[BOOTANIMATION] Android L Preview Build Bootanimation (works on KitKat) - Nexus 7 (2013) Themes and Apps

There is a new bootanimation from the Android L preview build, the bootanimation.zip file is attached. There is also a flashable ZIP that works fine on KitKat. Video below.

Flashable zip worked for me! Thanks for this!

Just flashed the flashable zip. Worked great ! Thanks.

Flashable zip works great in portrait mode but it is cut off in landscape...anyone else experienced this?

Something must be wrong, you uploaded the wrong bootanimation, i've triedt replacing manually the bootanimation and flashing with the other one and the boot animation i got wasn't the right animation! i'll try to extract it myself form the factory image
edit: ok something is really wrong, maybe you got the files right but i cant get that bootanimation on my nexus, all i get is one animation saying android in grey..
edit2: forgive my ignorance i didn't changed the permissions to rw-r-r, now it's working

No help from OP? ...I'm stuck with a half screen boot animation. Don't even know how to revert back without doing a reinstall of the ROM. It won't let me delete the the bootanimation.zip from system/media

It does not work well. The animation is distorted

You can dirty-flash your ROM and you'll be back to normal, or extract your bootanimation from the ROM file and drop it into the flashable ZIP.

for those having trouble in landscape being cut in half. scosler made a zip in cleanrom thread that works perfect! also when it boots the screen is in half as the other half (left) should say android.

The update files were meant for Lulz/Tegrak kernel so those files wouldn't work with stock rom. I also have yet to try those script on CWM as well.
The easiest path right now is to install the Lulz/Tegrak kernel via odin from this thread

The boot animation itself actually will work with most phone but these has been packaged to work with sanim.zip boot animation.
You can check your /system/media see if you have boot animation.zip or sanim.zip and just extract my sanim.zip to replace the file.

[Boot Animation] GingerReal boot animation for SGA

Hi All,
I edited the original GingerReal boot animation (BA) to fit in our Samgung Galaxy Ace because the original form of BA was for SGS which appears little bigger in SGA (obviously due to different resolution).
How to install: (Not flashable)
Download <===== the attached zip file (don't change the name)
Use Root explorer or same kind of tool.
Copy the boot animation from SD card and paste it to system/media folder (please don't forget to unmount by pressing r/w)
Reboot

Thanks to despotovski01 for helping me with compression issue.
Thanks to redmaner for adding this in GingerReal KPO 1.2.0 Version

My phone is running the stock boot animation and bootanimation.zip isn't present.
First off, in system/media/audio/ui I renamed poweron.ogg to poweron.bak and pushed the new sound file to the same location and set permissions to 6-4-4.
Secondly, in system/media I renamed bootsamsung, bootsamsungloop and shutdown qmg files to .bak (the other three files aren't present on my phone) then pushed all six qmg files to the same location, set permissions on all six to 6-4-4 and rebooted.
The new boot animation, boot sound and shutdown animation all worked fine.
EDIT:
You may need to disable custom boot animations first for it to work (ie: no bootanimation.zip).
This thread (see post #5) has files to flash in clockworkmod for enable/disable custom boot animation - I have not personally used it so offer no guarantees but hopefully it will help.

[Boot Animation] Optimus G Pro CM Simple Boot

Just started playing with boot animations the other day. This one is, as the title implies, simple Optimus G Pro CM boot.
Zip file is attached below.
See post 6 for BLACK version link
Install Steps: [ROOT Required]
Step 1: Go to system/media copy bootanimation.zip (stock file) and place it somewhere for safe keeping
Step 2: Copy the attached bootanimation.zip (downloaded custom file) and paste it into system/media (replacing the stock file)
Step 3: Refresh the folder (exit and re-enter)
Step 4: Long press the new bootanimation.zip, Permissions --> rw-rw-r 0664 (Owner: Read/Write, Group: Read/Write, Others: Read)
Reboot and Test
I like it but would like it more as a darker background instead of white...........dark grey or black ......I'll get a picture and show you what would be really cool as the background

Can't find the black one .....but this abstract design but like black and grey would be awesome with that blue on your boot animation

Hey 2S,
Thanks. Was going for ultra minimalism to match my current theme setup, but also planned to change it to gray and black as you mentioned.
I'll throw some up using some backgrounds you suggested. I just need to find them in high res and adjust the font color to give contrast.

Hmm, I noticed that after pasting/overwritting the stock boot, it would show up as proper permissions, but it wasn't refreshed. Had to exit and re-enter root file explorer and then fix permissions. I wonder what else it could be.
I'll make it a proper boot animation file that can be managed in the theme interface at some point instead of having to replace files manually.
Lol its not hard to do manually ........

[REQ] Flashable Android L Bootanimation that works on Galaxy Nexus

Hey guys, I've tried to flash and/or manually install every iteration of the new Android L bootanimation onto the Gnex with either the result of a black bootscreen or the phone simply does not boot at all until I return the current bootanimation I have. I don't know what the issue is or what I have done wrong, I've tried modifying the dimensions with no resolution either.
So I humbly ask, could someone get a working version of the new Android L Bootanimation in flashable form for the Galaxy Nexus? Please.
I just transfered the bootabimation.zip to the correct folder while backing up the old.
I went the old fashioned way without using a flashable zip

Still doesn't work. I even did a fresh install with the bootanimation added to system/media where it's supposed to go and all I get after the Google splash is one little green pixel and then the screen stays black until the phone is booted. I have done no modifications to the bootanimation.zip on this or any of the others I have tried, I simply delete the bootanimation.zip already in system/media and then add the Android L bootanimation. It simply does not work at all. I really don't understand what the problem is. Every other bootanimation I've tried out works fine.
I have no idea then. I literally just changed the old one to bootanimation.zip.old and copied the new one over.
@Nephilim
Did you try to move it to data/local ?
I'll also mention that for me it worked on Omni FML. So unless you're using OMNI FML it could be something rom specific.

Trust me! I always do it that way. I don't remember why (some guy mentioned it in a bootanination thread), but it works for me without an issue... You may even leave the system animation, it gets ignored...

what you needed to do after pushing the zip to either data/local OR system/media was set permissions on the file correctly
