Ketan's wifi fix but in either case you don't need to upgrade to official 4.3 to flash 4.4.2.If you upgrade to stock 4.3 from samsung you will have Knoxed bootloader which will prevent downgrading to 4.1.2.So if you think you'd ever want to go back to 4.1.2 ROM then you shouldn't upgrade to stock 4.3 and just flash custom roms (after flashing the mj5 bootloader).I can provide you download link and instructions for MJ5 bootloader which can be flashed after upgrading your ROM to 4.3 or 4.4.2.Make sure you have a backup of your 4.1.2 ROM along with EFS PARTITION(that's a must) and then proceed ahead with flashing new ROMS.
MJ5 Bootloader download link
How to flash Bootloader
thanks dude. .!!
Thanks for ur rply..
And also thanks for the link..
And one more question. . If I dint like the 4.4.2 rom can I downgrade using my 4.1.2 nand backup.? Even though if I flash mj5 bootloader

Not sure about the i9190 as I own i9195 but check your bootloader to see which knox software version you are running. Don't think you can down grade certain bootloaders. You may be stuck on 4.4.2 ...maybe

SGH-i747M 4.4.2 i747MVLUFOB3 3.4.0-1784548 [email protected]" BUILD KOT49H.I747MVLUFOB
Good Evening, Everyone,
I just bought a used SGH-i747M 4.4.2 i747MVLUFOB3 3.4.0-1784548 [email protected]" BUILD KOT49H.I747MVLUFOB
Seller said It was on Koodo.
Might I ask you a few questions ?
1) Are there advantages to flash Rogers radio as I'm on Rogers ?
2) What is the newest Rom (Lollipop ? Marshmallow ?) that you have been using Without-Losing the Stock driver to enable the use of a MHL Cable (I have one) ? MHL means: USB->HDMI .
3) Any steps you feel I should know before ? Ok, immediately flash TWRP, then Full backup with TWRP.
Any signed TWRP flashable with stock recovery ?
4) Flashing this will Unlock the Provider ? Rogers' modem: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-att/general/modem-4-4-2-modems-i747-i747m-t2856577
Thank you All.
Flash the latest stock ROM from Sam mobile which can be found here: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SGH-I747M/RWC/
Rogers, bell, and telus all use the same bootloader and modem. The only difference between the carrier firmware is some app customisation included with each ROM.
Kit kat is the last official ROM.
Once the phone is running the latest bootloader and modem, you can flash twrp to install a custom ROM.
